Chapter 91 Two Men and One Woman

The next morning, Alvin saw the black mist slowly drifting through the wall.

The black mist gradually shrank, becoming so dense that its churning and compressing state was no longer visible, and it had already taken on a human shape.

Xie Yin looked at him with a smile: "Not asleep?"

Alvin glared resentfully until the kitchen repairman arrived, at which point he finally relaxed.

The former contractor found this job in the apocalypse through connections.

After the assessment, he politely quoted Jiang Shu a reasonable number: "300 contribution points or 500 task points. We can get it done in an afternoon."

If you don't like being disturbed, you can contact us for on-site repairs when needed.

Having worked as a contractor for decades, his eye for detail is impeccable.

Upon entering the room, the foreman saw two men and one woman. The woman spoke to him first, and the foreman understood immediately.

Both of these men are being kept by sugar daddies.

I guess they had a falling out last night, and he couldn't treat everyone equally, so he's threatening suicide.

Otherwise, how could a perfectly good kitchen gas stove explode?

Jiang Shu transferred 300 from her contribution points account: "I'll contact you later."

She felt much better after spending contribution points.

Turning around, seeing Xiaoyuer's timid appearance, I couldn't bring myself to say anything harsh.

"Remember what I said last time, you're not allowed in the kitchen."

Alvin nodded his head like a chick pecking at rice, being incredibly obedient.

His skin was extremely fair, and any blemishes on his face were particularly noticeable.

I haven't slept for two nights in a row, and my dark circles are so bad I look like a panda.

Jiang Shu asked him, "Didn't you sleep well last night? What happened?"

Alvin glanced weakly at Xie Yin and said, "It's nothing, I just felt like I couldn't do anything right, and I wanted to help Xiao Yin."

Xie Yin smiled helplessly, his eyes remaining unchanged.

Jiang Shuyin: "Alright, if you two want to stay here, try to get along. If you really can't get along..."

Alvin and Xie Yin both looked up at her.

Jiang Shuyin smiled and said jokingly, "I'll just pick one person to sleep on the sofa."

The two of them lowered their lips, their disappointment evident at a glance.

"Alright, the kitchen is ruined, but we still need to eat breakfast. Let's go downstairs and get something to eat."

Food is the most important thing for people. It can not only fill their stomachs, but also heal their souls.

It's no exaggeration to say that the central base is the most humane.

At eight or nine in the morning, there were still vendors burning in their stoves.

The base specifically created a market for those of them who needed a livelihood.

The space was limited, and each person had very little room to sit; they could only take their food to go.

But they were already quite satisfied. The price wasn't cheap; a basket of small buns cost 3 task points. The high price was due to the raw materials; flour, water, and filling all needed to be purchased. Fortunately, the stall fee was free.

Jiang Shuyin ordered two baskets, and one bite revealed that they were vegetarian.

She carried one bag, and they split the other one.

There was barbecue being sold in the morning, and Jiang Shu's mouth watered, so she bought ten skewers and had to wait a while.

She then turned around and looked around.

The most popular stall was surprisingly selling steamed buns; the buns were piping hot, and there weren't many left.

The little old lady waiting held a stainless steel bowl, her gaze lingering for a long time before she finally took two, seemingly reluctant to part with either.

There was also a tanned man who bought the rest in one go.

The owner placed the last steamer basket on the table. It was freshly steamed, and the steam was carried by the wind, bringing with it the long-lost aroma of wheat.

"Hey beautiful, your skewers are ready."

Ten skewers of chives sprinkled with cumin and chili powder smell delicious.

It goes perfectly with steamed buns; it's filling and satisfying.

When she went over to take a look, the steamed buns were not what she had imagined. They were hard and stiff, as if the dough hadn't been proofed, but they were quite large.

The boss asked her, "How many do you want? With your build, one should be enough for you."

Seeing that Jiang Shuyin hadn't brought any tools for packing, the boss casually grabbed a bag and waited.

"Then let's take one."

She prefers soft and fluffy steamed buns.

The shop owner quickly handed her a bag and packed it away. Seeing that she was a new face, he kindly reminded her, "Remember to bring your own things next time, otherwise you'll have to pay extra."

Jiang Shuyin nodded and casually asked, "This steamed bun business probably doesn't make much money, does it?"

The boss's face was covered in sweat from the steam. He wiped it with the towel around his neck and nodded, saying, "Yes, it's all about volume. My stuff is filling. Some people who can't afford to eat can just have one steamed bun a day to get through the hard times."

Jiang Shuyin led Xie Yin and Alvin out through another exit.

They discovered that none of the buns in their bags had been touched.

"Aren't you going to eat?"

Alvin extended his scalded fingertip, his eyes brimming with tears: "It hurts—"

Xie Yin glanced at him and rubbed his fingertips.

Jiang Shuyin pressed her finger against his finger and said, "It's okay, just soak it in cold water when you get back."

"Hmm." Alvin looked down at her, a smile playing on his lips.

Jiang Shuyin ignored him and thought that since she was already downstairs, she might as well go to the superpowered individuals department, earn some mission points, and go home.

On the way, I saw several suspicious-looking men, who had become extremely thin, with loose skin, and their eyes were scanning the crowd.

When Jiang Shu led him over, the man's eyes lit up when he saw her, but he hesitated when he saw the two people behind her.

Who are these people?

The skinny man followed her for a while, but when he realized she was heading to the office building for people with superpowers, he immediately turned around and ran away.

Jiang Shuyin went directly to the reception hall, but there was a queue.

She took a number and wandered around the lobby.

Seeing the window for replacing wristbands, I thought I'd get one for Alvin too.

This way, you can learn a lot and also easily tell time to develop a sense of time, so you don't stay up all day.

Upon learning that an ID number was required, Jiang Shuyin gave up, since Alvin was an unregistered resident.

How did Xie Yin manage that? She looked at him curiously.

He smiled gently at her with his calm eyes, his gaze seeming to say, 'What's wrong?'

Just as she was about to speak, the pager called the number of the person in front of her.
