Chapter 34 The Regent's Sweet and Soft Physician Wife (34)

Long Fantian approached her slowly with a stern face.

As Mu Tiantian backed away, she swore, "Your Highness, I swear, I will never appear before you again..."

Snap!

Long Fantian slammed his hand on the table.

Mu Tiantian had nowhere to retreat, so she braced her lower back against the table.

Long Fantian's broad shoulders completely blocked her view, and as he looked down at her, he exuded an indescribable sense of oppression.

Seeing that his face had turned red with anger, Mu Tiantian nervously swallowed and quietly moved to the side. Long Fantian braced his other hand on the edge of the desk, trapping her in his arms.

"Your Highness...we can talk this out. I understand if you don't believe me. Can't we discuss this properly?" Mu Tiantian chuckled awkwardly. "You wouldn't go so far as to kill your savior to silence her, would you?"

Long Fantian frowned, his face showing pain. His head suddenly drooped, and Mu Tiantian subconsciously turned her head, wanting to push him away, but then realized something was wrong.

Suddenly, he slumped weakly against her shoulder, breathing rapidly, his mind seemingly clouded. "When...when...did I say I was going to kill you..."

Mu Tiantian quickly touched his forehead; it was burning hot.

Her hands were icy cold, making him want to touch them more.

Mu Tiantian had just removed her hand to support Long Fantian when suddenly her hand was grabbed and placed on his face, while his other hand reached around her back and wrapped around her waist.

She had just finished showering, and her body felt cool and refreshed, with a faint scent of milk and roses lingering around him.

Long Fantian struggled to sit up, his eyes glazed over as he looked at Mu Tiantian, mumbling incoherently, "Hot..."

As soon as he finished speaking, he slumped down, his foreheads touching.

Mu Tiantian could clearly feel the heat on his forehead and the burning temperature in his palms.

He had a high fever.

"Your Highness?" Mu Tiantian called softly.

Upon hearing that sweet voice, Long Fantian's ears softened, and his body temperature seemed to rise slightly.

He instinctively wanted to hug something that could cool him down, and his arms tightened around Mu Tiantian's waist.

Mu Tiantian quickly put her hands behind her back, wanting him to relax since he was holding her too tightly.

The more she squirmed, the more Long Fantian wanted to pull her into his arms, muttering repeatedly, "Hot..."

He pressed almost all of his weight onto her.

"Is it a fever or has she been drugged..." Mu Tiantian complained as she pushed him away forcefully.

Fortunately, he was weak and not very strong, so Mu Tiantian took a break and breathed a sigh of relief.

Qi Tong scanned his body and said, "He's been poisoned, and the wounds from his previous battles have reopened, causing a persistent high fever."

Mu Tiantian: [Is my medicine not working? That shouldn't be...]

Qi Tong: [It works, but he has too many injuries, so this situation is inevitable. In the past, he would have fainted long ago.]

Mu Tiantian quickly helped him out, and Qiu Feng, seeing this, hurriedly squatted down, intending to carry Long Fantian back to his room.

Who knew he would hold onto Mu Tiantian so tightly and refuse to let go?

Qiu Feng was also in a dilemma, and his eyes became much more wary as he looked at Mu Tiantian.

Mu Tiantian, with her imposing physique of nearly 190cm and 189cm, struggled to say to Qiufeng, "Go and buy me some medicinal herbs..."

She listed a long list of medicines and instructed, "After you buy them, grind them into powder according to the proportions I told you, and then boil the remaining herbs into a decoction and bring it to me."

Qiu Feng hesitated, worried about Long Fantian, and dared not leave just like that.

"Don't worry, I won't harm him. Besides, if it weren't for me, your prince would have died long ago. If you don't want him to die, go buy some medicine." Mu Tiantian tried her best to support Long Fantian so he wouldn't fall, but she didn't have the strength to argue with him, so her tone became a little urgent.

Qiu Feng also hurriedly went to buy medicine.

Mu Tiantian happened to see Chunyu and Dongxue returning and quickly called out, "Chunyu and Dongxue, come over and help carry him inside."

She feels extremely weak now, wondering if it's because she's been using too much internal energy lately, and her strength isn't what it used to be.

Spring Rain and Winter Snow exchanged a glance, but neither of them made a move to help.

“Miss Lin, the Prince has instructed us not to get close to him,” Chunyu said. “Or you could wait for Xia Yang to return.”

"Where is Xia Yang?" Mu Tiantian gently patted Long Fantian's face to wake him up and also to make him loosen his grip on her neck, as it was a bit too tight.

Upon hearing this, Dongxue wanted to turn around and find Xia Yang, but Chunyu secretly pulled her back and said to Mu Tiantian with an embarrassed look, "This... Xia Yang was sent out by the Prince on an errand and won't be back for a while."

"What about the other servants?" Mu Tiantian asked.

Before Chunyu could speak, a weak voice reached Mu Tiantian's ears, "This king... can walk by himself..."

As he spoke, he hooked his arm around Mu Tiantian and led her toward his room.

I don't know where he, a delirious person, got such strength.

Mu Tiantian could only help him back to his room when he regained his composure.

After the two left.

Dongxue asked, puzzled, "Why did you stop me when I was going to find Xia Yang?"

"I'm doing this for the Prince's sake," Chunyu said earnestly, blinking her round eyes. "Our Prince is getting on in years; what if he doesn't find a wife soon and his line ends?"

"Why do you need to worry about this?" Dongxue really couldn't understand her thought process. "Aren't you afraid that woman has ulterior motives?"

“Didn’t you hear Ulana’s testimony? She was the one who saved the prince ten years ago, and she was also the one who saved the prince at the hunting grounds last time. Do you still remember the Goddess painting in the Imperial Preceptor’s mansion?” Chunyu asked.

Dongxue said calmly, "I don't remember."

Every time she went to the Imperial Preceptor's residence with the Prince, she only had the Prince's safety in mind and was always ready to serve. Unlike Chunyu, who was curious about everything and wanted to explore every corner of the Imperial Preceptor's residence.

"You're so boring." Chunyu was getting tired of gossiping and not getting the response she wanted, so she patiently said, "Let me tell you, the goddess painting in the Imperial Preceptor's mansion looks exactly like Mu Tiantian... Lin Miao. And didn't Ulana say that the Imperial Preceptor was also present ten years ago? Maybe this Lin Miao really is a goddess who came here specifically to save our prince."

"So, I'm creating an opportunity for our prince. It would be so prestigious to marry a goddess in the future." The prince's poison would flare up from time to time, but it wasn't dangerous. Plus, Mu Tiantian's medical skills were excellent, so Chunyu wasn't too worried.

Dongxue didn't say anything, and looked at her as if she were an idiot.

The goddess didn't even have the strength to help the prince back to his room; who would believe that?

She used to think Chunyu was a bit silly, but now she's sure of it—Chunyu really is silly.

Just then, Qiufeng brought over the medicinal herbs, and Dongxue followed him without saying a word.

The two of them had cold faces that looked like they were made from the same mold.

Chunyu pouted and muttered under her breath, "Two expressionless faces, wait for me!"

...

Mu Tiantian untied Long Fantian's belt and tore open his shirt...
