Chapter 189 Contract Agreement (1/2)

When Su Xingran opened the door to go for her morning run on her day off, she almost bumped into Huang Taihe, who was about to knock. Both were startled, and when they regained their footing and looked at each other, they were both a little bewildered.

Su Xingran asked in surprise, "Brother Taihe, are you back so early to see Master? He hasn't gotten up yet."

Huang Taihe hadn't expected Su Xingran to be up so early. Whenever Su Xingran had time off, Huang's mother would return from the military compound. Huang Taihe knew what time his mother got up to make breakfast, and he figured if he knocked, she would hear him and open the door for him.

But to his surprise, the door opened from the inside just as he reached out to knock, and he almost bumped into the person who came out. Huang Taihe smiled awkwardly, "Xingran, I'm here to see you. Commander Gao found me very late last night and asked me to tell you that he would be coming over today."

"I was wondering if you had any plans for today, so I came back early this morning to tell Aunt Huang that you should stay home. I didn't expect you to be up so early, Xingran. What are you going to do so early in the morning?"

Su Xingran understood Huang Taihe's meaning; it seemed there was a result from Commander Gao's side. "Brother Taihe, I was just about to go for a run. I don't have any plans for today; I usually help out at the pharmacy on my days off."

Huang Taihe was somewhat surprised. He usually lived in the military compound and rarely came back to stay, so he didn't know that Su Xingran had a habit of jogging in the morning. Huang Taihe was quite impressed with Su Xingran; it seemed that she always managed to reveal a different kind of brilliance about herself.

"Xingran, Commander Gao is here. If you have any questions or need any help, please ask your master. I need to get back in time; I have some things to take care of this morning, so I won't go in. I'll head back to the compound first."

After Huang Taihe left, Su Xingran continued her run. When she returned, she saw her master reading the newspaper in the main hall. Su Xingran went over to him. "Master, good morning! I ran into Brother Taihe when I went for my run this morning. Commander Gao asked him to tell you he's coming to our house today. Master, are you free today?"

Huang Zhenhua was unaware that Huang Taihe had returned. Hearing what Su Xingran said, he thought that Commander Gao and the leaders had probably made a decision.

"Xingran, your master has nothing to do today. Since we have guests, he will entertain them at home with you. Go and have breakfast first. After breakfast, ride your bicycle to the pharmacy and tell Uncle Li and the others that you have something to do today, so that those who come to see you for treatment won't have to wait in vain."

Su Xingran had the same idea. "Master, I understand. I'll go to the pharmacy after breakfast and tell Uncle Li and Aunt Li."

After finishing breakfast, Su Xingran went to the pharmacy, told Uncle Li and Aunt Li about the situation, and quickly left to head home. She had just parked her bicycle when there was a knock on the door.

Su Xingran walked over and opened the door. Standing outside were Commander Gao and a middle-aged man whom Su Xingran had never seen before.

"Commander Gao, comrade, hello, please come in and have a seat." Su Xingran didn't recognize the man, so she could only address him as "comrade."

Commander Gao led the middle-aged man inside. Su Xingran closed the door and led the two into the main hall. There was no one in the main hall; Huang Ma must have gone to buy groceries.

Commander Gao and the middle-aged man entered the main hall. Commander Gao smiled at Su Xingran. "Comrade Su Xingran, good morning! This is Secretary Chen, you can call him Comrade Chen. We've come to discuss the results of our discussions with you."

Su Xingran walked to the coffee table and picked up the teapot. She noticed that the surface of the teapot was warm. It seemed that the master or Aunt Huang had brewed the tea and left it there. Su Xingran poured a cup of tea for Commander Gao and Secretary Chen.
