From the time the newspapers announced the resumption of the college entrance examination to the actual examination period, there was only a little over a month. After the exam, the time for announcing the results and the admission process was even shorter, less than a month.
The results came out before New Year's Day.
Qin Hanshu filled out her college application before the exam, and all the schools she applied to were local schools in Jiangcheng.
Jiangcheng has many universities, and several of them are among the top-ranked universities in the country.
Just to be on the safe side, the best school she applied to was Jiangcheng University of Science and Technology, a school that is not well-known nationwide.
To her surprise, the results far exceeded her expectations.
The admissions office said that her score was far above the admission line for the Polytechnic University, and she could apply to Jiangnan University. They asked her if she wanted to change her application.
Is this even possible?
Jiangnan University has a long history and is one of the top universities in the country; she had never even dared to dream of it.
After all, she only had an extra year of study time thanks to her prophecy, and she lacked confidence in getting into a top university.
However, since she met the score requirement and could change her application, she was definitely going to give it a try.
Anyway, her score speaks for itself; even if Jiangda University doesn't admit her, she won't have to worry about not having a university to attend. This is the first cohort after the resumption of the college entrance examination, and every university is eager to recruit talented students, but there are only so many candidates who meet the score requirements.
Less than half a month after Qin Hanshu changed her college application, she received an admission letter from Jiangcheng University.
Not many people applied for the exam in the family compound, but Qin Hanshu passed. Soon, their building was crowded with onlookers.
Fan Hongxia was overjoyed, as if she herself had passed the exam, and kept introducing Qin Hanshu to people while holding Qin Hanshu's hand.
"My sister is naturally smart; she learns everything very quickly!"
"Oh? Yes, her husband is Zhou Weiguang. The couple are both successful people, and their future is bright."
"Don't even mention it, like begets like, and a mouse's son knows how to dig a hole. My sister's son is exactly like his mother! He's a top student! Even though he's only in kindergarten, you can already tell he's a college student just by looking at him!"
Qin Hanshu quickly tugged at Fan Hongxia, saying, "Don't exaggerate too much."
Fan Hongxia gave her a smile to reassure her, then turned back to the crowd and continued, "Our building has produced a literary genius; it's an honor for all the residents..."
Fan Hongxia's words ended when Zhou Weiguang returned.
She waved excitedly at Zhou Weiguang, "Commander Zhou, your wife got into university!"
Two officers returned with Zhou Weiguang, and upon seeing this, they were both delighted and congratulated him.
Zhou Weiguang's appearance has changed a lot over the years. His face is a little whiter and more relaxed and gentle than when he was a low-ranking officer.
Yet, inexplicably, his demeanor exuded an even more authoritative and unapproachable aura. Not to mention his soldiers, even his close neighbors would unconsciously show him a look of respect when they met.
Now, everyone can finally take advantage of Qin Hanshu's joy at getting into university and joke around with him.
Fan Hongxia teased, "Commander Zhou, you have a sharp eye. You were determined to win over Xiao Qin, but you ended up with a college student instead."
Someone asked curiously, "Did Commander Zhou pursue her? We all thought it was Xiao Qin's brother who introduced them."
"No way!" Fan Hongxia shook her head repeatedly. "Commander Zhou took a liking to Xiao Qin behind Xiao Qin's back, and Xiao Qin initially didn't give Commander Zhou a friendly look..."
Fan Hongxia vividly recounted what happened back then to others. Zhou Weiguang wasn't angry. He walked up to Qin Hanshu and asked, "Did you receive your admission letter from Jiang University?"
Qin Hanshu nodded, "Mm."
Zhou Weiguang's expression remained calm, but a smile immediately appeared in his eyes. He raised his hand, wanting to hug Qin Hanshu, but then remembered that they were outside and forced himself to hold back.
He said a few words of thanks and congratulations to the others, then gave Qin Hanshu a wink.
go home!
As soon as the door closed, Zhou Weiguang seemed to transform into a completely different person. He threw down his briefcase and cupped Qin Hanshu's face in his hands, rubbing it vigorously.
My wife is awesome!
Qin Hanshu glared at him irritably and tore the pig's trotter apart.
Zhou Weiguang then brought his big mouth close and took several bites.
Qin Hanshu's face was distorted from being bitten.
"Dad, Mom, can't you be a little more mindful of the consequences?" Zhou Chi came out of the room, his expression and tone indifferent.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Qin Hanshu pushed Zhou Weiguang away, pointed at him, and said to her son, "It's your father who's shameless."
Zhou Chi looked at his father.
Zhou Weiguang, without blushing at all, went over and ruffled his son's hair, saying, "Grow up quickly."
Grow up quickly, marry your own wife, and then get out of this house...
Zhou Chi, unaware that his father had already sent him to his maternal grandmother's house out of disdain, ran to Qin Hanshu and asked, "Mom, can I see your acceptance letter?"
Qin Hanshu was surprised. The notice was just a blank sheet of paper with words written on it. Zhou Chi could probably only recognize a few simple words.
But she still gave it to Zhou Chi, you see.
Zhou Chi rarely smiled, his eyes sparkling.
Zhou Weiguang said, "You little brat, you need to learn from your mother, you know? You'll have to get into university someday too."
Zhou Chi: "I know."
Zhou Weiguang paused for a moment, then chuckled.
His words were superfluous to Zhou Chi.
Zhou Chi: "Before I can take the college entrance exam, I have to go to elementary school first, right? So, can I go to elementary school this year?"
Zhou Chi was already quite impatient with kindergarten.
Qin Hanshu sized him up for a while.
Zhou Chi has grown taller in the past six months and has caught up with Pei'er, but he is still thin and weak.
If I went to elementary school, I would definitely be the shortest one in the class.
After explaining the problem, Qin Hanshu asked Zhou Chi, "What if someone in the class bullies you?"
Without thinking, Zhou Chi replied, "No one will bully me."
Zhou Weiguang said, "That's not necessarily true. You're much thinner and weaker than others."
Zhou Chi glanced at his father and said lightly, "I may be thin, but I'm not mentally challenged. I'll naturally get along well with my classmates."
Zhou Weiguang choked.
Okay, I'm not saying anything more.
Qin Hanshu thought for a moment and said, "Okay, when school starts in September, I'll send you to primary school."
Zhou Chi smiled and said, "Mom is the best."
Qin Hanshu felt a sweet warmth in her heart and opened her arms, saying, "Come here, let Mommy give you a hug."
Zhou Chi turned around and went back to his room, saying, "I'm going to practice calligraphy."
Qin Hanshu sighed at Zhou Weiguang, "When will I be able to have a child like Mengmeng who knows how to be affectionate?"
Zhou Weiguang walked over and put his arm around her, saying, "Then I'll try my best tonight."
Speaking of this, Qin Hanshu suddenly remembered that her relatives seemed to be too late again.
Perhaps, Zhou Weiguang doesn't need to make any effort.
