Chapter 266 Going to the Army as a Military Doctor (2/2)

Su Xingran chuckled and said, "Because I wanted to give Comrade Gu Moli a surprise! Didn't Comrade Gu Moli say he missed me? So I came. What? Comrade Gu Moli isn't planning to take me back?"

Gu Moli beamed, practically radiating smug satisfaction. "I'll take you now. Ranran, where's your luggage? I'll get it for you and take you back to see our house."

When Gu Moli filed his marriage application last year, he applied for housing after returning to his unit from the war. He and Su Xingran discussed it at the time, and Su Xingran would come and stay in the family compound for a while whenever she had time. The housing application was approved two months ago, and Gu Moli cleaned and tidied up the house.

Su Xingran went into the military medical room, took out her luggage, and Gu Moli took the luggage bag. He then led Su Xingran towards their assigned house. The two of them quickly attracted attention.

A curious family member asked Gu Moli, "Deputy Regiment Commander Gu, what is your relationship with this new military doctor?"

Gu Moli said generously with a smile, "Sister Liu, this new military doctor is my wife, Su Xingran."

Su Xingran greeted Gu Moli, "Hello, Sister-in-law Liu! I am Gu Moli's wife, my name is Su Xingran."

Sister Liu replied, "Hello, Dr. Su! You're so beautiful. All the women in our family compound are wondering what Deputy Regiment Commander Gu's wife looks like! You should go back now; you must be tired after such a long train ride."

Gu Moli took Su Xingran back to the assigned house. For convenience, Gu Moli had applied for a detached bungalow with a yard when he applied for the house.

Su Xingran went inside the house and looked around. The house had one living room and three bedrooms; two bedrooms were for living, the other small room served as a kitchen, and there was also a separate bathroom. Su Xingran was quite satisfied with the place; a separate house could avoid some privacy issues.

The house contained only a bed, a table, and a few stools. Gu Moli moved in, but he ate alone in the cafeteria. For him, the house was just a place to shower and rest.

After putting away Su Xingran's luggage, Gu Moli came out of the room. He wanted to hug Su Xingran, but remembering that he had just finished training on the training field and was covered in sweat, Gu Moli restrained the urge to hug Su Xingran.

Gu Moli said to Su Xingran, "Ranran, are you hungry? We haven't bought any kitchenware at home yet. I eat alone in the cafeteria. I'll go to the cafeteria and see what good food they have, and bring some back for you."

Su Xingran shook her head and said, "No need. I ate something after I got off the train before coming here. Please keep an eye on dinner tonight and bring some food back."

Gu Moli said, "Alright, you can rest at home for a while. I just heard someone mention that the female military doctor who came was transferred from Beijing. Her surname is Su. I immediately ran to the medical room to see if it was you. I'll go back to the training ground first, and I'll come back to the canteen to get you dinner tonight."

Su Xingran said, "Go ahead, you go and do your thing. I'll rest at home by myself for a while."

After Gu Moli left, Su Xingran went to the bathroom to wash her hands and face. She returned to her room, found some clothes in her bag, and changed. Looking at the neatly folded blankets on the bed, Su Xingran unfolded them, lay down, and pulled the blankets over herself to sleep.

Su Xingran was probably really tired. Even in an unfamiliar place, the familiar scent on the blanket made her feel at ease, and she quickly fell asleep.
