Chapter 132 Gu Moli arrives, the two meet for the first time (2/2)

“I told you, Mother once mentioned that Uncle took on a female apprentice. Uncle, I brought a gift for your apprentice. I heard she's still in school, so I brought her a fountain pen.”

“That’s thoughtful of you. Xingran is still in school, she’s a senior in high school this year, and she attends a middle school in town. She’s probably just getting out of school and going home by now.”

"Mo Li, do you have enough time? Why don't you have a meal before you leave?" Doctor Huang wanted to have a meal with Gu Mo Li.

"Uncle, there's no time left. It took me some time to get to town, and it took me some time to get to the village. I have to leave soon; my comrade is waiting at the door."

"You still have a comrade-in-arms waiting at the door? Why don't you call him in for a cup of tea?" Dr. Huang heard someone waiting at the door, so he stood up to go out and call him in.

“Uncle, no need. It’s my comrade-in-arms who didn’t want to come in. He said we should get together when we have time, and he won’t disturb our conversation. Besides, I’m leaving soon, so I don’t have time.”

Upon hearing Gu Moli's words, Doctor Huang stopped in his tracks. He knew, of course, that soldiers were pressed for time, and he didn't press the matter further.

Su Xingran had already returned home from school, and as soon as she entered the house, she heard her mother calling her.

"Xingran's family has prepared chicken soup, dumplings, braised fish, and braised pork. Go to your master's house and invite him and your Uncle Duan to come over for dinner."

"It's Dad's birthday today, Mom, please add some dishes! I'll go call Master and Uncle Duan right now." Su Xingran knew it was her father's birthday and had wished him a happy birthday on her way to school this morning.

Su Xingran left her house and walked towards her master's house. As she approached, she saw a military green car parked in front of her master's house.

A man in camouflage walked out of his master's house. His gaze met Su Xingran's.

Su Xingran saw the man's face clearly; he looked more like a boy than a man. The boy was tall and straight, with a standard military buzz cut, thick eyebrows, big, bright eyes, a high nose, and was probably over 1.85 meters tall.

He looked quite young, perhaps because of his military service, but he also gave off a mature vibe. However, Su Xingran saw a youthful spirit hidden within that maturity in him.

Su Xingran nodded to the boy, then quickly looked away and continued walking towards her master's house.

"Mo Li, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and get in the car, we're going to be late, we have to leave right away," his comrade in the driver's seat reminded Gu Mo Li.

Su Xingran had already entered her master's house when she heard the name "Mo Li". Without turning around, she walked straight through the courtyard into the house.

Dr. Huang came out of the house, intending to go to the kitchen to get something to eat. Just as he stepped out, he saw Su Xingran walking in.

"Xingran, you're out of school? What brings you here?" Doctor Huang was a little surprised. It was already dinnertime. What could Xingran want?

Sitting in the passenger seat, Gu Moli, with his sharp ears, heard his uncle say the name "Xingran." He remembered the moment he had made eye contact with the girl.

She had fair skin, bright black eyes, a pretty oval face, a small mouth, and a tall, slender figure. She wore a white shirt and black trousers. Her jet-black hair was tied high at the back of her head. She gave off a gentle, refreshing feeling. This was all Gu Moli felt when he looked at the girl.
