Qin Feiyang truly lives up to his name, radiating brilliance and high spirits.
Unfortunately, it ended up like that.
Cao Jing then looked at Qin Hanshu beside her, her gaze complicated.
Since Qin Hanshu is still alive, will Qin Feiyang's fate also change?
Cao Jing transmigrated into a book, specifically into a period novel she had just finished reading.
This book tells the story of the female protagonist Hu Wenwen's transformation from mediocrity to brilliance, interspersed with some face-slapping and revenge scenes.
The book received somewhat polarized reviews.
Those who dislike books are basically concerned with two things.
First, the female lead's cheat ability originally did not belong to her, but to her stepsister.
The stepsister in the book has an unlikable, naive personality and always puts the female lead in a bad light. In order to teach her stepsister a lesson, the female lead steals her stepsister's most beloved string of prayer beads.
Unexpectedly, the stepsister committed suicide because she didn't want to go to the countryside, and the female protagonist also discovered that there was a hidden space inside the rosary.
Therefore, the female protagonist naturally acquired the space.
The stepsister doesn't have many scenes in the book, and the limited portrayal focuses on her spoiled nature, inability to endure hardship, selfishness, and other shortcomings.
However, the stepsister didn't do anything too malicious to the female lead. She just died to provide the female lead with a cheat ability, which inevitably evoked sympathy from some people.
Furthermore, the stepsister's death was too sudden and illogical.
The book says that the stepsister committed suicide because she was afraid of going to the countryside. But the stepmother was able to find a job for the protagonist, so why did her own daughter have to go to the countryside?
Consequently, the kind, virtuous, and fair stepmother in the book has received more negative reviews.
The second point that people who dislike books care about is the stepsister's cousin.
If the female lead's stepsister is a minor cannon fodder, then her cousin is a major cannon fodder, because his family suffered particularly tragic fates due to their opposition to the female lead.
However, the cousin initially opposed the female lead because he believed that his sister's death was mysterious and that his motive of seeking revenge for her was reasonable.
People who already have a sympathetic bias towards their stepsisters will naturally find excuses for their cousins' behavior.
Cao Jing didn't have many thoughts while reading the book. Even though she shared the same name as her cousin's wife, she tried her best to ignore it and finished the book.
She identified with the female lead, and overall it was quite enjoyable.
But who would have thought that she would be transported into the book right after reading it!
She was dressed as a background character with the same name as her cousin—a cannon fodder character.
Cao Jing, a character in the book, has no more than ten lines in total and is almost invisible. However, in the end, in order to show her cousin's misery, she is not only insulted by thugs but also killed by a car.
Cao Jing's transmigration was triggered by her sudden death from staying up all night, while the original owner of this body accidentally tripped and fell while practicing martial arts.
She saw her stunning reflection in the mirror and, before she could even rejoice at having acquired such a beautiful body, discovered she had transmigrated into a book. This happened yesterday afternoon.
Today, she saw the main cannon fodder and the minor cannon fodder in the book.
To be honest, she was pleasantly surprised when she saw Qin Feiyang, the cannon fodder character. The book didn't describe Qin Feiyang's appearance, and she didn't know that he was actually a handsome guy.
A handsome guy who perfectly matches her aesthetic!
Moreover, the cannon fodder who should have died long ago is still alive! And the female lead's family all met with bad ends.
Cao Jing couldn't help but let her imagination run wild. Perhaps, her stepsister, this little cannon fodder, had been reborn? If a female supporting character is reborn, wouldn't she have to take care of the female lead?
However, after some probing, Cao Jing didn't think Qin Hanshu was someone who had been reborn.
Perhaps Qin Feiyang was reborn? Or perhaps the rebirth of other female supporting characters in the book caused a butterfly effect, resulting in Qin Hanshu not dying? There are also female supporting characters who are even more tragic than Qin Hanshu.
Regardless, Cao Jing believes that the world has gone astray.
She was originally worried because she and Qin Feiyang had even obtained their marriage certificate and were legally husband and wife, so it wouldn't be so easy for her to get a divorce!
Well, things have gone awry; the original ending probably won't repeat itself.
To put it another way, she wouldn't be as useless as Cao Jing in the book, capable of helping Qin Feiyang avoid the plot.
Qin Feiyang went against the female lead for his sister's sake, living his entire life in hatred and never considering his family. Cao Jing found this aspect quite distasteful while reading the book.
Cao Jing looked at Qin Hanshu.
Regardless of whether Qin Hanshu is reborn or not, he is destined to stand on the opposite side of the female lead. If he is reborn, it's even worse; he'll have to hate the female lead to death and fight her endlessly.
Even though the female lead has deviated from the original plot and gone to the countryside, and is temporarily in a low point, she is still the female lead, the protagonist of this world!
Cao Jing felt it was better to keep Qin Feiyang away from Qin Hanshu.
Fortunately, the siblings lived far apart, and transportation was inconvenient in those days. As long as Qin Feiyang wasn't forced to change careers, the siblings would gradually drift apart.
Having made up her mind, Cao Jing felt at ease.
After the wedding, Qin Hanshu will have to return to the Northwest.
After marriage, she could slowly brainwash Qin Feiyang and distance herself from their sibling relationship.
"Sister-in-law, is there something on my face? Why are you staring at me like that?"
Qin Hanshu's words brought Cao Jing back to her senses. She shook her head and looked away, "It's nothing, it's nothing..."
Qin Feiyang, on the other side, finally sensed something was wrong.
Today, Cao Jing kept staring at her younger sister, and she would stare at her for a long time.
Logically speaking, Cao Jing wouldn't be so rude.
And that gaze didn't seem like it was out of affection...
Qin Feiyang placed a piece of food on Cao Jing's and Qin Hanshu's plates and said, "After you finish eating, I'll take you for a boat trip on the lake."
