Chapter 13 Entering the County Town

Li Xiuhua remained silent for a long time before finally whispering something.

"Forget it, the back mountain is too dangerous, don't go there, Mom will think of a way for you."

After Li Xiuhua finished speaking, she went back into her house.

Although she didn't like this home, it was her home; that small house was her place of refuge.

Lin Qingyu looked at Li Xiuhua with heartache, feeling that her own money-making plan should be put on the agenda.

She returned to her small bedroom in the storage room, lay down on the small bed, and once again entered her own space.

As always, Lin Qingyu walked towards the door and tried to push it open.

She hadn't had much hope, but with a strong push, she actually managed to open the door!

Just as she was overjoyed, she saw that the outside world was just a small section of road.

It's the curb in front of the store, commonly known as the sidewalk; you can't see it anywhere else.

Lin Qingyu cautiously walked to the edge, and took a large scallion to test the waters.

There was no reaction, as if an invisible wall blocked her path of exploration.

After trying for a while, Lin Qingyu returned to the supermarket with little interest and carefully examined what she could use.

Besides rice, flour, and oil, there are also some mung beans, red beans, soybeans, and various agricultural products. It seems there's nothing else particularly suitable.

Unless she can change the packaging.

But it feels too dangerous, so let's play it safe for now. Anyway, it will be open in a few years.

As she wandered around, she suddenly noticed that the spot where she had taken the eight-treasure porridge was now completely full.

Could it be that the items in the space will automatically recover?

Lin Qingyu walked a few steps to the vegetable section. She remembered that the shepherd's purse she had taken last time was almost gone.

The result was a wonderful surprise; it really did return to its original state.

She remained immersed in this surprise until she emerged from the space.

She experimented several times and concluded that when she entered the space, her physical body must have entered.

However, when taking things out of the house or putting things out of the house, you don't need to go in yourself.

It's a very convenient and user-friendly space.

Even when Lin Qingyu was asleep, the corners of her mouth were turned up.

Early the next morning, Li Xiuhua went into Lin Qingyu's room to wake her up.

Because there are no buses for them to go to the county town now, they can only take the village's donkey cart.

Moreover, that donkey cart doesn't go to the county town every day; today just happens to be the day it goes.

Seating is limited; it can only accommodate a maximum of five more people.

So they had to get there early to secure a seat, setting off before dawn.

When they arrived at the place where they usually waited for the donkey cart at the east end of the village, which wasn't far from Gu Shi's house, Lin Qingyu didn't hear any noise from his house.

Judging from Gu Shi's personality, he should have already left.

After waiting for a while, the village's donkey cart driver, who was in charge of watching over the carts, slowly drove the cart over.

There were two other people nearby, one of whom was the plump aunt from last time, whose name was Julie.

Another one is from the next village.

After the four people got into the car, the driver was just about to set off when he suddenly heard someone shout from behind.

"Wait a minute, what about me!"

The people in the car turned around and exclaimed, "Wow!"

"Wait for me! I need to go into town to buy some things too!"

This person is not very tall, quite small, and has the kind of face that suggests he won't be bullied.

"Sister-in-law, are you taking Qingyu into town to buy things? Congratulations! It seems like only yesterday that Qingyu was about to get married!"

This is Lin Aiguo's younger sister, Lin Juanjuan. Lin Qingyu should call her aunt.

Li Xiuhua greeted her politely, but then completely ignored her on the rest of the way.

Without even a second thought, it must have been Lin Aiguo who sent her.

This wasn't Lin Qingyu's first time riding in a donkey cart, and the swaying and rocking road made her feel nauseous.

She has always suffered from motion sickness and never wanted to ride in a car in her previous life. So even after the two of them bought a car in their previous life, she never rode in it.

Looking back now, I really feel sorry for myself.

Fortunately, the dirt road in the village was soon finished, and before long we reached the cement road, which was much less bumpy.

Lin Qingyu tried to look at the scenery elsewhere and try not to think about her motion sickness, so the journey wasn't too difficult.

The road to the county town isn't very long, but it still takes more than two hours to get there by donkey cart.

After a long and arduous journey, they finally arrived in the county town. The driver then reminded them to wait until 2 p.m. at the latest.

It's 8 a.m. now, we still have several hours to explore.

It seemed that Aunt Pang and the man from the next village had made an appointment beforehand, and the two of them left together.

Li Xiuhua was leading Lin Qingyu towards the department store that sells fabrics when Lin Juanjuan unexpectedly followed them.

"Sister-in-law, I'll go with you. I can learn from you and get some for my little girl too, otherwise I won't know anything about these things!"

She insisted on coming along, and Li Xiuhua couldn't refuse, so she had no choice but to let her.

When we arrived at the department store, it was as crowded as ever; no matter the time of year, department stores are never short of people.

Li Xiuhua pulled Lin Qingyu along and carefully instructed her, "Don't run around. If you get lost later, I won't look for you!"

Lin Qingyu smiled and said, "I'm not a child anymore, I won't get lost."

"Besides, if I really can't find you, I'll just go back to where we got off the bus and wait there!"

Li Xiuhua looked at her disapprovingly, frowned, but said nothing, and led her inside.

The two walked straight to the fabric counter, and Lin Juanjuan followed them.
