The next day, when Jiang Shu finished get off work, Xie Yin was waiting for her downstairs in the office building, carrying a small handbag.
The two got into the car and drove away.
A dark shadow appeared behind the curtains of the special task force on the first floor. Someone patted Zhou Qing on the shoulder: "The instructor has a girlfriend, so don't get hung up on her. There are plenty of fish in the sea, why be hung up on one? If you really get together, you'll end up arguing and fighting, and even ten brothers won't be able to help you."
Zhou Qing snapped out of his daze and said casually, "Don't spread rumors. What kind of behavior is it to talk about Instructor Jiang's private affairs behind his back?"
"Just keep that in mind. Old Liu is making stir-fried pork tonight. If you go too late, it'll be gone."
Zhou Qing gave a soft "hmm," it would be a lie to say he wasn't disappointed.
An outstanding woman will never lack suitors; he just met her too late.
I heard that Xie Yin was her first partner. If he had been assigned to her, the outcome might have been different.
......
The handbag contained the property certificate. At Xie Yin's prompting, Jiang Shuyin took it out and opened it to look at the address. It was the same apartment above hers.
"It's resolved so quickly? How did you do it?" Although she spoke to her mother so casually, she knew that this matter would take at least one or two months to be completed.
Xie Yin said, "I traded something for it, so I'm giving it to you."
The property certificate was in her name. When Shangguan held the altered certificate and ran her fingertips over those three characters, she thought: This way, they can be considered to be connected again.
His house, in the end, bore her name.
Jiang Shuyin needed it, so she didn't stand on ceremony with him: "If there's anything I can help you with in the future, be sure to ask. I'm taking advantage of you this time."
Xie Yin said, "Okay."
Perhaps it was a match made in heaven, everything went very smoothly, and Jiang Shuyin told her mother about it when she got back.
Zheng Lanxiang was first surprised: "This house is so hard to get, how come it came to you so easily? You're really amazing." Then she was naturally happy. Living so close by, with her daughter backing her up, what was she afraid of? She asked Lao Xiao to invite her daughter over, and the matter was settled after a meal.
Xiao Youliang was also taken aback when he received the call. He was so happy that he couldn't stand up straight. He quickly called his daughter and asked her to take leave and come over.
Xiao Yin had just finished cleaning herself when she heard the content. She raised an eyebrow and smiled, "You've figured it out so quickly? Has something changed?"
Xiao Youliang was secretly delighted: "They're even willing to support me in my old age, and they bought me an apartment so I can live on the first floor after I get married. That kid is so filial, he can't bear to see his mother leave home, he doesn't dislike me, he speaks to me politely, and he's incredibly capable..."
"Is someone else's daughter really that good? I also want to take care of you in your old age. Why don't you bring your aunt to live over there for a year and over here for a year?" Xiao Yin felt as sour as if she had eaten a lemon when she heard her father praising his stepmother's daughter to the skies.
Xiao Youliang chuckled quietly.
Many people laughed at him for saving an only daughter, but what's wrong with a daughter? As long as she's raised well, she'll be more filial than a son. Besides, a son-in-law is like half a son, so he doesn't have to worry about anything. He didn't even know about the transfer of his retirement pension to mission points; they had it all taken care of.
"I think it's fine, but if your aunt thinks it's too much trouble, then forget it. Whenever you're free to come over, I'll be waiting for you so I can get married."
Xiao Yin said irritably, "Hmph, I know you're in a hurry. Yang Ge and I will go to our workplace tomorrow to hand over our work, and we'll leave right after work. We'll be there first thing the day after tomorrow. Are you satisfied now?"
Xiao Youliang said "okay" three times, then hung up the phone and chuckled.
On Wednesday, Xie Yin went to work, which Jiang Shu found inexplicably funny.
I saw a short video before that said that the gorillas in a certain place have evolved to a level close to that of humans, with high intelligence and the ability to understand human speech. One netizen commented: That's enough, stop here. If they continue to evolve, they'll have to go to work.
Xie Yin was dressed as usual. Jiang Shuyin recounted Cao Jing's story again, and Xie Yin nodded to indicate that he had remembered it.
The search team waited and waited, and finally the person they had been talking about arrived. As soon as Xie Yin got out of the car, they all glanced at him, each with their own ulterior motives.
People from various factions went over to greet him. Cao Jing's trusted subordinate wanted to go in his place, but Cao Jing stopped him, saying, "I'll go."
The confidant looked up at his boss and felt that he was taking Xie Yin too seriously. He was just a minor instructor, an awkward figure that no one wanted to associate with.
Those who greeted Xie Yin were all low-ranking subordinates, testing the waters to gauge the newcomer's attitude.
Xie Yin was indifferent to everyone.
This composure was even more unbearable. They exchanged glances, wanting to give him a hard time.
"Xie Yin, I've heard so much about you. I heard that Jiang Shuyin recently started working there. How is she doing?" Cao Jing walked up to Xie Yin and extended his hand.
Xie Yin shook hands briefly and then let go: "It's alright, she told me about you."
Cao Jing's smile deepened as she pulled him toward the office, explaining the situation in detail: "There are a few people who don't get along with me and might say some unpleasant things. Don't take it to heart. They might not listen to you when you first arrive, but I'll help you handle that. Try to adapt as soon as possible."
Remembering Jiang Shuyin's words, Xie Yin took the initiative to ask about him: "How are you doing here?"
Cao Jing chuckled, took out a cigarette from his inner pocket, handed one to Xie Yin, and lit it for him.
Smoke slowly drifted and dispersed throughout the room.
Cao Jing pointed out the window: "Everyone is waiting for me to make a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. No matter how careful I am, I can't stop people from deliberately messing with me. I haven't had a good time lately."
No one from outside has come in. Other factions are trying to find out how Cao Jing knows Xie Yin. They don't know anything about it; they were just confused.
Xie Yin imitated his smoking motion, took a deep breath, and felt the smoke dissipate in his body—a novel sensation.
"I have something to say, and you should call everyone over to listen."
Cao Jing raised his eyebrows, but out of trust, he didn't ask any further questions.
