Chapter 20
On the basement level, the studio door was wide open.
Su Yue rushed in and scanned the area—no one was there. He ran inside and found Noah lying on the ground next to the control panel.
His lips were pale, and his eyes were tightly closed. Thick black mist of supernatural power was rising from his body, enveloping him completely like a smoldering black fire.
Su Yue gasped.
The black mist surrounding Noah was much more intense than when they first met!
What happened? He was perfectly fine this morning. For the past two weeks, he's been diligently purifying the body daily, and while it hasn't completely eradicated the problem, it has reduced it by nearly half. How come after only half a day, the reduced portion has returned with interest?
What did Noah do today? Was he courting death?!
He glared at the wolf king reproachfully: "Wasn't he overusing his powers? Why didn't you stop him?"
The wolf king drooped its ears, looking aggrieved: "Woof woof..." How dare it, a mere servant, order its master around? Besides, it hadn't expected the consequences to be so severe.
"Forget it." Su Yue turned his head; now was not the time to pursue the matter.
"Noah! Noah!" He gently patted the other's cheek, but there was no reaction, not even a twitch of his eyelashes. If it weren't for the warmth of his breath, he would almost have thought this person was already...
The moment their bodies touched, the heaviness of the black mist intensified, making it hard for him to breathe.
Damn it. Just touching the skin was enough to cause a feeling of blockage and numbness. So much inside Noah… His intuition told him: it had to be purified immediately, or Noah's life would be in danger.
Half an hour, like before, is far from enough. This time it might take all night…
Even if it kills me, I'll clean him thoroughly!
Su Yue made up his mind, put his hands under Noah's back and knees, and tried to carry him up to the second-floor bedroom—it would be better if he was comfortable so he could get to work, since it might take all night.
He was filled with pride and silently counted "one, two, three" as he tried to stand up—but Noah seemed glued to the ground, incredibly heavy.
With his face flushed red, he strained with all his might to barely lift himself off the ground... His back was bent, his legs were bent, and he took a shaky step, feeling as if his hands and waist were about to break.
Damn it! Noah used to be able to carry him up and down the stairs with ease, so why can't he do it with him?
Taking another shaky step, Su Yue realized with despair that "carrying him up to the second floor" was simply an impossible task!
The wolf king looked at the trembling duo and howled worriedly.
"Alright, I understand." Su Yue carefully put Noah down, looking distressed.
Are you suggesting that seriously ill patients should lie on a cold floor all night? That would be too tragic.
There's always a way out. He looked around and was pleasantly surprised to find a sofa against the wall, so he immediately decided to move it there.
Having learned his lesson, this time he first helped Noah up, carefully carried him on his back, and moved forward step by step.
Although still heavy, it was much less strenuous than carrying him in a princess carry. The wolf king also helped by arching and pushing, and with the combined efforts of the man and the wolf, they finally managed to place the person on the sofa ten steps away after fifteen minutes.
Before they could even clap their hands in celebration, or even catch their breath, Su Yue grasped Noah's hands, and the purification began.
Purifying power surged from Su Yue's body. The dense black mist surrounding Noah, like a swarm of bees attracted by the fragrance of flowers, rushed into Su Yue's body.
Su Yue frowned.
The influx was too fast and too intense, causing excruciating pain all over my body—just like during the first purification.
At that time, Noah was not in control, and the enormous negative energy almost made him faint. Afterwards, Noah deliberately slowed down his output, and the black mist gradually entered, causing no pain except for discomfort.
At this moment, Noah fell into a coma, and the black mist poured out uncontrollably, like thousands of poisonous needles piercing through.
Su Yue took a deep breath, enduring the excruciating pain, and channeled more purifying power, guiding it with his consciousness to actively neutralize the surging negative energy. Like a knight wielding his sword, he pierced the surrounding demons.
He was no longer a novice. He had spent the past month purifying Noah more than twenty times, accumulating experience in both pain tolerance and purification techniques.
Inside the guide's body, a silent yet fierce battle is unfolding.
Su Yue avoided the dense and troublesome large clumps of black mist, focusing his purification power on the scattered small clumps at the edges—breaking the whole into parts and defeating them one by one.
The nibbling strategy greatly improves efficiency.
He was like a knight forging ahead through the darkness, persevering relentlessly.
The wolf king sat crouching beside the sofa, its tail swaying gently, a glimmer of hope burning in its eyes.
Two hours later, Su Yue began to feel physically exhausted.
He has never purified for so long before.
In the past, an hour would have been the limit. But the black mist around Noah was too heavy, and he was unconscious. He dared not give up halfway, forcing himself to continuously generate purification power and continue the "battle"...
Two more hours passed.
Su Yue was covered in sweat, his internal purification power nearly exhausted, and he could only squeeze out a tiny drop of water each time.
My body trembled slightly; I had reached my limit.
But he held Noah's hand tightly, unwilling to let go or abandon him.
My eyelids drooped, I was so tired and drowsy... I was only able to stay awake by sheer willpower.
“Yue…” someone called to him.
Su Yue opened her eyes with a start—Noah was awake!
"Great!" he smiled, instinctively pressing his face against his clenched hands and gently rubbing them—a gesture he'd subconsciously picked up from the wolf king. The wolf king often rubbed against him, and he'd been influenced by its presence.
However, he only did this to Noah.
Noah's lips had regained their rosy color, and he propped himself up, seemingly much better: "Yue, are you purifying me?"
"Hmm." Su Yue looked up, suddenly realizing something was amiss...
Noah gazed at the beads of sweat on his forehead, sensing the purifying power still being exerted... Su Yue's expression was so much like Claire's, yet bright and clear, different. He stared, somewhat lost in thought, his gaze complex, and whispered again, "Yue..."
Su Yue's face flushed.
He realized something was wrong—Noah called him "Yue," not "Su Yue." It was as intimate as calling someone…a lover.
His heart pounded slightly, and he pursed his lips as if to say something, but his mind went completely blank.
Noah kept watching him.
Su Yue made conversation: "You fainted just now, so I... tried to purify it. I'm still not very good at it, and I haven't been able to clean it completely after all this time... I was planning to stay up all night to get it completely clean..."
Noah listened quietly, then suddenly interrupted him softly: "How about... I teach you a couple of techniques for guiding sentinels and improving purification efficiency?"
Su Yue's eyes lit up: "Great!"
Noah's gaze darkened: "Generally speaking, one of the commonly used techniques is... kissing."
Su Yue was taken aback: "What?"
"Kissing can significantly improve purification efficiency."
Su Yue opened her mouth and said "ah" for a long time, but couldn't get a reply.
Those half-open lips seemed like an invitation. Noah reached out and pulled him closer, kissing him naturally.
Su Yue: "!!!"
He was shocked to discover that his body, which was originally exhausted, could only squeeze out a tiny amount of purifying power. But the moment their lips touched, it was as if a switch had been turned on—a white mist-like energy surged out from his body, like a catalyst that generated a stream of purifying power!
The remaining black mist could not withstand the erosion and quickly faded away.
At the same time, the abundant purifying power drew more black mist from Noah's body, continuously neutralizing and dissolving it.
Holy crap, that's awesome!
Before the shock subsided, waves of sensation washed over us as our lips and tongues intertwined, a tingling feeling spreading from my mouth, leaving my brain almost oxygen-deprived.
What an amazing kiss!
It's not that he's never kissed anyone. In junior high, he and Daisy had a premarital encounter; he was excited before the kiss, but the kiss itself was uneventful, and he was even criticized for his poor technique. In high school, a boy forcibly kissed him, and he only felt disgusted.
But at this moment, Noah kissed him without feeling the slightest discomfort.
Is this a kiss from Nuo Yatai? Gentle, familiar, sweet breath, soft lips and tongue... Ah, I'm hooked... My heart is pounding, I feel so good I feel like I'm floating.
