Chapter Sixty-Six

The person she had been longing for suddenly appeared before her, and he stood silently in place, accepting her scrutiny.

He originally planned to prepare for a while longer before daring to approach them, but now fate had delivered them right to his doorstep.

The emotions he had buried deep within him sprouted rapidly from the barren soil the moment he saw her, growing into a stem that gradually thickened and branched out wildly, becoming lush and verdant at an incredible speed.

He wanted to take off his mask immediately, get close to her, pull her into his arms, and never let go again.

But he didn't dare.

A century has passed, and the fleeting moments he spent with her seem insignificant compared to the long river of time. He was afraid, afraid that when he removed his mask, he would see an expression on her face that he didn't want to see.

Feared by numerous demonic cultivators and monsters, he lost his calm rationality in the face of any situation, and his heart, which was used to scheme and plot, beat uncontrollably.

He remained silent, and time and air seemed to freeze between the two of them.

Shu Yun's gaze never left him, and a heavy atmosphere filled the air.

The brick walls and tiled houses behind them looked dilapidated, and in the distance, only the two of them could be seen on the long street.

After a long pause, she finally spoke with difficulty, her voice tinged with doubt, "Jiang Yan?"

The masked man who had been standing still suddenly stiffened, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down.

Shu Yun's fingertips, hanging by her side, trembled almost imperceptibly, such a small arc that perhaps even she herself was unaware of it.

Her expression was complicated. "Is it really you?"

Jiang Yan covered the mask with her pale hand, removing the hideous green ghost from her face to reveal a beautiful face behind the mask.

Her skin was as white as snow, her eyes were upturned at the corners, forming perfect lines, and her features were as exquisite as before. However, her light-colored thin lips and dark eyes had become more bloodshot, and her expression carried a hint of evil. Compared to her indifferent and detached demeanor in the mortal world, she was more aggressive.

He held the word "Master" in his mouth, swirled it on his tongue, and then swallowed it. He didn't want to call her that anymore, but what else could he call her?

The orange-red afterglow of the setting sun shone on his incomparably handsome face. Jiang Yan responded, his voice deep and melodious: "It's me."

Seeing that Shu Yun stopped asking questions and made no other moves, Jiang Yan took the initiative to walk over and close the distance between the two, stopping when Shu Yun frowned.

His face remained expressionless, and his tone was calm. "Don't you have anything else to say to me?"

say what?

Shu Yun looked at him with a puzzled expression.

“For example…” Jiang Yan met her gaze, a mocking smile playing on his lips, “Why would you erase my memories?”

Shu Yun stared at him intently. Jiang Yan exuded a wicked aura, and when he looked at her with a smile, it was like a sharp blade being drawn from its sheath. He was so beautiful that it was dazzling, and his beautiful black eyes seemed to burn with a blazing fire, which made her feel a little overwhelmed.

She forced herself to remain calm and said, "Don't you know why your memories were erased?"

Jiang Yan remained silent upon hearing this, only pursing her lips tightly, her eyes seemingly shrouded in an unusually thick black mist.

Shu Yun didn't know why she didn't want to look him in the eye, so she turned her head away to avoid his gaze.

"It doesn't matter."

Jiang Yan's deep voice rang in my ears.

She was stunned. "What?"

Jiang Yan stepped forward, his pale hand grasping Shu Yun's slender wrist, tightening his grip. "It's alright to seal my memories, I won't hold it against you, but Master, you have to make it up to me."
