Cao Jing was about to give Ru Mei a piece of her mind, but when she walked out of the dance troupe's gate, she saw that it was already quite dark. The small park across the street had many trees, giving off a dark and gloomy atmosphere.
She swallowed back her harsh words and instead said, "Rumei, would you come with me to the small park across the street?"
Ru Mei asked warily, "What are you doing?"
Cao Jing said, "A relative is waiting for me there with his child. He asked me to help him see if his daughter is suitable for gymnastics... You practiced gymnastics when you were a child, so you're more professional than me. Could you help him take a look?"
Ru Mei sized up Cao Jing.

Ru Mei glanced at an office near the door with a light on and said, "Why don't you have your relative bring the child over? The little park is so dark, how are you going to see anything?"
Cao Jing was in a bit of a dilemma; her main goal was to get the money.
"Of course not in the park. Come with me and wait by the roadside. I'll call him over."
Cao Jing was too scared to go in alone because it was too dark, but she didn't want Ru Mei to come in with her, otherwise there were some things she wouldn't be able to say in front of Ru Mei. So she wanted Ru Mei to wait by the roadside to give her courage.
Ru Mei found Cao Jing's explanation acceptable.
Although the streetlights along the road were not lit, people and vehicles occasionally passed by.
The two walked hand in hand to the other side of the road.
On the way, Cao Jing suddenly remembered that she hadn't written a receipt yet, so she made an excuse that she had left something behind and ran back to her workplace.
