Su Jianguo said in a deep voice.
"This isn't just one or two wild boars, it's probably a whole herd."
Wu Ermai nervously rubbed his hands together.
"What should we do then? Should I bang the basin a few more times tonight?"
Su Jianguo shook his head.
"Scaring won't work; we need a complete solution."
He looked around, his gaze settling on the villagers harvesting crops below the mountain.
"I'll go talk to the old Party Secretary. The wild boars aren't just damaging our greenhouses; they're harming everyone's crops in the village."
As he spoke, Su Jianguo prepared to descend the mountain.
"Brother Jianguo, let me go down the mountain with you!"
Wu Er was somewhat worried about Su Jianguo.
He lifted his foot to follow Su Jianguo out, but suddenly stopped and looked back at the four greenhouses.
Su Jianguo had already pushed his bicycle to the bend in the mountain road when he heard the sound and turned around. He saw Wu Ermaitai standing there, his face full of contradictions.
"What's wrong, Second Brother?"
Su Jianguo propped up his bicycle and walked back to Wu Ermaitai's side.
Wu Er scratched his matted hair and lowered his voice.
"What if the wild boars come if I leave? Those two beasts were really fierce last night; they almost tore the plastic sheeting off shed number three..."
As he spoke, he pointed to a fresh claw mark on the side of the greenhouse, where the plastic film had been torn open with a hole more than 20 centimeters long.
"You're right, the greenhouses can't be left unattended."
Su Jianguo patted Wu Ermaitai on the shoulder.
"You stay here, I'll go find the old Party Secretary. If there's any noise, bang on the iron basin; people down the mountain can hear it."
Wu Er nodded vigorously, turned around and ran back to the small hut next to the greenhouse. A moment later, he came out with a rusty iron basin and a wooden stick.
