Chapter 28
While other artists' drawings depict graceful female curves, Su Yue's works portray a lean and muscular male body with clearly defined pectoral muscles. The face is also completely different from the model's.
The student stared at the drawing for a few seconds, then winked and said, "But seriously, that face is really handsome! Who is it?"
“A… insignificant person.” Su Yue’s voice was flat as he tore the drawing paper off, shredded it into pieces in a few quick movements, and crumpled it into a ball.
The student exclaimed again, "Why did you tear it? This assignment will get you zero points!"
Su Yue said calmly, "Even if you don't tear it up, it's still a zero."
The classmate was taken aback, then realized: "That's right, they even changed the gender and the model, no wonder they got zero points."
Then, amidst everyone's astonished gazes, Su Yue packed up her things and left the studio ahead of time.
The teacher was stunned: "This student..." Before he could finish speaking, the person had already disappeared through the door.
The teacher looked at the remaining students with a puzzled expression: "There are only ten minutes left before get out of class ends, and you can't even sit still?"
The remaining students shook their heads in unison, indicating their incomprehension. The beautiful models on stage weren't even dressed yet; they were hoping the teacher would extend the class time—who would leave early?
Su Yue ran all the way to a deserted corner behind the teaching building, leaned against the cold wall, and slowly closed her eyes.
He sternly warned himself: I can't think about it anymore. I must forget it. I absolutely must forget it.
When he got home, he locked the door and dragged a storage box out from under the bed.
Inside was a thick stack of sketches drawn this semester. One after another, they were all the same person's outline, the same face.
He flipped through them expressionlessly, then found a lighter and a metal bowl, and lit them one by one.
Flames leaped, and black ash fell in rustling sounds, starkly bright against the gleaming bottom of the basin.
Beside the bed stood a framed artwork, which he had brought back from the stone house. He picked it up but hesitated for a long time, feeling that the frame was made of a special material, unlike ordinary wood, and that it might not burn clean... In the end, he put it back deep inside the bedside table.
Then he rinsed the metal basin clean, as if it had never been touched by the ashes.
One day, Martin and John excitedly came to invite him to a party.
Before Su Yue could finish listening, she immediately refused: "I'm not going."
"Hey? We haven't even said what kind of party it is!" the two said hastily.
Su Yue glanced at them coldly: "Is this a rugby team party?"
Martin and John's eyes began to dart around: "Well, not entirely... lots of cheerleaders went too..."
Su Yue frowned: "I'm not going."
He's already been tricked twice by these two "useless teammates." Each time they lied and said it was a fun party, but when he arrived, all he saw were rugby players and cheerleaders.
Of course, Mike was also involved. He strongly suspected that Mike had bribed the two men.
Martin and John swore that they and Mike were just "ordinary friends" and that they went to the party purely to meet the pretty cheerleaders and find their other half as soon as possible!
However, the young and beautiful cheerleaders had already become too discerning with the muscular and low-fat school team members around them. How could they possibly notice Martin (too round) and John (too skinny) with their slightly "unusual" appearances? The two of them blended in perfectly, playing the supporting role, but they were completely unaware of it and still stared at the girls with hearts in their eyes.
Su Yue said irritably, "It's you guys who want to have girlfriends, what does it have to do with me? Go if you want."
Martin and John exchanged an awkward glance, inwardly lamenting: "Damn it, if you don't go, Boss Mike won't even let us into the party!" But this "selling out friends for tickets" deal absolutely couldn't be known by Su Yue.
“We need your help. Su Yue, you’re good-looking and have always been popular with girls. If you come with us, those beauties will be willing to talk to us! Otherwise, they won’t even glance at us, and we’ll have no chance to show off our talents…” John pleaded.
Martin nodded in agreement, forcing out two non-existent tears: "Exactly! Su Yue, you dated Daisy back in middle school, you're experienced! John and I are still pitiful old virgins, can you bear to watch your brothers grow old alone? Help us out, just this once! If you go, you'll have a chance!"
Su Yue gritted his teeth: "I..." (I'm still a virgin!) It was too embarrassing to say that, so he could only change his words to: "...You know I don't like Mike."
"Oh, there are so many people at the party, what can he do to you?"
"Exactly! He's surrounded by Captains Mira and Isabel at the party, he's so busy he can't keep up, what are you worried about?"
Su Yue: "..."
Seeing these two "brothers" practically begging for mercy in their quest to find a partner, Su Yue finally softened and sighed, "This is the last time. Remember that."
The two were instantly overjoyed, nodding their heads like chickens pecking at rice: "Definitely! Definitely!"
The subwoofer in the room vibrated so loudly that the floorboards tingled. By the pool in the backyard, the cheerleaders, dressed in revealing clothes, were intentionally or unintentionally showing off their youthful figures, attracting most of the boys in the room to come over with juice mixed with alcohol, awkwardly trying to strike up a conversation.
Martin and John, these two "warriors," also mustered their courage, grabbed cocktails, and plunged into the crowd.
Su Yue leaned against the living room window, watching his two best friends repeatedly run into obstacles but still grinning and refusing to back down, and couldn't help but facepalm.
With this level of skill, you still dream of finding a partner? You might as well just play a game dungeon with him; that would be more practical.
Considering all the years he's played video games with them, he accompanied them for the third time; he truly did his utmost.
The deafening music made his temples throb, and he was about to slip away when someone appeared beside him—Thomas, a substitute for the football team.
I heard this guy's soccer skills are mediocre, but his family is incredibly wealthy; he's the team's "big spender" and frequently sponsors parties. This mansion in front of us is one of his family's properties.
"What are you looking at?" Thomas asked casually, as if the two were old friends.
Su Yue disliked this person; his gaze was always lingering. But glancing around, she saw that the space between the sofa and the bar was cramped, and Thomas's imposing figure blocked her only escape route, leaving only a narrow gap. Squeezing through would inevitably involve physical contact.
He decided to wait one more minute and let the person leave on their own.
"Look outside, the pool looks nice," he said casually, turning to look out the window.
“Yes, the view is beautiful.” Thomas agreed, chuckling, then suddenly leaned close to the window, placing one arm on Su Yue’s side. His 189-centimeter frame loomed over her like a wall, so close she could almost feel his body heat.
Su Yue felt unwell all over, his lips were tightly pressed together, and he cursed inwardly.
"Which one have you taken a fancy to?" Thomas lowered his voice, his breath hot against his ear. "Is it...?"
The music was too loud, and Su Yue didn't hear clearly: "What?"
However, before he could finish speaking, a wet, hot tongue suddenly licked his earlobe!
Su Yue immediately got goosebumps. He wanted to turn around and throw a punch, but he was blocked by the other person's body and could not move.
"You son of a bitch—!" Su Yue was both anxious and angry, his face turning bright red.
Just then, Thomas was suddenly pulled from behind, staggered back a few steps, and fell onto the sofa with a thud.
"Fuck..." Thomas cursed, but when he saw that the person who pulled him was Mike, he swallowed the rest of the curse and only managed an awkward cough.
Mike's face turned ashen as he glared at Thomas: "Who told you to run wild here?"
Thomas felt wronged: This is my house! But he was in the wrong first, so he didn't dare to talk back. He could only awkwardly touch his nose, grab a wine glass that someone had drunk from on the table, take a big gulp, and say, "Thirsty, thirsty," before slinking off to the backyard.
