Gu Shi didn't even frown, and he said without looking up.
"Just handle it the way you need to. Do I need to teach you that?"
Zhang Deyi didn't react for a moment, and asked blankly, "What? How do we handle it?"
Gu Shi looked up from his busy work: "With so many people under our organization, is there no one who can handle this?"
Zhang Deyi was confused for a while before he suddenly remembered the legal department that Gu Shi had specifically hired to set up.
Could this be what Gu Shi was referring to?
Zhang Deyi had never been exposed to these things before, so he could only bite the bullet and ask one more question.
"Boss, you mean we're going to sue them?"
Gu Shi looked at him and asked, "Is what the newspaper says true?"
No!
"Even though I never went to university, I know this is defamation! You should talk to the legal department yourself!"
Zhang Deyi finally understood a little bit and ran out.
While we were waiting for the legal team to communicate, it was already afternoon, and a large crowd had already gathered at the entrance of the brick factory.
People's lives have improved a lot now, so newspapers are starting to look for news everywhere, and reporters are working hard, waiting from midday onwards for a big story.
Reporters with notebooks and photographers with large cameras—a dozen or so people—were crammed together at the entrance of the brick factory.
Zhang Deyi stared at the group through the iron gate for a long time, but he simply didn't have the courage to drive them away.
He could imagine that once he opened the iron gate, he would be met with a barrage of criticism from these sharp-tongued reporters.
Just as the reporters were standing across the iron gate from Zhang Deyi, and the reporters were preparing to launch another "attack," someone finally came to Zhang Deyi's rescue.
On the main road leading to the brick factory, a car was slowly driving by, with three people inside.
One was the driver, and the other was Lin Weidong.
The car stopped at the back of the crowd, and the reporters spotted someone and started snapping at them.
"Hello sir, I'm from the New Moon Times. May I ask what your relationship is with the jade brick factory? What is the purpose of your visit?"
"Sir! I am a reporter from Ta Kung Pao. What is your opinion on the incident of Mr. Gu assaulting someone?"
"Mr. Lin, I am a reporter from Qingyun Newspaper. Are you the legal counsel that Mr. Gu has invited?"
Everyone was talking at once, and Lin Weidong looked a little frightened even before he got out of the car.
Fortunately, the man next to him patted him on the shoulder, encouraging him to keep going.
Lin Weidong took a deep breath, strode down, and then turned around to respectfully invite his teacher to get out of the car.
As soon as the two landed, the reporters bombarded them with questions. Lin Muyu turned to look at the reporters from Qingyun Newspaper.
She was a very pretty girl, and that was the only question he answered.
“I am not the consultant hired by Mr. Gu; I am just the lawyer in charge of this case.”
Upon hearing this, the reporters exchanged bewildered glances. So, Gu Shi was planning to sue that newspaper from today?
Or rather, a lawsuit has already been filed and the case has been accepted!
Otherwise, why would this lawyer, who seems so capable, say he's in charge of the case?
Before the reporters could even react, Zhang Deyi had already prepared to open the large iron gate to welcome the two distinguished guests.
Lin Weidong followed Lin Muyu inside, while the reporters behind them remained completely silent, as if they had all taken a poison to make them mute.
Of course, everyone is just an employee and doesn't want to get into legal trouble.
As Zhang Deyi closed the door, he glanced at the reporters outside and saw them preparing to pack up and leave. He immediately realized that this Mr. Lin was no ordinary person.
He looked very smug, and right in front of the reporters, he slammed the big iron gate shut.
"Mr. Lin, you've had a long journey. Let me take you to our boss first!"
Zhang Deyi caught up with Lin Muyu and her companion who were walking ahead, and said to Lin Muyu in a flattering tone.
Unexpectedly, Lin Muyu didn't stop walking. Her shiny leather shoes clattered as she walked on the bluestone pavement.
"No need, Xiao Dong can keep me company. Mr. Zhang, you can go and attend to your own business!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Weidong led his men around the corner and walked towards the office building.
Indeed, Lin Weidong was very familiar with this place and didn't need Zhang Deyi.
So Zhang Deyi simply waved his hand and said, "Then I won't see you off. Xiao Dong, please take good care of Mr. Lin!"
After calling out a couple of times and receiving a nod from Lin Weidong, Zhang Deyi considered his mission accomplished.
Soon, Lin Weidong and his companion arrived at Gu Shi's office.
He knocked on the door, and Gu Shi's deep voice came through: "Come in!"
Lin Weidong pushed open the office door and let Lin Muyu go in first.
As soon as Gu Shi saw the person arrive, he quickly put down his work.
He walked over to the sofa, gestured for Lin Muyu to sit down, poured her a cup of tea, and began to explain his demands.
"In short, that's the truth. That newspaper published inappropriate remarks, and I demand that they issue a public apology to the brick factory on the front page of all major newspapers."
Gu Shi recounted the entire story from beginning to end, without hiding anything.
As Lin Muyu listened, she took notes in her notebook, and basically understood the whole story.
He adjusted his glasses and said, "I believe what you said, Mr. Gu, but I'd like to ask a question."
At this point, Lin Muyu paused for a moment, as if organizing her thoughts.
Then he continued, "When Zhang Lin made those threats or did those things, did he leave any evidence?"
Gu Shi thought for a moment and shook his head, saying, "I don't have any evidence, but I have a witness, someone who came with him back then."
Lin Muyu asked, "Are you an employee of your factory now?"
Gu Shi nodded: "Yes, but several people came back then, but they all left when the brick factory was in a bad situation last time, leaving only one."
Lin Muyu thought for a moment and then said, "If he's an employee of your brick factory, then what he says might not be effective."
Gu Shi frowned upon hearing this; he hadn't expected there to be so many twists and turns involved.
The two spent the afternoon discussing some details and finally settled on a plan.
Gu Shi got up and was about to lead his men to the canteen for lunch: "Thank you for your hard work, Mr. Lin. The food at our brick factory is pretty good. Please give it a try!"
Lin Muyu refused again, saying, "No need, Xiao Dong can take me."
Lin Weidong finally found his purpose again and immediately nodded to Gu Shi.
"I can do it, brother-in-law. You're busy! For the rest, you just need to contact the legal department. I'll let you know when I need your help."
Gu Shi had no choice but to agree; with Lin Weidong around, he felt at ease.
After everyone left, Gu Shi turned around and returned to the sofa.
He sat there wearily, feeling that something was about to happen, as if the problem wouldn't be solved so easily.
