Chapter 76 [Teaching Sevier a Lesson]

Chapter 76 [Teaching Sevier a Lesson]

As expected, Yuriel vehemently opposed Mela's plan to bring Severi along on their journey.

For the first time, she sneered at Mela: "The fact that I haven't cursed this blond-haired, golden-eyed brat to die in the worst possible way is one of the few acts of mercy I can show to a child."

"If this makes you happier, then please do so," Mela said, seemingly having seriously considered Yuriel's words.

"You!" But the result stopped Yuriel's emotions from being released, preventing her from continuing to vent.

Others might not know, but surely Mela and Yuriel, these two genuine witches, knew what the so-called "witch's curse" was all about.

The idea that those cursed by witches will immediately suffer terrible misfortune and bring misfortune to their entire families is entirely a fabrication by ordinary people out of fear. If witches' curses were truly so effective, the person sitting on the throne today shouldn't still be named Nurengel.

Yuriel was just blinded by anger when she said those harsh words.

Now that Mela had choked on her words, she actually calmed down a bit.

Why do you insist on helping him?

The reason I don't want Mela is actually very simple: "You said it yourself, he's still a child."

Most people tend to be more tolerant of the elderly and children, just as Yuriel, despite her stubbornness, never actually cast a painful spell on Sevier.

"...Whatever, I'm not going to care about him anyway."

Because of Mela's insistence, Yuriel finally gave in.

“Then let’s get ready to go,” Mela said with a smile, knowing that Yuriel couldn’t really bring herself to refuse.

Of course, before that, you need to buy a cloak to cover up Severi's eye-catching hair.

Mela finally managed to win over Yuriel, but then Sevier suddenly changed his mind and refused to leave with them.

He was still reeling from the ordeal, his mind reeling, but now he finally realized that Mela and Yuriel were no ordinary people. They were clearly not human, and even the pigeons that could only communicate with humans were blatantly telling him this.

He encountered two terrible witches.

Listen to this! One of the witches is even yelling that she wants to curse him!

How could Sevier still dare to walk with them?

What if Mela also has ill intentions towards him?

After all, she's on Lex's side!

That was undoubtedly his enemy, Severi!

"What are you thinking about?" Mela looked Sevier up and down with a puzzled expression, who was sticking his neck out and pretending to be tough. "I don't think I asked for your opinion, did I?"

In other words, whether or not Severi wanted to go with them, he had to go, because Mela had no intention of giving him a choice.

"Why should I!" Severi jumped up like a grasshopper whose foot had been stepped on.

“You can’t slip away right under my nose.” Mela grabbed Severi by the collar without any hesitation. “Let’s go. Don’t waste our time. We haven’t even started our journey yet. If we don’t reach the next town by tonight, you’ll have to spend the night in a dark, damp cave.”

"Who knows, a snake might crawl in in the middle of the night," Mela said with a smirk, uttering a threat.

Severi observed that her expression when she said these words did not seem fake, and subconsciously shrank her neck and immediately fell silent.

He didn't want to open his eyes in the middle of the night and make eye contact with a snake.

Of course, it's impossible for Sevier, who was taught by Elijah from a young age to think that everyone has to coax and indulge him, to become completely obedient.

He would complain that the carriage Mela rented was too small, or that the food served at the inn where Mela stayed was too bad. When faced with a long walk, he would even sit on a large rock and refuse to move.

“I told you we shouldn’t have brought him along.” Yuriel watched Sevier throw a tantrum with indifference, but felt a sense of triumph when facing Mela.

“I also think this brat is nowhere near as good as Lex.” Silas landed on a tree branch overhead, staring at Severi with disdain, wishing he could persuade Mela to leave him in the middle of nowhere and let him suffer more.

However, Mela didn't seem angry at all, and even asked Severi meaningfully, "You really don't want to leave?"

"That's right! I'm not leaving!"

Although Severi's intuition subtly reminded him that it was best not to antagonize Mela, he had never even been given the cold shoulder by King Nurenger IX in his life, so how could he possibly be willing to bow down to Mela?

“Okay, then let’s rest here for a while,” Mela said to Yuriel.

Yuriel wanted to say something, but then she felt that Mela didn't really intend to indulge Severi's willful temper, so she swallowed her words and waited to see how Mela would deal with the little brat.

Severi thought Mela had given in to him and was smugly humming when he suddenly started sneezing incessantly.

"Ha Qiu!"

"Ha Qiu!"

No matter how hard Severi tried, he couldn't stop the sneezing.

His nose started to throb with pain.

"What kind of spell is this? I don't think I've ever heard of it before." Yuriel glanced at Sevier a few more times, which was unusual for her.

You should know that these past two days, she hasn't even bothered to give Severi a second glance, always walking to the side without looking at him.

Mela raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised. "The sneeze spell, a little spell that makes people sneeze non-stop, you've never heard of it from Erica? I learned it from her."

“…My aunt would never teach me such a silly trick that’s only good for pranks.” Yuriel turned her face away, feigning indifference.

Mela knew that she was in her old habit again, jealous of Erica and her.

"You wretched witch, I command you to immediately break the spell on me!"

After hearing what Mela and Yuriel had just said, Severi immediately realized that Mela was responsible for his disheveled state. He was furious and wanted to stomp his feet in protest.

Unfortunately, he sneezed several more times, only to be met with merciless ridicule from Mela.

"Knowing I'm a witch, you still dare to throw a tantrum at me? When it comes to being sensible, you can't even catch up to Lex on horseback."

"Shut up! Shut up! I could never lose to that pathetic wretch! If his mother hadn't become queen first, I would definitely be the rightful crown prince!"

Even the constant sneezing couldn't stop Sevier from unleashing a torrent of angry curses.

He had never met Lex.

Because of Elijah's authority, no one would bring up the fact that he had an older brother to Severi, especially since Lex's disappearance back then was clearly related to Elijah.

Regardless of the circumstances, Severi is the biggest beneficiary of Lex's disappearance, and Elia's indifferent tears cannot erase the doubts in everyone's hearts.

Unfortunately, Severi overheard two maids talking in a corner, saying that he was inferior to Prince Lex in every way, which explained why he had never been named the new crown prince by His Majesty the King.

Severi didn't believe it.

He jumped out and loudly questioned the two maids, asking who Lex was.

The two maids immediately shut their mouths, trembling, and refused to say another word.

Severi had no choice but to go to his teacher, Fawson Gardner, in a huff and ask him who Lex was.

Upon hearing the name Lex, Fursen's ever-smiling expression changed. He looked at Severi with pity, remained silent for a long time, and then said, "Your Highness Lex is your elder brother, and also the Crown Prince who was once praised by everyone."

“Impossible! My mother said I’m her only child!” Sevier didn’t believe it.

“Because Prince Lex’s mother is not Princess Elijah, but the late Princess Lilyles,” Furson sighed.

"You mean, before my mother, Father married another woman and made her queen?" Sevier was so surprised that he backed away, his mind filled with disbelief.

Elijah always told him that she and Nurenger IX had finally overcome all obstacles to be together, and that he was their most beloved child, and that they would entrust the entire kingdom to him in the future.

As for why he hasn't been made crown prince yet, it's simply because he's still too young.

"No, I have to ask my mother! I only believe what she says!"

With red eyes, Severi ran out of the study, his hurried footsteps echoing in the empty corridor, knocking over several maids along the way.

However, Elia's reaction disappointed Severi. Her face darkened, and she gripped his shoulders tightly with both hands, saying in a deep voice, "My dear little Riel, you don't need to care about a dead man. He can no longer stand in your way and stop you from sitting on the throne."

So, he really does have a half-brother? Sevier was stunned.

Furthermore, this older brother was recognized by King Nurenger IX and others. So much so that even after he had been missing for so many years, some people still privately felt sorry for him.

From that day on, Severi suddenly became obsessed with finding out about Lex's past, and even made it his goal to get Fernando to acknowledge him, become his teacher, and personally say that Lex was inferior to him.

But if anyone were to hear Severi say that he was inferior to Lex, he would be enraged and smash their head open with whatever he could grab.

Little did he know that his actions would only make everyone miss the days when Lex was still around.

"If you keep causing trouble, believe me, I have the tickling spell and the laughing spell to give you a taste of all of them!"

Mela didn't know why Severi suddenly got excited again, but she had plenty of experience dealing with spoiled kids like Severi.

So she calmly uttered a sentence, and saw Severi come to an abrupt halt as if a duck had been choked.

For the first time, Severi understood what it meant to be sensible.

That means no matter how much you resent it, don't go against someone who can torment you.

Mela really made him experience being itchy all over, no matter how much he scratched, it didn't work; and laughing uncontrollably until his voice became hoarse.

Yuriel watched with awe as Mela taught Severi a lesson, her eyes wide with amazement.

It turns out that although these spells don't seem very powerful, they are really effective at disciplining people.

Sure enough, Severi was as docile as a quail. As long as Mela was watching him attentively, he would immediately straighten his pursed lips and dare not cause any more trouble.

So, children's disobedience is purely due to adults spoiling them. A good scolding will make them behave.
