Chapter 166 Du Shulan Comes to See Me (2/2)

The weekend holiday passed quickly. After having dinner at home that evening, Huang Taihe drove Su Xingran back to school and also picked up Xiao Xue from the Gu family's house.

Su Xingran already knew the reason why Zhou Siyun, a girl, had done something so crazy. She felt that she and Xiao Xue were completely innocent victims. Xiao Xue and Gu Moting were in love with each other; there was no question of one stealing the other's man. She and Gu Moli had only met a few times; they weren't exactly familiar, but they weren't strangers either.

To go mad for something that isn't love—that's a personality problem, Su Xingran thought. Although she didn't understand what love was, she believed it should involve mutual attraction and affection. Su Xingran felt no sympathy for Zhou Siyun, even though she was also a girl.

After finishing class on Monday morning, Su Xingran left the classroom to go get lunch. Suddenly, she heard someone mention her name, "That's Su Xingran."

Upon hearing this, Su Xingran looked towards the source of the voice. A woman wearing a cheongsam but with long trousers underneath walked towards Su Xingran. Su Xingran couldn't help but glance at the combination.

"So you're Su Xingran! Can you please leave my daughter alone? If you hadn't gotten so close to Mo Li and tried to take him away, she wouldn't have done those things."

The woman speaking was Du Shulan. She had found out that Su Xingran was in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Peking University. She had someone help her get into Peking University and came to find Su Xingran to ask her to let Zhou Siyun go.

Upon hearing this, Su Xingran knew that the woman in front of her was Zhou Siyun's family member. Judging from her age, she should be Zhou Siyun's biological mother.

The noise was so loud that students who had just finished class gathered around. Su Xingran looked at the woman in front of her and finally understood what she was up to: moral blackmail while simultaneously making the woman feel like she was in the wrong first.

Su Xingran saw her roommate Guan Xiao and said, "Guan Xiao, could you go and call the school security guards? I'll tell them someone is harassing students on campus."

Guan Xiao nodded. She had come over because she was worried about Su Xingran. Guan Xiao then ran to find the school security guard.

Du Shulan's face darkened with anger as she watched Su Xingran's actions. This country bumpkin was really difficult to deal with; if it weren't for the Huang family's backing, she could have crushed him with one hand.

"What's wrong with you? I already told you that my Siyun didn't do it on purpose. She just wanted to teach you a lesson. You're perfectly fine now, aren't you?"

Su Xingran was so angry she almost laughed. Loving her daughter was fine, but did she have to be so lacking in basic values? Just because she was alright, she could pretend this never happened.

"What your daughter does is your business. If she breaks the law, the law will punish her. I am the victim, she is the perpetrator, and you are the perpetrator's family member. How dare you come to me and say such immoral things?"

"Who your daughter likes is her business. I've only met Gu Moli a few times. My master is his uncle, so at most I'm his sister. How did that make me someone who wants to steal him from you people?"

“I’m telling you, I won’t settle. Your daughter doesn’t deserve it. You think I’m an easy student to bully, right? That’s why you came to me. Don’t worry, I’ll tell my mentor. There’s no other way. The perpetrator’s family came knocking, and I, the victim, also need my family’s help to stand up for me.”
