Qin Hanshu did not have a good Spring Festival.
"Ugh~" This was the umpteenth time she had run to the toilet.
She thought that the morning sickness during her first pregnancy was bad enough, but she didn't expect it to be even worse this time.
"What can we do? He finally managed to eat something, but he threw it all up. How can his body take this?" Zhou Weiguang patted his back, his voice filled with worry.
After a while, Qin Hanshu straightened up, her eyes glazed over.
Feeling listless, she reached out her hand to Zhou Weiguang and asked him to help her walk.
Zhou Weiguang simply picked her up and put her on the bed.
"Wait here, I'll go make you some more white fungus soup. You drank half a bowl of it yesterday, didn't you?"
Yesterday was New Year's Eve. Qin Feiyang cooked a large table of dishes, but Qin Hanshu didn't eat any of them. She only drank a small bowl of white fungus soup and ate a few bites of noodles.
Qin Hanshu quickly stopped him, "No, I don't want to drink it today. Just imagining that sticky texture makes me nauseous."
Zhou Weiguang rubbed his face in frustration. What could he do if he couldn't eat?
"You can leave now. I want to sleep alone for a while. Close the door behind you. Don't come in unless I call you."
Zhou Weiguang hesitated, "Then should I ask Sister Ercui to help me make some fermented fish?"
Zhou Weiguang recalled that when Qin Hanshu was pregnant with Zhou Chi, she particularly liked to eat the fish cooked in fermented rice wine by Liu Ercui.
Qin Hanshu frowned and shook her head. "Go out. I'll take a nap and talk about it later."
Zhou Weiguang had no choice but to leave first.
Once the door closed, the room was plunged into darkness.
Qin Hanshu waited for a while, and only after confirming that Zhou Weiguang was indeed listening to her and would not disturb her for the time being, did she slip into the space.
Her reaction these past few days has been extremely severe; she can't eat anything except the fruit from her spatial storage.
After eating something in the space, Qin Hanshu lay down on the lawn to rest.
The soft, cloud-like sensation made her feel much more comfortable.
However, considering that Zhou Weiguang was still at home outside, and that Zhou Chi in another room might come out to look for her mother at any time, she didn't dare to stay in the space for too long.
As luck would have it, as soon as Qin Hanshu stepped out of the space, she could indeed hear faint noises coming from outside.
It looks like a group of children making a fuss.
Suddenly, a strange adult voice rang out, abrupt and shrill.
"I don't care! That little brat knocked out my son's teeth, and I'm going to get justice today!"
Qin Hanshu got up and went out.
Zhou Weiguang happened to open the door from the outside and came in. When he saw Qin Hanshu come out, he frowned and said, "I was worried about waking you up."
"What happened?" Qin Hanshu stopped Zhou Weiguang from closing the door and went out to see.
A group of people were blocking the stairwell outside, the source of which was Liu Ercui's apartment upstairs.
When Cao Jing saw Qin Hanshu come out, she explained, "They said Pei'er beat someone up and knocked out their teeth."
Qin Hanshu was surprised, "How could Pei'er, a four-year-old girl, knock out someone's teeth?"
As she spoke, Qin Hanshu walked through the group of children and went upstairs.
Zhang Lei was apologizing to a woman with a serious expression, "We were wrong about this. We will compensate you for the child's medical expenses."
"That's more like it!" the woman scoffed.
"It's not that I'm being nosy, Battalion Commander Zhang, but you've really wasted your life marrying such an unreasonable country tigress. Doctor Qiao was such a wonderful person back then—virtuous, capable, and educated. If she had been able to bear you children, she definitely wouldn't have given birth to a girl like this."
As the woman spoke, she pointed at Pei'er.
Qin Hanshu glanced at the woman a few times and remembered that she had met this woman at the entrance of the cooperative a few years ago during the Spring Festival.
He had mentioned Doctor Qiao to Liu Ercui at the time, which easily ignited Liu Ercui's anger.
"What did you say?!" Upon hearing Dr. Qiao's words, Liu Ercui instantly flew into a rage. "Who's the tigress? You can't expect anything good to come out of a dog's mouth! What's wrong with my daughter? My daughter already said that it was your son who bullied my Yue'er first, and that's why she hit him!"
"Bullshit!" the woman glared angrily. "My son is such a well-behaved child, how could he bully anyone?"
As they talked, the atmosphere, which had calmed down, became heated again.
Liu Ercui was really indignant; she didn't believe her daughter would hit someone for no reason.
"Yue'er!" Liu Ercui pulled Yue'er, who was standing in the corner, over. "Tell me, didn't Xiaoming bully you first, and that's why you asked Pei'er to help you get revenge?"
Yue'er was already trembling with fear, and after Liu Ercui pulled her into the middle of the crowd, her face turned even paler and she was on the verge of tears.
The woman sneered, "What do you mean Yue'er asked Pei'er to help her take revenge? Ha, Liu Ercui, you're such a good mother. Your own daughter made a mistake, but you push the responsibility onto your adopted daughter."
Pei'er stiffened her neck, her round face turning red, "But it was Xiaoming who scared Sister Yue'er with firecrackers first!"
Yue'er nodded quickly and said, "Yes...that's how it is..."
Although she admitted it, her aggrieved expression was not convincing at all; instead, it gave the impression that she was only saying it under pressure.
Sure enough, the woman then said, "Tsk tsk tsk, a shrew's daughter is a little shrew, she's known how to bully her older sister since she was little!"
It wasn't so important about herself, but when it came to her daughter, Liu Ercui simply couldn't hold back.
She rolled up her sleeves and went toward the woman.
The woman was startled and cried out in a shrill voice, "Battalion Commander Zhang, your wife is going to hit someone, aren't you going to do anything about it!"
"Enough!" Zhang Lei glared at Liu Ercui. "Stop embarrassing yourself!"
