The scene was deathly silent; no one had expected Su Xingran to directly file a report. The Su family felt guilty, so they dared not show their faces when they learned Wang Haibo was coming to pick them up. Hiding at home, the Su family members had no idea that Su Xingran had filed a formal complaint against them.
Wang Laifu's eyes widened; this was going to be terrible. This woman was incredibly defiant, reporting him directly. Buying and selling underage girls—that alone was enough to send the Wang family into serious trouble. What was the difference between this and human trafficking?

"Director Huang, I'll go back and ask my son Haibo about this matter. He's always been a law-abiding and good kid. I won't disturb your family reunion any longer. I have official business to attend to, so I'll take my leave now."
Wang Laifu left unwillingly, glancing back at Sujia Village. He remembered the humiliation he suffered today, and he remembered Su Xingran too.
The people outside the Su family's house dispersed, leaving only Su Xingran and her family of three to return home. The incident had left Su's parents feeling uneasy.
