Chapter 85 Mermaids Come Ashore

Jiang Shuyin glanced around.

The valuable gold has already been taken away, leaving behind only worthless diamond fragments, silver ornaments, pearls, and so on.

She then suggested, "You can take everything you like here with you."

Alvin looked delighted, waved his hand, and all the jewelry in the container was stored in his spatial storage, so the jewelry didn't take up much space.

The spot in the supermarket displaying the yacht is empty; survivors have been there.

She didn't linger in the supermarket for long, taking Alvin straight to the nearest land.

Jiang Shuyin: System, do me a favor and see if there's anyone nearby.

There are no surveillance cameras or intelligent living beings within a 500-meter radius.

She swam ashore with peace of mind. After being in the water for so long, she felt a little out of sorts when she suddenly came ashore, as her legs hadn't felt the weight of solid ground for a long time.

I stomped my feet on the ground alternately.

Alvin had never seen such a vast expanse of land; it stretched as far as the eye could see, like the sea.

When he swam ashore, a miraculous change occurred.

As his lower body left the water, his fishtail slowly parted, transforming into a pair of long and elegant legs.

The process of this transformation was as incredible as magic.

The lines of her legs were smooth and beautiful, yet powerful. As the shape gradually became clear, Jiang Shuyin immediately looked away.

I handed him a set of clothes, which I had just bought at the supermarket; size L should be correct.

The clothes got wet and were sticking to my skin.

Jiang Shuyin gathered dry branches on the shore and started a fire. The temperature was a bit low, so she wanted to dry her clothes quickly so she wouldn't have to change them.

She had been wearing this outfit ever since she left home, and if it hadn't been soaking in water, it probably would have smelled terrible.

"How...should I wear this?"

Alvin held the pants up and down, staring at her dumbfounded.

Jiang Shu turned her head back, her pupils suddenly contracting.

Alvin—no...that thing.

"Are you really a man?"

Alvin nodded blankly, then hesitated, "Sister says it doesn't look like it, does it?"

Jiang Shuyin lowered her head slightly, looking at the ground.

Is Alvin physically disabled? How could he not have a reproductive system?

She moved her lips, her mind a jumbled mess.

Human forces have entered within 500 meters.

Jiang Shuyin quickly pushed him down, put her trouser legs over his feet, and then picked him up and pulled up his trousers.

Her hands were shaking as she pulled up the zipper.

No, it's not invisible.

After completing the set of movements, I was a little out of breath: "Did you learn it? I helped you this time because someone is coming. Put on a hat and hide your hair."

His hair was so eye-catching that Jiang Shuyin took out a black woolen hat and handed it to him.

Alvin tucked his damp hair into his hat, feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

The troops came following the smoke, raising their guns, each with a silencer, and pointing them at her and Alvin's heads.

"Where are you from?" The person who spoke spoke in A language. Jiang Shuyin could say a few words: "We are mission takers from Z country. We were swept far away by the previous tsunami and just swam ashore. This is a friend I rescued. He is probably traumatized and can't speak."

She also held out her bracelet, which had received two messages at some point.

Jiang Shuyin clicked to read it; it was sent by Xie Yin.

—When the United States was flooded, we provided assistance for less than five days before being called back.

—You're currently undergoing intensive training at the central base, and you need to have a chip installed. I'll wait for you here.

Jiang Shuyin replied: Okay.

The group of men with guns put them away when they saw her bracelet.

After she replied to the message, the person who had spoken earlier nodded to her:

"Sorry, I'm Pete, the captain of the coast guard here. I mistook you for a mutant. They're very intelligent now. We were fooled once, so we'll be very strict with our checks. Could you please have your companion get a serum test first?"

"The serum costs 1 mission point. If you want to return to China, there are no flights available now. A private jet costs 6,000 points per trip."

Jiang Shuyin checked her points and found she had just enough to go back to China.

This mission was really not worth it.

"Okay, could you please give me directions?"

Pete pointed to the man at the back of the group. Only a pair of bright green eyes were visible between the helmet and gas mask. He had long eyelashes and delicate, deep-set eyes that looked affectionate at everyone.

"Ro, take them to the base for serum testing."

Ro frowned slightly and reluctantly turned to walk back.

With two problems solved at once, Pete breathed a sigh of relief, and the team continued patrolling the coastline.

Jiang Shuyin was queuing up to have her serum tested. Everyone who returned from a mission at the base had to have their serum tested, even if it was just for five minutes.

The people conducting the tests were so busy they didn't even have time to look up, so Jiang Shuyin took advantage of the lull to drip her own blood into Alvin's test tube.

After they finished doing all that, Ro was still waiting for them outside, sitting on a bench with his gun in his arms, while the ordinary people around him kept their distance.

"Go to the helicopter or go through the check-in process?" Ro looked at her, his eyes indifferent.

Jiang Shuyin: "Helicopter, thank you."

Knowing that tipping is common abroad, I wondered if that was why Ro followed her up: "Do you need a tip?"

Ro paused for a moment, then narrowed his cold eyes: "No need."

"I'm more curious about how someone who's been missing for twenty days survived."

Jiang Shuyin has extensive experience in writing novels, and making up a story on the spot is easy for her: "Have you read Robinson Crusoe? It's similar. We lived in the tallest tower for a long time. When we were short of food, we would take turns going to Walmart to get food. Several times we almost died in the water."

Ro glanced at her: "All the mission takers from Country Z have special abilities. What is your special ability?"

Jiang Shuyin spread her hands and made a fist: "Power-type ability."

Ro raised an eyebrow and looked away, saying, "It's over there. You can go there yourselves."

There were many people here, and people like her who wanted to return to their home countries were crowding in with their families. Ro turned around and disappeared into the crowd.

Jiang Shuyin stood there for a while, then took Alvin's hand to prevent him from being separated from the others.

After learning that he didn't have any tools to commit the crime, Jiang Shuyin stopped keeping her distance from him.

Alvin had candy in his mouth, and his eyes were curved the whole time.
