Gu Shi's face was gloomy and expressionless.
Zhao Xiaobao got up and saw Gu Shi busy, so he went over to help.
"Uncle, you came home so late last night! Is there trouble at the factory?"
Zhao Xiaobao has grown taller quickly, and is much taller than last year.
Gu Shi glanced at him and said, "The factory is fine. Your master introduced you to a school. I'll take you to check it out later."
Zhao Xiaobao responded calmly, showing no sign of excitement.
Gu Shi was used to it. The way the two got along was a bit strange, but neither of them could tell.
The meal was ready just as Lin Qingyu woke up.
After the meal, Lin Qingyu felt much better and decided to go out to check on her restaurant.
Gu Shi was worried and insisted on going with them, so the whole family appeared at the restaurant together again.
Lin Qingyu had handed over the grocery shopping to the head chef early in the morning, not because she trusted him, but mainly because she found it troublesome.
She was unfamiliar with the area, so this was a way of giving face to the elderly ladies in the neighborhood.
Lin Qingyu only found out later that many powerful families lived in the community.
After checking the cleanliness of the store, Lin Qingyu nodded in satisfaction.
Everyone has their own priorities when opening a shop. Lin Qingyu values hygiene because she runs a restaurant.
Gu Shi values safety, and the factory pays close attention to this.
The staff arrived one after another, and the overall atmosphere among everyone was quite relaxed.
Zhou Jiahui ran over and grabbed Lin Qingyu's hand.
"Boss lady, we were all planning to visit you at your house, but Zhao Xiaobao wouldn't let us, saying you're resting at home and not seeing any guests!"
This person was the most lively one in the shop, and Lin Qingyu was usually very approachable, so they got along very well.
She continued, exaggerating, "Boss lady, your little nephew is really well-mannered, protective of you, and quite capable!"
Zhou Jiahui glanced at Zhao Xiaobao, but didn't dare to touch him, and then said...
"I heard he got the medicine for you yesterday. Is it really that effective?"
The people in the shop clearly didn't believe it. Some of the children were only thirteen or fourteen years old and couldn't even read, let alone see a doctor or get medicine!
But seeing Lin Qingyu so lively and energetic, I wonder what happened to her yesterday.
Lin Qingyu smiled and said, "Of course, you all have no idea, I almost fainted yesterday!"
"I was still feeling dizzy even after getting an IV at the hospital and going home. But after taking the medicine Xiaobao gave me, I feel much better today!"
She wasn't exaggerating; she was just telling the truth. Although the people in the shop weren't entirely convinced yet, the seeds of admiration had already been planted in their hearts.
After they finished playing around, the restaurant reopened.
Before the guests arrived, several burly men suddenly appeared outside the door, whispering among themselves, but they didn't come in.
Zhou Jiahui took the initiative to walk over and asked, "What would you like to eat? We can cook, and we also have steamed buns, dumplings, and other dishes. Come in and have a look!"
One of them immediately asked, "Is Lin Qingyu the proprietress here?"
Someone tugged at him and smiled at Zhou Jiahui, "We just need a few steamed buns, and while we're at it, let's find our fellow villager, Lin Qingyu!"
Zhou Jiahui didn't know what these people meant, so she could only invite them in first.
Lin Qingyu was at the counter doing the accounting when she saw the person who came in, and her brows furrowed slightly.
Why are these people here?
Gu Shi hadn't had a chance to tell her yet, and now that person was gone, only she, Zhao Xiaobao, and their own employees were left in the shop.
The five people sat at one table, and everyone seemed a little awkward and unnatural.
Zhou Jiahui greeted them with a smile, "Would you like some steamed buns? We have white flour steamed buns, cornbread, and sorghum steamed buns. How many would you like?"
The man who had spoken politely earlier said, "I'd like five... ten sorghum buns!"
He originally wanted to ask for five, but then he thought that there wouldn't be enough for everyone, so he simply asked for a few more.
Zhou Jiahui didn't look down on anyone; she even offered to bring a pot of water.
"The tea in the shop is free, and we'll pour you more if you need more."
The group nodded awkwardly and each poured themselves a glass of water.
Lin Qingyu then walked over. Although she didn't want to face him, he was, after all, a fellow villager.
"Brother Zhang, what brings you here?"
When the group saw Lin Qingyu approaching, they all stood up excitedly.
"Qingyu, is this restaurant really yours?"
This is the person who asked Lin Qingyu questions right away; they were rather impulsive.
Zhang Lin pulled him up again and greeted Lin Qingyu with a smile.
"Sister Qingyu, we heard this is your restaurant, so we thought we'd come and try our luck. We never expected to actually run into you!"
Lin Qingyu smiled and said, "You've come all this way, it must have been a long journey. I'll treat you to dinner today."
"I'm so sorry, I can't let you spend so much money..."
As soon as she finished speaking, Zhou Jiahui brought over a large plate of sorghum steamed buns.
"These gentlemen ordered steamed buns, and the proprietress..."
Although she had her suspicions, Zhou Jiahui didn't dare to act on her own because Lin Qingyu didn't speak up.
“These gentlemen are all from my hometown. Tell the kitchen to cook a few of their signature dishes, put it on my tab, and serve them to them.”
Then he picked up the steamed buns on the table and gave them to Zhou Jiahui.
"Bring another steamer of meat buns, put it on my tab."
Upon receiving the order, Zhou Jiahui dashed off to the kitchen.
Zhang Lin wanted to decline, but then someone's stomach rumbled, and the words he was about to say were swallowed back down.
Lin Qingyu pulled up a stool and sat down next to him, just then Zhao Xiaobao came out.
Zhao Xiaobao sat down next to him, not saying a word, not bothering anyone, and just sitting there.
Zhao Xiaobao is currently preparing some medicinal cuisine in the kitchen, and Lin Qingyu plans to sell some to try it out.
Seeing that none of the fellow villagers who had come with him dared to speak, Zhang Lin took the initiative to try and get closer to Lin Qingyu.
"Little sister, you don't know, things are getting worse and worse in our brigade. A lot of people don't want to work at home anymore."
Lin Qingyu didn't respond, only saying perfunctorily, "Is that so? Life is indeed not very good."
“Look, several people from our village have gone to the county. I heard they all went to the factory that Gu Shi used to run.”
As Zhang Lin spoke, he kept watching Lin Qingyu's expression, because no one had ever mentioned that Gu Shi owned a factory in the county.
Lin Qingyu suddenly smiled and said, "It's not really his business. He's just a partner with someone else, but he's the one who put in the most effort."
"I don't know who spread the rumor, but our Gu Shi is not that powerful!"
Seeing that she didn't deny it, Zhang Lin continued.
"And another thing, they said they went to the restaurant you took over in the county town, but they don't want us there!"
The people around couldn't hold back any longer and spoke up together.
"That's right, that's right! We're all from the same village, how can this be!"
"You're out here to work, shouldn't you help out a bit!"
"We can't forget our roots just because we've become successful!"
Lin Qingyu's expression was not good. How did the villagers know about her opening a factory and a restaurant?
