Chapter 71 "Want to see a movie?"

Qin Hanshu was also holding two strings of candied hawthorns, one of which belonged to Zhou Weiguang.

She wanted to take the car and push it herself so that Zhou Weiguang could free up one hand.

But she found that with a string of candied hawthorns in one hand, she couldn't push the cart with just her other hand.

Zhou Weiguang said, "Let me do it."

Qin Hanshu: "Then how do you eat...?"

At this moment, Yang's cousin suggested, "Why don't you just feed him?"

Yang's cousin thought that since the two were Zhou Ruilan's older brother and sister, they were siblings.

There is nothing wrong with siblings feeding each other.

Although Zhou Weiguang was still looking straight ahead, his ears were already incredibly red.

Qin Hanshu understood her cousin Yang's thoughts and was about to explain when she caught sight of Zhou Weiguang, so she swallowed her words.

She suddenly had a wicked idea and held the candied hawthorn to Zhou Weiguang's mouth.

"Brother, eat."

Zhou Weiguang was surprised that Qin Hanshu actually did it.

Moreover, the moment that joking "brother" was uttered, he felt half of his body go numb.

He turned to look at Qin Hanshu, and saw that Qin Hanshu's lips were curved and her eyes were full of bright teasing. He was stunned for a moment.

Then, he took a bite of the candied hawthorn skewer near his mouth.

This time, Qin Hanshu was stunned.

Zhou Weiguang seemed oblivious and continued biting into the candied hawthorn. After a few bites, he gestured to Qin Hanshu with his eyes that she could remove the remaining stick.

Qin Hanshu glanced at Zhou Weiguang, whose ears were no longer red, and silently threw away the stick.

"You siblings have a really good relationship," Yang's cousin complimented, then asked, "How many siblings are there in your family?"

It took Qin Hanshu a while to regain her composure before she explained to her cousin from the Yang family, "He and I are not blood-related siblings. There are three siblings in the Zhou family: two older brothers and one younger sister. Originally, there was also an older brother, but he died in an accident when he was a teenager."

Yang's cousin assumed Qin Hanshu was a cousin or something, so she didn't ask any further questions and continued talking about the Yang family's situation.

“I am Guangyu’s cousin. My mother and Guangyu’s mother are sisters. Guangyu has two brothers, and he is the younger brother.”

Qin Hanshu asked, "Is Guangyu's brother married?"

"That's for sure. You can only consider your younger brother after your older brother gets married."

Yang's cousin said, "Brother Guangyu is a very honest person. He didn't study much and got married very early. His wife is from the countryside and doesn't have a job. The two of them live with their parents."

Qin Hanshu: "So after our Lanhua gets married, she'll have to live with my brother, sister-in-law, and parents?"

"No way!" Yang's cousin laughed. "The railway is building new dormitories. Guangyu is more capable than his brother. He managed to get one himself. Lanhua will live in her own little home after she gets married, and she can be in charge of her own life."

As she spoke, Yang's cousin affectionately took Qin Hanshu's arm and whispered, "She's the sister of Deputy Director Zhou of the Revolutionary Committee. The Yang family is incredibly lucky to have her. How could they not stay here properly?"

Sure enough, her family had a strong backing, so everything was easy to negotiate.

Qin Hanshu nodded and also revealed some information about Zhou Ruilan.

“Our Lan Hua is a bit childish, but very filial. Her two older brothers are unable to be by their parents’ side to take care of them because of their work. In order to take care of her parents, she even turned down her job at the county supply and marketing cooperative.”

When Zhou Ruilan graduated from junior high school, Zhou Weili planned to arrange for her to work in the supply and marketing cooperative, but she didn't do it, and the reason was indeed that she couldn't bear to leave her parents.

Yang's cousin complimented, "The supply and marketing cooperative? That's a good organization."

Qin Hanshu also laughed and said, "Yes, after the wedding, Lan Hua will have to move to the city. At that time, we will inevitably have to trouble her second brother to solve her household registration and job problems."

Yang Guangyu had his eye on Zhou Ruilan's photo, but Yang's parents were initially unwilling and even complained that the matchmaker had included a photo of a rural woman.

Later, after the matchmaker explained, it was discovered that although the woman was from the countryside, her brother had a distinguished background.

The Yang family sent Yang Guangyu's cousin over, thinking that their son was foolish and only cared about pretty girls. They wanted Yang Guangyu's cousin to find out what the Zhou family's plans were for Zhou Ruilan.

Hearing that her household registration and job could be resolved, Yang's cousin was immediately relieved and became even more affectionate towards Qin Hanshu.

Zhou Weiguang glanced sideways and saw Qin Hanshu busily chatting with her cousin from the Yang family. She looked just as good as Zhou Ruilan's own sister.

No, Zhou Ruilan doesn't have a biological older sister; she can only be a sister-in-law.

A secret thrill rose in Zhou Weiguang's heart, and he couldn't help but smile, making his serious face seem less serious.

After glancing at Zhou Weiguang, Yang's cousin whispered to Qin Hanshu, "Is Lan Hua's brother a soldier? Is he married?"

Zhou Weiguang was wearing a military uniform with insignia today, making him instantly recognizable as a soldier.

Qin Hanshu said, "This is Lan Hua's third brother, a promising young military officer who is not yet married."

Yang's cousin's eyes lit up, and she praised, "Lanhua's brothers are all very successful."

Zhou Ruilan herself is not particularly outstanding except for her beauty, but her two older brothers are both promising. This marriage is definitely a good deal.

After visiting the temple fair, Zhou Ruilan had a windmill, a wooden horse, and a sugar painting in her hands.

Yang Guangyu would buy Zhou Ruilan almost anything she liked as soon as he saw it.

Being bad at talking doesn't mean you can't use actions to please girls.

Qin Hanshu sighed softly to Zhou Weiguang, "This Yang Guangyu seems quite thoughtful and good at pleasing girls."

Zhou Weiguang said "Oh," seemingly lost in thought.
