"Battalion Commander Zhou, this lady is named Ru Mei. She's Xiao Cao's colleague and a star performer at the Jiangcheng Song and Dance Troupe! Ru Mei came to my house with Xiao Cao to borrow something. It just so happened to be lunchtime, so I invited them to stay for a meal," Fan Hongxia introduced.
Cao Jing added, "Ru Mei is twenty-two years old this year. She has been learning to dance since she was a child and has an excellent figure."
That was abrupt and flippant!
Didn't we agree to pretend to bump into each other and let them fall for each other on their own?
Fan Hongxia frowned and glanced at Cao Jing.
The girl named Rumei shyly tugged at Cao Jing's sleeve under the table.
Cao Jing didn't hold back at all and continued:
"Battalion Commander Zhou, isn't Ru Mei beautiful? She's the most beautiful girl in our regiment. Countless men pursue her, but she doesn't like any of them. She says that when she's looking for a partner, she has to find someone like a hero."
"I've heard about Battalion Commander Zhou's deeds; he's truly a hero!"
Ru Mei was so embarrassed that her face almost bled. She tugged hard at Cao Jing's clothes, and only then did Cao Jing shut up.
Zhou Weiguang looked at the three female comrades in front of him, as well as the table full of food and wine, and he understood everything.
Fan Hongxia invited him to her home for dinner, but when they arrived, she found that Instructor Chen was not there, which she found strange.
However, because Fan Hongxia had always treated him so well, he couldn't just leave.

Zhou Weiguang stood up and said to Fan Hongxia, "Sister-in-law, I suddenly remembered that I have some urgent camp affairs to attend to, so I'll be leaving now."

Fan Hongxia was taken aback again, "Your family member?"
Zhou Weiguang said, "You've seen him before, at the zoo last time."
Fan Hongxia thought for a moment, then gasped in surprise, "You mean Xiao Qin...?"
Zhou Weiguang nodded, glanced at Cao Jing, and turned to leave.
Fan Hongxia stood there stunned for a moment before slapping her thigh and exclaiming, "What kind of mess is this! I've just made a huge mistake!"
Then, Fan Hongxia looked at Cao Jing suspiciously, "You didn't know about your sister-in-law's affair with Battalion Commander Zhou?"
Cao Jing also deduced from Zhou Weiguang and Fan Hongxia's conversation that Zhou Weiguang had made a deal with Qin Hanshu, and that Qin Hanshu would be coming over soon.
She was very depressed. "Nobody told me, how would I know?"
Fan Hongxia assumed Cao Jing was angry that the Qin family had kept it from her, so she didn't say anything more.
Ru Mei stood up awkwardly. "Well, I'll be going now. The troupe has rehearsal this afternoon."
Fan Hongxia quickly said, "Why don't you eat before you leave? Everything is ready."
Ru Mei insisted on not staying for dinner.
Fan Hongxia then said to Cao Jing, "Then you should see your colleague off." As she spoke, she winked, implying that Cao Jing should explain the misunderstanding to Ru Mei.
Cao Jing got up and saw Ru Mei out.
"Don't mind me, I didn't know Battalion Commander Zhou had a girlfriend."
Cao Jing apologized, but her expression was nonchalant, as if she wasn't genuinely sorry.
Ru Mei felt uncomfortable after hearing what Cao Jing said at the dinner table.
She and Cao Jing have always had a good relationship. Although they are not as close as sisters, they are good friends who can confide in each other.
Cao Jing said she would introduce her to someone, and since she also happened to be looking to resolve her personal issues, she came.
Who knew it would end up being such an embarrassing situation!
If Cao Jing hadn't rushed to say those things at the dinner table, and hadn't brought up the matter, perhaps she wouldn't have lost face like this.
Ru Mei couldn't hold back any longer and asked, "Cao Jing, you're usually such a good person, how could you say such... frivolous things today?"
Even on a blind date, you shouldn't say things like "she has a good figure" or "she has many men pursuing her" in front of the man.
Anyone who didn't know better would think Cao Jing was her enemy, trying to smear her reputation.
Cao Jing, however, acted innocently, "Wasn't I saying that to make you seem popular? I was complimenting you..."
What's the market price? Are they treating her like merchandise?
Ru Mei felt a lump in her throat and, unwilling to say another word to Cao Jing, quickly walked away.
Cao Jing is two-faced; she should probably reduce her contact with her in the future!
Watching Ru Mei's retreating figure, Cao Jing also felt very frustrated.
Ru Mei is truly beautiful; her face is just as pretty as Qin Hanshu's. Although I don't know what Qin Hanshu's figure is like, it certainly can't compare to Ru Mei's when she's dancing.
She thought that Zhou Weiguang would at least have some thoughts about Ru Mei when he saw her.
Who knows if it's of any use?
Back in the building, they found that Fan Hongxia's husband, Lao Chen, had already returned. The door was open, and the two were arguing.
"Zhou Weiguang's marriage application has already been approved! His wife is coming over, and you're still trying to introduce him to potential partners? Have you lost your mind?!"
"How could I know if you didn't tell me? I was only trying to be helpful."
"If I hadn't told you, wouldn't you have asked first?"
"You always have a long face at home, who would dare to say a word to you?"
As the argument escalated, Fan Hongxia became aggrieved, "You're so talkative outside, but at home you're completely silent! Ever since the kids started boarding school, this house has become increasingly lifeless. I know you're disgusted with me, disgusted that I've become a haggard old woman..."
Seeing that the couple's argument had turned into Fan Hongxia's one-sided accusations and complaints, Cao Jing silently turned around and went upstairs.
