Chapter 56 Going to the Police Station Again

Five thousand yuan is something a rural family might not earn in ten years.

But now that Ye Beiping is willing to buy a house in the city for her, what more could Su Xinyi possibly want?

Even if she couldn't come up with the money in half a month, she felt that a man like Ye Beiping was a good match, and being able to farm and weave in the countryside was a decent life.

Even though Su Xinyi had this idea, she never expected that Ye Beiping would actually fulfill his promise about the airplane, but it was a long, long time later that she really owned her own airplane.

"Xinyi." Ye Beiping hugged Su Xinyi tighter, gently stroking her smooth hair at the back of her head, and lightly pressed his lips to the top of her head: "I will slowly prove with my actions that my love for you is serious, and I hope you can wait patiently, wait for the birth of our baby, and wait for all the promises I make to you to be fulfilled."

"Um."

Upon hearing this, Su Xinyi felt a shiver run through her body and could only nod vigorously.

This damn sense of security was just too good for her.

During the two years I spent in the countryside, what I lacked most was this sense of security. Perhaps it was this sense of security that led me to choose the man in front of me, to trust him, to give myself to him, and to fall deeply in love with him.

Su Xinyi had given herself a reason and an excuse.

The two embraced in the field for a long time, completely unaware that a figure was standing under the shade of a tree in the distance, watching this scene from afar. Upon closer inspection, it could be seen that the figure's hands were clenched into fists, and the veins on the back of the hands were bulging.

Fearing that Su Xinyi would be exposed to the scorching sun, Ye Beiping squatted down and carried her steadily towards home.

At first, Su Xinyi was quite shy. Her face turned red as she buried her face in Ye Beiping's back, feeling a sense of satisfaction and security.

During dinner, Min Yuehua, Tao Qiuyan, and Ye Xiaoxin all noticed that Ye Beiping and Su Xinyi were acting differently than before.

Not only did they pass food to each other, but Ye Beiping's mouth was always smirking as he ate, and rice spilled out as he ate.

Finally, Min Yuehua couldn't stand it anymore. Seeing that they had almost finished eating, she pulled Su Xinyi back to the room. She had to separate the two of them. If this continued, not only would they not get the five thousand yuan, but her daughter would also be swindled away.

Ye Beiping just pursed his lips, but still told his mother and sister, "Mom, sister, don't be so mean to Xinyi. She hasn't done anything wrong. Besides, she's pregnant now. If she's in a bad mood, the child she gives birth to will only be angry every day."

"Hmph." Ye Xiaoxin snorted coldly and rolled her eyes at Ye Beiping.

Tao Qiuyan, however, upon hearing that it would affect the child, asked with some skepticism, "Is that so?"

When the topic of children comes up, her thoughts immediately change. Her son is important, but her grandchildren are even more important.

After being reminded like this, I realized that I might have been treating Su Xinyi a little badly.

"Yes," Ye Beiping replied affirmatively.

Unexpectedly, Tao Qiuyan nodded: "I understand, don't worry, it won't happen again."

Finally, she muttered something under her breath while eating.

"No wonder, I was often in a bad mood when I was pregnant with your sister, which made your sister's temper worse now."

"Mom." Ye Xiaoxin was almost crying from anger.

We were just talking about Su Xinyi, how did it turn into her being dragged into this?

What's going on here?

Ye Beiping almost choked on his rice with laughter.

Originally, she just wanted her mother and sister to be less cold towards Su Xinyi, but then she remembered the knowledge about infant care she had gained in her previous life.

Some believe that prenatal education is necessary for children, and that if the mother enjoys listening to music, her child will have musical talent.

If a mother is always angry, her child will be very irritable, etc.

Unexpectedly, Tao Qiuyan directly identified Ye Xiaoxin as the person in question.

The mother and her two children outside were enjoying themselves, and were amused by Tao Qiuyan's words.

However, the atmosphere inside the room was tense, with Min Yuehua and her daughter Su Xinyi on the verge of conflict.

Min Yuehua kept muttering, "Xinyi, don't be fooled by this family. They're feeding you delicious food every day now, but if your mother weren't here, do you think they would give you such a feast?"

Upon hearing this, Su Xinyi stared directly at Min Yuehua. Although she appeared delicate, her aura was in no way inferior.

"Mom, can you stop assuming everyone else is bad? It's one thing for you to make things difficult for Ye Beiping, but now that Sister Xiaoxin and Auntie are bringing out good food and drinks for her every day, you're saying they have ulterior motives. Don't you think there are any kind people in the countryside?"

Annoyed by the rebuttal, Min Yuehua pointed at Su Xinyi, then suddenly pointed at the other woman's stomach and said:

"The good food and drinks aren't for us. You're pregnant now, so they're all for the baby. You're carrying their child, so of course they'll treat you to the best of everything."

Hearing these words, Su Xinyi almost laughed in anger.

Unable to argue with her mother, she could only turn away, pouting and sulking.

Seeing this, Min Yuehua felt that Su Xinyi would definitely not be able to refute her, and that what she said must make sense, so her arrogance instantly rose.

“Xinyi, I’ve been through this before, so you should listen to me. Let’s get rid of this baby and go back to the city, okay? I went through so much trouble to get the city residency permit, I just don’t want you to suffer for even a day longer.”

Seeing that Su Xinyi remained unmoved, Min Yuehua said with some guilt, "I know you were unwilling to come to the countryside in the first place, but your brother is our family's only son. If you don't come, it's his choice to come. As his older sister, can't you be more considerate of your brother and mother?"
