"You can't even control your unruly child, yet you have the nerve to come to my door and yell at me! Are you trying to make sure everyone knows you're a shrew from the countryside?"
"So what if I'm a shrew? Who do you think you are, arguing with a shrew? Don't think you're so great just because you're from the city. City people don't have any more face than us country folk!"
"You... get out! Take your little bastard and get out of here!"
"Fuck your grandma! Who are you calling a little bastard? Say it again and let me hear it..."
Qin Hanshu appeared from the stairwell, temporarily interrupting the two arguing.
"Oh, ladies, what's going on?"
The two women arguing were Cao Jing and a stranger, who was also holding the hand of a six or seven-year-old boy.
Cao Jing was so angry that her face turned red. She was panting heavily and staring at him without saying a word.
The unfamiliar woman asked Qin Hanshu rather unfriendly, "Who are you?"
Qin Hanshu pointed to her front door and said, "I live here. The man is Zhou Weiguang, the battalion commander of the Second Battalion."
Upon hearing Zhou Weiguang's name, the woman's complexion noticeably improved.
"Your surname is Qin, right? I came down to say hello on your wedding day, but I didn't see you. I just spoke a few words with your in-laws."
"Oh, my name is Liu Ercui, and my husband is the battalion commander of the First Battalion."
"Hello, sister-in-law," Qin Hanshu said with a smile, asking with concern, "What are you arguing about?"
Mentioning this, Liu Ercui glared at her child with annoyance.
"It's all my son's fault for causing trouble. He was playing with a slingshot downstairs and broke Xiao Cao's window, but..."
At this point, Liu Ercui rolled her eyes at Cao Jing.
"But Xiao Cao has such a bad temper. I brought Gou Dan to apologize to her and even offered to pay her money, but she immediately started cursing me out!"
"I thought we were in the wrong first, so I might as well accept the scolding. But she actually told me to get out of the apartment building and called me an illiterate country bumpkin who didn't deserve to live in this building!"
Liu Ercui gets angry whenever she talks about this.
She admitted that she was a shrew, and that she had heard all sorts of foul language when arguing with people in the countryside, so she didn't care what others said about her. But the one thing she couldn't stand was Cao Jing saying that she didn't deserve to live in this building.
Qin Hanshu knew the reason after hearing this.
Although she had only been married for a few days, she would often ask Zhou Weiguang who lived upstairs and downstairs.
The battalion commander was much older than Zhou Weiguang and was also a soldier from a rural background. Liu Ercui was his betrothal child, and they agreed to get married when the battalion commander returned home after completing his service.
But no one expected that the battalion commander would do so well and actually stay in the army.
When people reach higher places, their perspectives naturally broaden.
The battalion commander fell in love with a doctor from the medical clinic and even made a special trip back to his hometown to try and break off the arranged marriage he had with his family.
But later, something happened, and when the battalion commander returned, Liu Ercui was following him around. The two had already held a wedding banquet in their hometown.
Liu Ercui moved into the family dormitory, and the doctor was transferred to another place.
Outsiders don't know exactly what happened, but the doctor had already been inseparable from the battalion commander, had applied for a house, and had gotten to know everyone. They were just waiting for the battalion commander to return from his hometown so he could move into the building.
In the end, it was Liu Ercui who moved in.
Over the years, Liu Ercui and the battalion commander have not had a good life, and they quarrel every few days.
Therefore, people privately compare Liu Ercui with that doctor, and many people sympathize with the battalion commander, saying that if he had married that doctor, his life would definitely not have been so chaotic.
These words reached Liu Ercui's ears, and she even argued with someone about it.
Cao Jing said that Liu Ercui did not deserve to live in the family dormitory. Regardless of whether she meant to put down Liu Ercui or the doctor, she couldn't help but think in that direction.
“Sister-in-law,” Qin Hanshu looked at Cao Jing, “how badly is the glass broken? Get someone to replace it.”
Cao Jing snorted coldly, "You want to play peacemaker? I'm your own sister-in-law, are you siding with outsiders instead of me?"
Even Liu Ercui couldn't stand it anymore, "Little Qin only asked one question, and you already know she's on my side? With an unreasonable sister-in-law like you, Little Qin is really unlucky!"
Qin Hanshu turned to Cao Jing and said sternly, "There are more than just the two of you living in this building. Your noise can be heard on the first floor. You keep talking about manners and calling others shrewish, but tell me, isn't your own behavior, which lacks any sense of public morality, also a sign of poor manners?"
Cao Jing blushed, "You..."
Qin Hanshu gave Cao Jing a deep look. "You'd better watch yourself."
Cao Jing's heart skipped a beat; she had a feeling that the phrase "take care of yourself" was referring to something else entirely.
But looking at Qin Hanshu, they didn't notice anything special about her expression.
Cao Jing composed herself.
She is now prone to excessive sleepiness and can fall asleep anytime, anywhere. Grandma Huo says that her body is rejecting her soul.
In other words, the original owner was fighting with her for this body.
If she can get through this period, she will be able to fully possess this body.
However...Grandma Huo also said that the reason her body rejected her was because of external interference.
But Grandma Huo refused to say what this external force was.
Just now in the room, as she approached the bed, it seemed as if some inspiration flashed through her mind, prompting her to do something.
But before I could think about it, the sound of breaking glass completely silenced me.
Then, she could no longer grasp that fleeting thought.
