"While your youngest son, Wei Xiongwei, is partly to blame, everyone acknowledges his abilities. He rose to his position step by step through sheer hard work and dedication. But everything has been ruined because of your eldest son's youngest son, Wei Xiongwei."
"As the saying goes, one cannot ignore a person's character and ideology just because of their merits. You were a good soldier on the battlefield, but your character and ideology are problematic. In that tragedy twenty years ago, you were not the mastermind, but you were an accomplice."
"I have no relation to your Wei family for twenty years. You don't lack grandsons; if you lose a younger one, you still have an older one. These grandsons are the children of your most beloved eldest son and the woman he loves most. This is the last time I will step into your Wei family's door. I hope you will not have to think about people who are no longer your grandsons."
Xiao Dingyu straightened his back and walked out of the Wei family home step by step, just like Wei Ziming, who severed ties with the Wei family at the age of fifteen, carrying Xiao Baiyu's belongings and his own luggage.
Despair was etched on the faces of all three members of the Wei family. Old Master Wei was filled with regret; the Wei family had lost all hope. Wei Xiongjie was filled with anger and pain; his grown-up child was like a stranger to his own father. Zhao Lihua had extinguished Wei Zilin's last glimmer of hope.
The next day, Wei Zilin was bound hand and foot and taken to the execution site. A crowd of onlookers gathered, and police announced Wei Zilin's crimes from above.
Kneeling on the ground, Wei Zilin stared blankly at the crowd below. His gaze met that of Xiao Dingyu, who stood prominently in the first row. Xiao Dingyu looked at Wei Zilin coldly, feeling no pity for this man who shared the same blood as him; he only felt that Wei Zilin deserved this fate.
Relying on his family's power, he disregarded human life and repeatedly broke the law to evade responsibility. Even if it weren't for Wei Zilin harming his daughter, but for the injured and the orphan who lost his life, Xiao Dingyu felt that Wei Zilin deserved to die.
A gunshot rang out, the bullet piercing Wei Zilin's temple. He fell to the ground, twitched a few times, and then remained motionless. Wei Zilin's eyes were wide open, his death unresolved. Thus ended Wei Zilin's absurd and wicked life.
Zhao Lihua, standing in the crowd, collapsed to the ground as the bullet pierced Wei Zilin's temple. Wei Xiongjie tried to pull her up, but his old age prevented him from doing so. Bystanders, seeing this, assumed Zhao Lihua had fainted from the gruesome scene and helped Wei Xiongjie carry her away from the area.
Xiao Dingyu stared at the lifeless corpse, his stomach churning. He thought back to when he returned home and saw Xiao Baiyu lying lifeless in a pool of blood. Suppressing his nausea, Xiao Dingyu turned and left; he needed to go back and tidy himself up for his visit to his in-laws.
Gu Junru and Liang Yun both knew that today was the day Wei Zilin would be executed. They didn't go to watch the execution; they just knew that those who committed crimes deserved their punishment.
There was a knock on the front door, and Aunt Hu went out to open it. She was quite surprised to see Xiao Dingyu carrying gifts. "Xiaoxue's father, you're here! Come in quickly! Xiaoyun and the others are all home."
Xiao Dingyu greeted Aunt Hu with a smile, "Hello, Aunt Hu." After greeting her, Xiao Dingyu went inside, and Aunt Hu closed the door behind him.
Hearing the noise, Gu Junru and Liang Yun, who were sitting in the living room, looked up at the doorway. They stood up in surprise when they saw who had entered.
