As students walked out of the school gate one after another, the sharp-eyed Su Xingran spotted Xiao Xue coming out. "Uncle Xiao, Aunt Xiao, Sister Xiao Xue is out."
Xiao Dingyu and Li Mei immediately turned around to look for Xiao Xue. Xiao Xue also saw her parents and their group, and quickly walked towards them.
Xiao Xue approached and greeted everyone. The three members of the Xiao family then prepared to return home. Xiao Dingyu invited Doctor Huang and the others to his home for dinner, but Doctor Huang politely declined.
Su Xingran's parents and Dr. Huang gave her some instructions: take good care of yourself for the next three days, eat well, and sleep well. Dr. Huang and the others chatted with Guan Xiaoyan for a few minutes after she arrived to pick up Su Xingran.
Su Xingran sat on the back of Guan Xiaoyan's bicycle and rode towards home. Dr. Huang and the others watched them go and then prepared to head home as well.
The three-day college entrance examination quickly came to an end. After the last subject was finished, the examination hall erupted in excitement. Some people were happy with smiles on their faces, while others looked worried and sighed. In the end, they could only wait for the exam results to be released to find out the outcome.
Mr. and Mrs. Su, carrying several bags, stood at the school gate with Dr. Huang and his family. They were waiting for Su Xingran to finish her exams so that Mr. and Mrs. Huang could thank them for taking care of Su Xingran over the past three days and invite them to a meal at a state-run restaurant.
The cold weather couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of the test-takers, nor could it diminish the love of their families. The school gate was packed with family members waiting for their children to emerge.
Su Xingran performed consistently well and became the first examinee to leave the school. With a relaxed expression after the exam, she walked confidently towards her family.
"Dad, Mom, Master, Uncle Duan, I've finished the exam." Su Xingran greeted her family with a smile, as if she were giving a report.
"The exams are over, I can finally breathe a sigh of relief." Su's mother gently patted Su Xingran's head.
"Ranran, we're going to the state-run restaurant later to have a meal with your Uncle Tai'an and his family. We've troubled them these past three days," Su's father said, announcing the arrangements.
Su Xingran agreed with her parents' approach; she had been in trouble with Aunt Guan's care for the past three days. Aunt Guan would make her breakfast in the morning and take her to school, pick her up for lunch, then take her back to school for her exams, and pick her up again after the exams in the afternoon.
In the evening, the group had dinner at a state-run restaurant. After dinner, Huang Tai'an drove Dr. Huang, Duan Yuming, and Su Xingran's family back to Sujia Village.
After returning home and washing up, Su Xingran went back to her room and crawled into bed to sleep. She was quite tired after these three days; the weather was so cold, and her hands were frozen stiff from taking off her gloves to take the exam.
Su Xingran woke up the next day at noon. Knowing how difficult the three days of exams had been, her parents didn't disturb her sleep. She ate whenever she woke up, which wasn't a regular occurrence.
Su Xingran ate breakfast and lunch together. It started snowing again outside. Su Xingran went out of the house and stood under the eaves watching the snowflakes falling from the sky.
The college entrance exam results were released two weeks later. Su Xingran remembered receiving her acceptance letter after the New Year. Thinking about everything that had happened ten years prior, Su Xingran felt a pang of pain in her heart.
Su Xingran had a feeling that her relationship with Su Wenli would follow the same path as in her previous life. But this time, she wouldn't repeat the same mistakes; what needed to end should end.
