Chapter Seventy-Six

The room was quiet, except for the nine-tailed fox who had been left outside, who silently listened from the corner of the wall.

Having long held the position of a supreme deity, Shu Yun had not felt uncomfortable under the gaze of others for a long time.

"I've already said it's not like that..."

Jiang Yan looked up at her, "Not like that?"

"Didn't we live together, eat and drink together, and sleep in the same bed?"

Shu Yun frowned. "Where can we sleep in the same bed?"

Feng Ziyi's face darkened. "So, you really are living with this kid?"

"..."

Shu Yun, who hadn't thought anything of it before, now felt that no matter how she put it, it was wrong.

Shu Yun sighed, stopped worrying, and simply answered frankly, "Yes."

Compared to Feng Ziyi, who was blinded by anger, and Zi'e, who was lost in thought and felt that her god had done something extremely inappropriate, Siming was much faster in calming down from her shock and curiosity.

Zi'e and Feng Ziyi may not have noticed, but he sensed a strong demonic aura emanating from Jiang Yan. This was an intuition that Zi'e and Feng Ziyi, who had never faced and fought against powerful demons, would not have.

Si Ming could sense that Jiang Yan's demonic energy was unusual; he was at least not a simple minor demonic cultivator. The demonic energy that leaked out at that moment was exceptionally powerful and carried killing intent. Although it dissipated quickly, he still keenly perceived it.

However... strong demonic energy doesn't necessarily mean someone is part of the demon army; they might just be a carefree demonic cultivator.

While Feng Ziyi and Shu Yun were arguing, Si Ming would occasionally steal glances at Jiang Yan, who was quietly staying by Shu Yun's side.

After a while, the other person, who had been staring at Shu Yun's dark eyes, looked over at her.

Si Ming's eyes met Jiang Yan's. Jiang Yan's deep, unreadable black eyes made him frown.

Why are you protecting him so much?

Feng Ziyi was extremely unhappy.

When he was undergoing his tribulation in the mortal realm, he was overshadowed by Jiang Yan, who was also a mortal at the time. Although he successfully overcame his tribulation and became an upright and honest prime minister who went down in history, Jiang Yan was his superior in the history books.

Putting aside the open and covert struggles between the two in the mortal realm over the years, after he returned from his tribulation, Shu Yun was unusually angry with him because of his secret targeting of Jiang Yan.

Shu Yun retorted, "Why are you targeting Jiang Yan like that?"

“He…” Feng Ziyi paused. He couldn’t very well say that he still held a grudge against Jiang Yan from when they were mortals, because that would make him seem petty.

"He has ulterior motives."

“I know,” Shu Yun said, feeling a bit of a headache as she thought of what Jiang Yan had said to her before. “Stop talking nonsense.”

Feng Ziyi raised her voice, "You know?!"

"You know you're still spending time with him, so you haven't fallen for him too, have you?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yan's fingertips curled slightly, and he withdrew his gaze from Si Ming. His eyelashes drooped, and he did not turn his head to look at Shu Yun, but his tense body betrayed his nervousness.

Shu Yun really wanted to shut Feng Ziyi up and throw him back to the Ninth Heaven. Jiang Yan was sitting right next to her. Why didn't he think before he spoke?

"No." Even though Jiang Yan was right beside her, Shu Yun hesitated for a moment before finally saying those two words.

Jiang Yan's tense body relaxed inch by inch, her head still hanging down. It was the answer she expected, nothing to be surprised about.

Feng Ziyi didn't relax because of Shu Yun's words. He observed Shu Yun's expression and clenched his fingers. "You..."

You don't seem to have none...

A wisp of demonic energy ripped through the sky and descended, striking the pier where Shu Yun and the others were located.

Shu Yun and Jiang Yan were the first to notice. When Jiang Yan reached out to pull Shu Yun, he grabbed nothing.

His expression changed, and he looked up to see Shu Yun turning to pull Feng Ziyi.

Why is it always like this? Why can't he ever gain a place in her heart no matter what he does?

A crimson light rose in his eyes, and the evil energy within him surged. Jiang Yan closed his eyes tightly, suppressing his demonic nature, and was the first to leave the pier.

The nine-tailed fox that had been waiting outside had long since disappeared.

Shu Yuncai had no time to care about Feng Ziyi's expression and thoughts. Zi'e and Siming's cultivation levels were far beyond what Feng Ziyi, this idle person, could compare to.

After grabbing the person, she turned around to call Jiang Yan, but there was no one behind her.

She paused for a moment, not having time to think further, and then took Feng Ziyi and slipped away.

Shu Yun tossed Feng Ziyi aside, leaped onto the clouds, and gazed into the distance. Si Ming and Zi E followed.

In the distance, the celestial and demonic energies had already intertwined, and a group of demons surrounded the surrounding mountains, well-distributed, clearly indicating that they had come prepared.

The demons that had invaded from the inner circle clashed with the gods and immortals of the Nine Heavens. The people of the Nine Heavens were outnumbered, but strangely, the demons did not exterminate them. Instead, they went in and out of the various towers, as if searching for something.

Shu Yun withdrew her gaze from the distance and looked around.

"The situation isn't good..." Siming saw her movements. "What is the High God looking for?"

Shu Yun didn't see Jiang Yan, and her brow twitched. "Where's Jiang Yan?"

"this……"

Si Ming didn't pay any attention at all; he only saw that when the demonic energy attacked, he left alone early on.

Shu Yun led the group towards the outer circle, saying, "I'll see you off first."

Zi'e pulled Feng Ziyi close behind, and judging from her words, it seemed she wouldn't leave with them. "What about you, High God?"

I need to go find Jiang Yan.

What exactly is going on? Didn't Jiang Yan promise her that there would be no more war?

The demons guarding the outer circle saw Shu Yun from afar as she broke through their defenses and tore a hole in their line of defense.

They were no match for this Penglai Shangshu, but fortunately, he remained neutral.
