After returning to his room, Xing Zhengfei waited several days before seeing the starship's leader. He saw Nona there, along with several creatures with loose skin standing to the side, discussing something in a strange language.
Nona learns languages very slowly and still can't understand what's being said here. It's fortunate that this is the case, otherwise Xing Zhengfei's words, which were sometimes true and sometimes false, wouldn't have been questioned last time.
There's no need to worry about the mutants on the Covenant side. Even if their testimonies are inconsistent, the starship leader won't be too suspicious because the two sides have different stances. Who knows how much of what the Covenant says is true?
After Xing Zhengfei stood still, the starship leader said something that was hard to understand, and the creatures standing to the side came over and started groping Xing Zhengfei and Nona.
Nona couldn't stand their actions; they pinched and sniffed everything, even prying open her mouth to examine her teeth: "Get away, get away, you rude guys..."
Historians don't care about her attitude. In their eyes, Xing Zhengfei and Nona are living relics, only worthy of research.
Xing Zhengfei was also a bit annoyed. Several people were pinching his private parts, which he had never used before, but it was still a private area, and he was angry when it was violated.
The starship captain saw everyone's reactions and was finally saved just when Xing Zhengfei was about to give up.
The scholar was pulled away and sent out. The starship captain comforted him for a couple of minutes and then asked Xing Zhengfei, "I've had someone open that little thing on you. Read the message on it to me, but first, put on the lie detector."
Xing Zhengfei saw the cold device. The lie detector looked a lot like an electrocardiogram monitor, with six sets of lines of different colors. It judged the truthfulness of the person's words based on their physiological reactions and changes in brain waves when lying.
After putting it on, Xing Zhengfei saw his phone being handed to him. He picked it up, paused for a moment, and the starship leader urged, "Hurry up, I hate people who keep you in suspense the most."
The screen unlocked, Xing Zhengfei tapped the red dot, and swallowed hard.
Mother: Where did you go?
Mother: Don't be impulsive.
The starship captain gasped when he saw water welling up in the creature's eyes and quickly asked, "What is it? Tell me!"
Xing Zhengfei said, half sad and half boastful, "Before I left, my mother sent me a message asking where I was and telling me not to act impulsively. I haven't been able to bear reading it and have kept it as a memento."
The starship captain saw that the lie detector hadn't lit up, so he guessed that the man wasn't lying. He then used this opportunity to ask, "Tell me about your family situation, and the planet and social environment at that time."
Xing Zhengfei was wearing a lie detector. He didn't know how powerful it was, but he could choose to downplay the truth and answer the truth: "The first person I saw when I was born was my father. He was very strict and strong. My mother was gentle and always cared about me when I was away. I also had many brothers and sisters."
Ancient Earth was a planet where water covered more of its surface than land, teeming with life. Humans were at the top of the food chain. We, infected with the virus, were called "new humans," but we weren't accepted by them; we were abandoned. Only my family still treats me the same as before.
Starship Captain: "...Alright, forget about your family. Now tell me, what industry is the most profitable on your side, and what is the most powerful weapon in your army?"
Xing Zhengfei hesitated for a moment, then, under the watchful eyes of the starship leader with his fists clenched, he said, "Back then, I did kidnapping. It was the fastest way to make money. I don't know about anything else. It was an easy job, and it was good for training people."
As for the army's weapons, I don't know. I've heard they're missiles and nuclear weapons. The army won't accept someone like me, and I don't know what they use. Their technology isn't as advanced as ours; spaceships are already at the pinnacle of technology there.
The starship captain's lips twitched for a moment, then he rubbed his forehead: I didn't expect to run into a fellow traveler. If he really is a prehistoric creature, wouldn't he be the ancestor of all?
Having been asked so many questions, Xing Zhengfei also had his doubts. He tentatively asked, "Could you tell me how people here reproduce?"
The starship captain was momentarily stunned: "It means extracting the genetic pheromones and combining them with the pair of genetic pheromones that match the highest in the gene pool. Two years later, you can go to the childcare center to adopt your own child."
Xing Zhengfei then asked, "Do people like me have genetic pheromones?"
The starship captain figured it out: "You want children, right? I understand. I didn't understand when I was young, but now that I'm middle-aged, I have the urge to have offspring. You must be getting on in years. I'll call a childcare center to come and take a look at you another day."
She also comforted him, saying, "Every living thing has genetic pheromones, your child will have them too."
Xing Zhengfei didn't know how much longer he had to live, but all the secrets he carried needed to be passed down to someone, and that person had to be his closest and most trustworthy.
It also has to be a person, preferably a girl, because he likes girls.
It's warm and soft, and quite small.
After confirming that Xing Zhengfei had genetic pheromones, the Starship leader used the child to get him to do things for him. Xing Zhengfei's special identity was a tempting bait in the eyes of some families, and the Starship leader took advantage of the families who took the bait, making a lot of dirty money.
Xing Zhengfei had several near-death experiences, and the starship leader always said, "Next time, the next time we make another fortune, we'll raise your child. Raising a child takes a lot of money, so save it up first, don't rush."
Xing Zhengfei was exceptionally obedient, and the starship leader found him to be very useful, so he kept him by his side. This allowed Xing Zhengfei to come into contact with a lot of advanced technology and knowledge.
He learned many secrets, such as that these creatures were very fragile and would soon be killed by radiation if they left the protection of high technology.
For example, the compatibility between one's own pheromones and the creatures in the Covenant is low, with a maximum of only 35.68%, requiring many training sessions to obtain a healthy and normal child.
