Chapter 228 Deng Chenhui's First Meeting with Su Xingran (1/2)

"Sister Xingran, it really is you! You really came to find me. Sister Xingran, come in quickly, I've missed you so much." Deng Wenwen excitedly hugged Su Xingran's waist, chattering on and on.

Su Xingran gently touched Deng Wenwen's head, who was wrapped around her. Deng Jianjun and his wife, who were inside the house, also came over when they saw Su Xingran.

Deng Jianjun said with a smile, "Xingran, Happy New Year! You're back for the New Year. Come inside and sit down. Wenwen, let go of Xingran and let her come inside."

Su Xingran looked at Deng Jianjun and his wife, "Uncle Deng, Aunt Deng, Happy New Year! I've come to wish you a Happy New Year."

Deng Jianjun's wife took the gift from Su Xingran's hand. "Xingran, Happy New Year! It's been a long time. You've grown a bit taller. Come inside and have a cup of warm water to warm yourself up. It's quite cold outside."

Deng Wenwen pulled Su Xingran into the house and sat her down on the sofa. Deng Jianjun's wife poured Su Xingran a glass of warm water, which Su Xingran accepted with both hands, saying, "Thank you, Auntie."

Deng Jianjun's wife asked Su Xingran, "Xingran, your aunt will heat up some food for you for lunch. We ate early today and just finished cleaning up."

Su Xingran waved her hand, "Auntie, no need, you don't need to bother, I'm not hungry. I just came from Uncle Dingyu's house."

Su Xingran declined to have lunch; she hadn't planned to eat at either the Xiao or Deng families' homes in the first place. She only had one stomach and wasn't hungry at the moment, so she couldn't just eat at one place and then another.

When Deng Jianjun's wife heard that Su Xingran had just come out of the Xiao family's house, she assumed that she had eaten lunch there, so she did not force her to eat lunch again.

"Father, Mother, have we had guests?" A male voice came from the doorway.

Hearing the sound, Su Xingran turned to look at the door. A man who looked to be between twenty and twenty-five years old, with a straight back, walked in. Su Xingran glanced at him and then looked away.

Deng Jianjun said to the man, "Chen Hui, come here and let me introduce you. This is Su Xingran, your grandfather Huang's apprentice. You can just call her Sister Xingran."

After introducing Su Xingran to Deng Chenhui, Deng Jianjun introduced Deng Chenhui to Su Xingran. "Xingran, this is Uncle Deng's son, Deng Chenhui. You can just call him Brother Chenhui."

Su Xingran stood up and said to Deng Chenhui, "Hello, Brother Chenhui, I am Su Xingran."

Deng Chenhui said to Su Xingran, "Hello, Xingran, I am Deng Chenhui. These past few days since I came back, Wenwen has been talking about her sister Xingran. She said her sister Xingran came back to visit her after the New Year, and now she's finally here."

Su Xingran listened to Deng Chenhui's words, a slight smile playing on her lips, and touched Deng Wenwen's face as she sat next to her. A child's enthusiasm doesn't fade with time; instead, it grows even stronger.

Deng Chenhui also sat down to chat. He was a little stunned and his heart was racing as he watched Su Xingran chatting with her parents. Although this was the first time he had seen Su Xingran in person, he had seen her photo in the newspaper that featured the top scorer in the college entrance examination from Stone Town.

His younger sister, Wenwen, had also written to him telling him that she had met a beautiful older sister named Xingran. Xingran was a medical student. His father had also mentioned Su Xingran in his letters, so Su Xingran was someone he had never met in person, but whose name had been in his ears for a long time.

Su Xingran didn't stay at the Deng family's house for long. Deng Jianjun was the commune secretary, and she figured someone would come to pay New Year's visits. After about an hour, Su Xingran said goodbye.

Deng Wenwen was reluctant to part with Su Xingran and held onto Su Xingran's hand tightly. "Sister Xingran, why are you going back so soon? We haven't even had a chance to talk much!"
