Chapter 66 Flirting with a Monster

Shangguan Chen's car kept a distance of 200 meters from Xie Yin's, and they drove into the parking space under the trees below the office building, one after the other.

After Xie Yin took the elevator up, Shangguan Chen's car slowly drove in and parked under the shade of a tree some distance away.

The pillars on the outside of the first floor are made of marble, the floor is very clean and reflective, and the high ceiling makes the interior very well lit. This is his first time here.

Liu Sisi works as a receptionist here and has seen many presidents and big bosses, but it is rare to see someone so young in a wheelchair. After registering them, she learned that they were there for a meeting and gave them directions: "The meeting at four o'clock this afternoon is in the multimedia room on the top floor."

"Thank you." The butler turned his head away.

Liu Sisi shook her head: What a pity.

Various slogans were hung on the elevator walls, and the time it took to climb the floors was enough for Shangguan Chen to quickly glance through them.

He liked the strong political atmosphere and the sense of order it conveyed.

There was a floor plan at the entrance. After entering the meeting room smoothly, I found several people chatting inside. All three parties were present, and nameplates were placed on the seats. I took my assigned seat.

At exactly four o'clock, Minister Hu arrived just in time: "Excuse me, I had to take care of something. I hope I didn't take up too much of your time?"

If it weren't for the meeting, he would have liked to talk to Xie Yin a little longer.

All three parties suspected that Minister Hu was trying to intimidate them, so they only smiled faintly, barely moving any muscles except for the corners of their eyes and mouths.

The conference room was spacious and bright, simply decorated, with a few potted green plants as decorations, and people's voices could be heard without obstruction.

On Shangguan Chen's side, someone recorded the conversation and someone else was responsible for analyzing it. He was just there to express his willingness to be the mascot.

At 5:18, the meeting ended early. Shangguan Chen didn't leave in a hurry. Xue Zheng walked around from the other side and punched him: "You're in good spirits. Everyone was quite worried about you. Some people actually said that you came to this city because you were heartbroken and wanted to find a girlfriend. I really laughed. How could that be?"

Shangguan Chen took a sip of hot tea: "Anything is possible. Let me come to your place for a visit."

The butler, peering out the window, said, "They're gone."

Xue Zheng narrowed his eyes: "What kind of riddle are you playing?"

"It's nothing. Let's go to your house for a visit. I don't want to go back tonight." Shangguan Chen finished his tea in small sips, put down the cup, and wheeled himself out the door.

The people waiting at the elevator door all got off.

Upon reaching the first floor, Liu Sisi greeted Xue Zheng warmly. Xue Zheng smiled and waved, then turned back, a cold sneer playing on his lips: "This woman..."

"It's not a good man to talk behind someone's back," Xue Zheng stopped himself, and only after walking down the steps did he complain to Shangguan Chen, "I originally wanted to get to know another woman, and even bought her a drink, but she wouldn't give me her contact information. I'm so angry..."

Shangguan Chen's eyes flickered slightly. He fiddled with his phone for a moment, then tapped on a picture to show him: "Is it her?"

Xue Zheng was shocked and didn't know what to say for a moment. He stared at his brother for a long time: "...You don't mean this is your ex-girlfriend, and you really chased her here?"

Shangguan Chen turned off the screen, looked out the window, and said slowly, "Don't have any feelings for her."

Xue Zheng chuckled and raised an eyebrow: "I know the principle that one should not covet a friend's wife."

Shangguan Chen smiled; he liked hearing those words.

Xie Yin, who left early, did not go home. He parked his car in the Garden Community and sent a message to Jiang Shu.

The battle last night was intense, and he didn't see the result before dawn.

After sending the message, Jiang Shu hesitated for a long time before replying: Five minutes.

Five minutes passed in the blink of an eye. Jiang Shu brought someone over, and habitually opened the passenger door and sat down next to him.

"Did Minister Hu also contact you?"

“I went to find him. It was just the two of us going to An City. We set off first to meet at the central base. Our destination was near the west coast of Country M in the Atlantic Ocean.”

Xie Yin glanced at her sideways, while Jiang Shuyin frowned slightly, seemingly lost in thought.

Suppressing her turbulent thoughts, she turned to him and asked, "When are we leaving?"

Their eyes met for a fleeting moment, then she looked away. Xie Yin shifted his position, moving even closer to her.

"tomorrow."

The deep, magnetic voice seemed to be right next to my ear, carrying a gentle breath as it entered.

Jiang Shuyin's face was half red from the heat. She pressed her face against the car door, her hand covering her lips: "Then come find me tomorrow."

"Okay," Xie Yin replied.

His gaze remained fixed on her; he had noticed last time that her ears seemed particularly prone to allergies: "Do you need some anti-allergy medication?"

He pointed to his pink earlobe, which was as beautiful as the color of a peach.

But soon, after he finished speaking, the pink turned into a bright red berry. Jiang Shuyin didn't suspect that he did it on purpose, but she felt awkward about flirting with a monster.

She couldn't even identify the creature itself; if it were a snake, tentacles, a rotting zombie, or worms, she absolutely couldn't accept it.

Xie Yin was still waiting for her answer. His calm eyes revealed a composed and calm demeanor, making people feel that he was a reliable and dependable person. Jiang Shuyin's eyes changed from resistance to confusion, so Xie Yin repeated himself.

Jiang Shuyin lowered her eyes and smiled, "No need, I get like this when I'm hot."

Xie Yin glanced at the thermometer; the temperature inside the car was 22 degrees Celsius, and the outside temperature was 21 degrees Celsius, only 1 degree higher.

Xie Yin didn't know the child's condition until Jiang Shuyin left, and could only check on him again that night.

After driving back home, I first prepared my luggage for tomorrow's departure.

He only had the two pieces of clothing that Jiang Shuyin had bought for him, and they could all fit in a briefcase.

After tidying up and sitting on the sofa, as night fell, the body, having shed its mimicry, collapsed and rapidly expanded into black mist, spreading outwards.

The people upstairs are not home.

Xie Yin would glance at him every night before leaving.

Looking back, how amazing.

His body spread throughout the garden community, and his consciousness flashed over to find that the curtains were drawn today.

Light streamed through the curtains, creating a soft and warm atmosphere inside. He could hear children's laughter, but there were no unfamiliar voices.
