Just as Shang Qu was still trying to figure out the plot, a small figure walked in from outside.
Shang Qu knew from her memory that this was the son who was not related to her by blood.
The boy's original name was Gu Nanxing, but after being kicked out, he took the surname Nan from the original owner and is now simply called Nanxing.
The original owner's name was the same as Shang Qu's, but his surname was Nan, and his real name was Nan Qu.
Shangqu didn't find it hard to accept that it had become Nanqu. In her past life, and the life before that, she had no regrets.
She had thought she was going to die, and now that she was alive, she was lucky enough, so what was there to be upset about? Therefore, she stated frankly that from now on, she was Nan Qu!
Looking at Nanxing's stubborn eyes, she tried not to let her tears fall, but when she saw herself sitting there perfectly fine, her eyes were filled with disbelief.
Nan Qu then realized that this child probably knew that the original owner was contemplating suicide.
His eyes revealed the original owner's reluctance to part with her, yet when he saw her in such pain choosing to end her life, he chose to respect her decision.
This child is five years old (by Chinese reckoning), but hasn't even turned four yet, and is already so intelligent that it breaks your heart.
He is even more pitiful than the child Nanqu once took in.
Nan Qu looked at him as if nothing had happened: "It's not time for school to end yet, is it? Why did you come back by yourself?"
Nanxing finally couldn't hold back her tears and burst into sobs, then threw herself into Shangqu's arms: "I don't want you to die, Mom. You're my only family now, please don't leave me."
Nan Qu's hand tightened for a moment, then loosened: "Silly girl, how could I die? What are you thinking about all day? I'm going to raise you properly. I'll let you skip class today, but not tomorrow."
Nanxing cried uncontrollably in Nanqu's arms, completely ignoring Nanqu's words.
He believed that as soon as he left, Nanqu would leave him.
Nan Qu sighed. Such a young child, yet so insecure.
"Don't worry, Mom promises you, from today onwards, I will work hard to earn money and raise you to adulthood. I will never have any more wild thoughts, and I will never think of going to see your grandparents again!"
The laughable promise did not earn Nanxing a shred of trust.
Nan Qu pondered, realizing she had to do something to make him believe her.
"Now that you're back, that's perfect. Help Mom clean up here today. We've been back for so long, and it's still such a mess."
Nanxing was taken aback for a moment, then nodded: "Okay."
When Nanqu woke up, her first thought was that she was in the 1990s because the house she lived in was a single-story house made of blue bricks, with white plaster on the walls, stone slabs hanging from the ceiling, and plaster on the ceiling, which had now been visited by rats and was lying on the floor.
However, after her parents passed away and she married into a wealthy family, the house remained uninhabited.
Because the house had been uninhabited for a long time and had fallen into disrepair, it was not only infested with rats but also soaked by rainwater. It had long since become a dilapidated place.
Looking at all this, Nan Qu suddenly felt that there was no need to repair the house, and it would be better to demolish it and rebuild it.
Anyway, her space is full of gold and silver jewelry.
Thinking this, Nanqu subconsciously looked at her own space.
That's right, Nan Qu does possess a spatial dimension, and that dimension is none other than the medical clinic given to her by her parents who traveled with her during her first life. In her previous life, when she served as a member of the Imperial Guard, Nan Qu amassed a fortune equal to that of a nation, including gold and silver treasures. This was the main source of her leisurely lifestyle at the time.
Anyway, when she died, only a small fraction of the treasures in the space had been used.
So, she doesn't need to live in such a dilapidated house... wait, what about her gold and jewelry?
Nan Qu thought she was seeing things, so she checked her space again and confirmed that all her treasures had disappeared!
Nan Qu instinctively reached for the space to check, but when she saw those innocent eyes, she finally choked: "Hehe, come on, let's clean the room."
Heaven knows that Nan Qu's smile was uglier than her crying.
With the money gone, all that remained in her space were medicines and some medical equipment.
This isn't ancient times; selling medicine without a license is illegal. The original owner of this body didn't have a medical license or a permit to buy and sell medicinal herbs. She could use these things herself, but she couldn't sell them.
In short, she is still penniless!
So, this dilapidated house is truly her only safe haven now.
Moreover, even more tragic than the news about the house was that Nan Qu was kicked out of the house with nothing. Therefore, Nan Xing's schooling was merely a trial period, and simply an excuse used by the original owner to make Nan Xing leave. No wonder Nan Xing didn't speak earlier; he knew Nan Qu had no money to send him to school.
Forget about going to school, they are struggling to even afford their living expenses.
Thinking about this, Nan Qu felt terrible.
Just as Nan Qu was about to put on a sad face, she saw Nan Xing looking at her again, so she could only force herself to smile with a sad face.
"It's alright, as long as people are alive, everything is fine, right! Come on, our task today is to clean this place up!"
It's just packing things up! What's the big deal? This is a new era, there are jobs everywhere. As long as she's willing to work hard, there's nothing she can't do!
Although Nanxing didn't understand why her mother was suddenly so energetic again, she was still very happy about it and was willing to cooperate with her.
