Xie Yin parked his car in an urban village, an area full of factories and warehouses for rent. Before the car had even come to a complete stop, someone else came over to inquire:
"Are you here to catch monsters? I'm the warehouse manager here, and I'm telling you, there are at least five of them. They appear and disappear like ghosts. Two of my colleagues have already gone missing. Please, you need to deal with this quickly. My family won't let me come to work, but we can't make a living without working..."
"Alright, alright." Jiang Shuyin raised her hand to interrupt: "Tell us quickly, what is the range of that monster? When we came here just now, from the bridge, this factory looked to be at least 5,000 square meters."
The man smiled wryly and straightened the hem of his blue overalls: "It's just that the area is too big, so those people don't care. Two people came here to catch them, but they got scratched. I heard they were infected by a virus and are now lying in the lab being studied."
He sighed, looked them over for a moment, and said helplessly, "You're all so young. If you think it's too difficult, you should give up. I'm risking my life right now, just praying that the police finish dealing with the World Trade Center soon and come to my aid."
Jiang Shuyin looked at Xie Yin, who was staring intently at the blue factory buildings in the distance. He seemed to sense her gaze and then turned his eyes to her: "Over there."
The direction he was pointing was where he had just been looking.
The warehouse manager in blue overalls turned pale and turned his head away. He couldn't see anything, but through the metal sheet of the factory building, he sensed a sense of danger. So the monster was so close to him. Was it about to eat him? He was the only one around here.
Jiang Shuyin's throat tightened, and she gripped the iron rod she had taken from the service area tightly in her hand. Qingwu had been left in the car to take care of her younger sister, and Xie Yin had gone over empty-handed. Jiang Shuyin was worried and grabbed his arm:
"Find a weapon first, don't get your hands dirty."
Xie Yin raised an eyebrow, turned around and moved his lips, but before he could speak, the warehouse manager was very helpful: "Oh, oh, oh, I have a spiked club for self-defense, I'll get it for you right away."
Jiang Shuyin looked at Xie Yin holding the spiked club, as if the Imperial Guards had abandoned their embroidered spring knives and switched to large cleavers, and felt a strange sense of incongruity.
"Note that there are two," Xie Yin reminded her.
Jiang Shuyin tightened her grip on the iron rod, her steps becoming heavier and more cautious.
"Heh"
A jolt of electricity ran through Jiang Shuyin's back, her heart leaped into her throat, and she followed Xie Yin.
"Left side." Xie Yin had just spoken when Jiang Shuyin saw a huge black shadow sweep past and circle around behind them, leaving the two of them sandwiched between the monster.
Xie Yin raised his eyes: "You on the left, I on the right."
"Heh!" The monster made a panting sound. Jiang Shuyin saw a monster even more terrifying than the service area. Ignoring her fear, the monster had already run up to her.
In this life-or-death crisis, the hand reacts faster than the brain, raising the stick and swinging it forcefully.
The monster was knocked to the ground, with only a bloody hole in its head. It quickly got up and continued its attack on her.
This monster was slightly stronger. Jiang Shuyin gritted her teeth and swung her sword twice in a short time, once to the left and once to the right. The monster was already beaten to the point where it could no longer stand up. Jiang Shuyin was about to go over and finish it off when Xie Yin stopped her: "Keep it alive."
Jiang Shuyin stood there, stunned, looking at the monster she had beaten to a pulp with some doubt: "They don't want to take it, do they?"
It's like a one-yuan note that's been torn into four pieces and taped together with transparent tape.
Xie Yin: "Tie it up first and keep it for later use. I can go and change the loading container, and I can also look for another one to save myself an extra trip."
The warehouse manager had plenty of ropes, so Jiang Shu led him to borrow a few to tie up the monster.
The warehouse manager came out to take a look and saw that these monsters, which were originally human, had turned into drug addicts. Their eye sockets were sunken, and their red eyeballs were surrounded by black and red eyelids. Their hair had become sparse and yellow due to the lack of organic matter, and the flesh of their limbs hung on their bodies as if it had been separated from their bones.
"Zhang Chao... Li Da."
The two drove around the warehouse several times, but the remaining three monsters seemed to be asleep, not reacting to the noise they made as they passed by.
After circling almost all three outer rings, Xie Yin stopped the car and got out.
Jiang Shuyin removed Qingwu and Heimei from her body, got out of the car and stood with him: "What did you find?"
“The monster is hiding from us.” He walked to a corner of the factory and pointed to the slime on the ground: “It was here just now, but it’s gone now.”
Jiang Shuyin felt nauseous and looked away.
After carefully considering his words, she immediately sensed something was wrong: "You mean the monster can already think?"
"Not necessarily, this one's going a bit too fast. I'll take care of it. You wait for me in the car," Xie Yin instructed, then sped up and rushed into the factory. The lights weren't on, and his figure quickly disappeared into the darkness.
Seeing Xie Yin walk away, Jiang Shuyin felt a chill run down her spine. She quickly got into the car, hugged her two little ones, and secretly reflected: if Xie Yin hadn't been there, how would she have faced all this alone?
No one will stay with you forever; she has to learn to face this sooner rather than later.
A person was standing at the opposite window, blocking the light from her face. Jiang Shu looked up, and the person suddenly leaned down, revealing a terrifying face. His tongue slid out of his mouth, and the car window was shaken by his smash, as if it might shatter at any moment.
Qingwu was furious and opened the car window to fight the monster. Heimei huddled in a ball, trembling. Jiang Shu gently comforted her with the pad of her finger: "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, Mommy will go out and confront him. How dare he scare my baby."
As if infused with a power called "a mother's strength," Jiang Shuyin looked around, opened the door, and, with Qingwu's help, subdued the tongue-sticking monster.
However, she didn't know how to tie it up, and several times her attempts were blocked by the monster. She remembered the warehouse manager saying that being caught would cause infection, so she didn't dare to take the risk.
The warehouse manager said there were five in total, and two others were still at large. Jiang Shuyin was on guard, afraid of being ambushed.
About ten minutes later, Xie Yin finally arrived, her eyes filled with tears: "You've finally come. Can you teach me how to tie this?"
Xie Yin had three men trailing behind him; it seemed they had all been dealt with?
Xie Yin handed her the rope, crushed the monster's hand on the ground with his foot, then stepped on its head to secure it. He then wrapped the rope around the monster like a snowball, finally tying it in a knot around his knee.
It just takes up a lot of rope.
"It's all taken care of, let's go."
The four monsters could only be dragged behind the vehicle, and the first two could be picked up from the warehouse manager.
The warehouse manager was shocked: "There were six of them! Thank you so much, we can finally have some peace and quiet for a while."
When he saw them preparing to drag the monster on the ground, the warehouse manager shook his head: "That won't work. The rope will break on the ground, and the monster will run away. Why don't you use a truck to transport it? Just return it when you're done."
If the boss complains, just say they stole it. Because of this, the boss hasn't come to pick up the goods for several days.
These days, apart from food and medical services, it's hard to do any other business.
