Chapter 186 Bankruptcy

Once the house transfer was complete, Nanqu began urging Charles to proceed with his plans smoothly.

To be honest, Charles is really much worse than Mishu, and Nanqu really can't stand him.

Everything was going smoothly. The movie Henry was filming had already started airing, and Henry had become a somewhat popular actor. While he was busy going to school and filming, he received a phone call from his father.

"What? Our family went bankrupt? Father, where are you now?"

Romanov looked around and said uncertainly, "At your brother-in-law's house."

Henry was dumbfounded: "Brother-in-law?"

Romanov said, "Yes, his name is Esther. To be honest, I'm still a little confused, but he came to my house with his marriage certificate with your sister and brought me here."

"Marriage certificate? How is that possible? By the way, where is Emilia? Our family went bankrupt, what will she do? Good heavens! Father, you're so useless, how could you go bankrupt? Does that mean I'm penniless now?"

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a long time before someone finally said, "Amy won't let me contact her, and Esther said he can't contact his sister for the time being either. If you have time, go see her; she's probably having a hard time at school."

Henry: "Why are you only telling me this now?"

Romanov was speechless: "Only if you can get through on the phone. Henry, I've seen your acting. All I can say is that you're just like your mother. Now that the family is bankrupt, you can do whatever you want. You should be happy, shouldn't you?"

Henry was speechless.

This was the first time he had heard his mother mentioned by his father. Henry wasn't Emilia; he had met his mother and had memories of her. He also knew that his mother had divorced his father and left the family for her career. Henry knew his father was very sad, so he had never mentioned his mother again from childhood to adulthood.

Therefore, he never dared to tell his father about his desire to act, because he knew his father would not agree.

Unexpectedly, the family's bankruptcy caused his once proud father to put down his pride and become an ordinary father, which made him feel the care from his father's love.

After hanging up the phone, Henry strode towards the prestigious school where Emilia was.

As soon as he entered the school, he saw many signs telling Emilia, this poor wretch, to get out of the school. Henry's eyes narrowed; he could almost imagine what kind of scene awaited Emilia.

Just as Henry was about to go and ask someone where Emilia was, he saw a group of people carrying what looked like a banner walking toward a certain place.

Henry instinctively followed.

Henry also graduated from this school, so he knew that this direction led to the gymnasium, and that some of the school's large conferences were held here.

Henry understood what was happening and quickly ran towards the stadium.

Sure enough, when he arrived at the gymnasium, he saw that almost all the teachers and students of the school were there. Even with the teachers present, the students' agitated state could not be suppressed.

"Get Emilia, that rotten apple, out of Sackleham!"

"Our school does not welcome students like this!"

"We want to drop out! We absolutely don't want to be in the same school as students like this."

The clamor of criticism was deafening, making Henry anxious to find Emilia. Finally, Henry found Emilia huddled in a corner next to the podium in the stadium.

Henry was heartbroken. He wanted to argue with the students and also wanted to go and take Emilia away.

However, there were too many people around, making it impossible for him to get through in a short time.

Just then, the doors in front of the gymnasium opened, and Henry saw the familiar dean of students, the principal, and members of the board of directors appear.

Henry's eyes narrowed as he walked at the front. He recognized Princess Katrina, the head of the school, whom he had only ever seen on the school's bulletin board before!

Henry could see the shock in everyone's eyes; they seemed to have never expected that this farce would attract this person's attention.

As expected of a princess, she intimidated everyone with just one look.

She stood there, looking down at everyone below the stage. With just one glance, she made those who had just held up their signs lower them and stand there obediently, like soldiers waiting for the parade.

"I heard you're dissatisfied with the school?"

Just then, Hannah stepped forward: "Your Highness, we are not dissatisfied with the school itself, we are just dissatisfied with why the school doesn't expel Emilia, whose family has already gone bankrupt, hasn't it?"

Katarina frowned, and the next second, her assistant appeared in front of her with a tablet: "Hannah Trull? You're a commoner, yet your manners are lacking?"

Hannah's face darkened, but she forced a smile and said, "I entered this school with the highest score in the country. I fully met the admission requirements. However, the Emilia family went bankrupt, and she is no longer eligible to be a member of Sackleham."

Katarina's face turned grim: "Really? How come I didn't know that was the admission standard for Sackleham?"

The headmaster immediately replied, "Sackram's admission standards have always been for children of noble families. It's not that children from impoverished noble families are not allowed; it's just that when a family falls on hard times, they no longer have the money to support their children's education, which forces them to leave the school."

Emilia has already paid all her fees for this year, so she naturally has the right to remain at school.

After listening to the principal's words, Katarina asked everyone again, "Did you all understand? Do you have any further questions?"

No one spoke again.

Katarina, however, waved her hand, and two bodyguards carrying a sack of money came to the front of the stage: "Amelia did not violate any school rules, so the school will naturally not expel her. If any of you are dissatisfied, come to the front of the stage, and I will arrange for you to withdraw from school on the spot. In addition, for specially admitted students, if you want to leave, the school will not take back any of the benefits previously provided to you!"

After Katarina finished speaking, the auditorium fell silent once again.

Katarina added, "I'll give you one more chance. If no one steps forward now, I won't be lenient with any of you if this happens again!"

No one stepped forward. Katarina turned to leave, but before she did, she glanced at Hannah and said, "You said you stayed because you were first in the whole school? With grades like that, I'm afraid you won't be able to stay in Sacramento any longer."

After saying that, Katarina left the gymnasium. The school's board of directors had only come with Katarina, and since she left, they naturally left with her.
