Avery extended his left hand, fingers spread apart.
The prominent veins on the back of his hand were a symbol of strength; only when she got this close did she realize how big his hands were.
Which finger to wear it on?
Avery moved his ring finger. Jiang Shuyin couldn't figure out which finger to wear it on, so she helped him put it on. The jade's color was warm and smooth, but on his hand it looked like the dark eyes of a black python, cold and alluring.
Then he took the bag, picked through it, found the same one, and gave it to her: "Hold out your hand."
Jiang Shuyin's face tightened, worried that he was going to perform some kind of ritual to bind her. The color drained from her face, she shook her head, and pulled back a distance: "I don't like wearing this. It's inconvenient for fighting monsters, and it's easy to break."
Avery picked out another one that wouldn't break easily and forced her to wear it: "You're tired, you go to sleep first, I'll go clean it."
These days, Jiang Shuyin has been sleeping on the floor, and Aifuli has never touched her.
Avery waited outside until the moonlight became attractive before entering the tent, quietly lying down behind her, wrapping his arms around her, and pressing their bodies tightly together.
The chill of the night was banished, and Jiang Shuyin only felt warmth. Sometimes she felt too hot and struggled to roll away, and sometimes she felt too cold and went back to find the heater.
Avery stared at her with his eyes open, a deep smile playing on his lips.
As dawn approached, I sensed something was amiss. After searching the carpet for a while, I found... an egg?
Its azure color was like lake water, covered with ice patterns. It felt like it would freeze the blood in your hands. Aifuli didn't dare to hold it for long, his eyes shining.
He looked at the egg, then at her.
