There was a knock on the laboratory door. Su Xingran turned around in surprise and walked to the door. She waited for the right moment to leave the laboratory and go back to find her master and the others.
A man dressed in Japanese military uniform walked to the gate and, through the peephole visible from inside, saw the person outside and asked them a question in Japanese.
Having received a response from the person outside, the man inside opened the door. As soon as the last person entered, Su Xingran immediately slipped out of the door from within the space.
After confirming several times that no one was guarding the grass gate, Su Xingran opened it and left. Afraid she would forget the way, she marked the path in her own way.
The villagers, including Su's parents, Doctor Huang, and Duan Yuming, were frantic with worry. Su's parents had gone to work in the fields that morning, so they didn't know when Su Xingran had left.

It wasn't convenient to talk on the way, so Dr. Huang accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Su back to the Su family home. Upon arriving home, Mrs. Su immediately went to check on Su Xingran's room, but no one was there.
