Chapter 282 A Side Story of the Schuler Father and Son (Part 1)

In the early 24th century, the Schuler clan left Earth and officially moved to a new home.

The new planet is an exoplanet orbiting the red dwarf star Gliese 581 in the constellation Libra, about 20.5 light-years from Earth.

It is the sixth planet discovered in the Gliese 581 planetary system. It was discovered and made public on September 29, 2010, through a collaborative effort between two top universities in country A. It is the result of 11 years of observations by the Keck Observatory in Hawaii.

This planet's environment is not ideal for habitation, with an average surface temperature between -31 and -12 degrees Celsius, but like Earth, it has revolution, liquid water, and an atmosphere.

It took a century from discovery to defining the goal and making preparations. Ace and his son Alfred devoted all their energy to this project, leaving all affairs on Earth to their two other heirs.

After resolving life-threatening issues such as temperature, bacteria, and new life forms that might exist on the new planet, at the end of the 23rd century, the elderly Alfred and the prime-age Ace officially transferred supplies to the new planet and began infrastructure construction.

Every country on Earth wanted a piece of the pie, and the other two heirs were also emboldened. After Eliquity's death, the two were completely unrestrained. Avery didn't want his son to get his hands dirty, so he took back the power from his two brothers and broke their legs.

As for the various countries wanting to occupy territory, Ace has fully accepted this. They can have land, but they have to pay money and provide manpower, since cross-space infrastructure is very expensive in terms of manpower and raw materials.

Ace only learned about it after visiting the site. Gliese 581 is a place with one side experiencing perpetual daylight and the other side experiencing perpetual darkness. The environment on the dark side is similar to the frozen environment of Schuler's planet, where the atmosphere is also condensed. Only a very small number of countries have claimed small plots of land on the dark side. These people are also smart; most of them want the land along the twilight line, which has both light and dark land.

In terms of infrastructure, the exposed surfaces of houses require sun-proof and heat-dissipating building structures, while the shaded surfaces require frost-resistant and heat-insulating building materials and lighting devices.

On this project that could potentially change history, even the war-loving country A lost interest in causing trouble and instead devoted itself to infrastructure construction, acting like a reformed and benevolent person, providing skilled craftsmen, supplies, and money, all in the hopes of getting a share of the pie.

Many world leaders have hinted to Ace: "Never let such a belligerent antisocial element enter our Garden of Eden."

"One bad apple spoils the whole bunch; please think carefully."

A few days later, Ace responded: "I welcome everyone to my planet."

Country A is overjoyed, while other countries are secretly worried.

The Merfolk have no intention of leaving Earth, and Changji guesses that Ace's answer suggests he has a way to control unstable elements.

Indeed, in Gliese 581, a special substance was seized first, containing the power of time. Anyone who was restless could be easily erased from existence.

This research is currently being conducted in secret, with Ace keeping a close eye on it. The researchers are all members of the Schuler tribe.

In the mid-24th century, Ace led the entire Schuler race and 20 million people from Earth to settle in Gliese 581, establishing the Schuler Empire. The surname was Ace-Chiang, and his father, Avery, was the founding father of the empire.

The day of arrival in Gliese is designated as January 1st of the first year of the new calendar, and people celebrate the holiday according to Earth's customs.

Everything was fine; Avery's only regret was that his son was also infertile.

Ace had no desire to marry or have an heir, devoting himself entirely to his career. Instead, he urged his father to produce an heir for the country as soon as possible to continue the bloodline.

The father and son had an unprecedented argument over this.

In a fit of anger, Avery left home and gave birth to Ace, who worked like a slave in the Ice Palace. He also had to worry about how to choose an heir. If there was a blood relative, even if it was an idiot, Ace would pass the throne to his blood relative.

"I hope my father can come to his senses soon; my mother is not coming back."

After more than three years, Ace finally consolidated the newly established country. When he looked back, he suddenly realized that his father had not returned for the past three years. He panicked and quickly sent people to look for him.

The person was found quickly, but... their mental state wasn't very optimistic.
