Chapter 147 Taking a bath in the yard in the middle of the night?

As he spoke, he stood up and took a notebook from the bookshelf.

"Here, this is the market price list for my age group. I specifically marked the section on bean products; take a look."

Su Yufen took the notebook, opened the first page and saw dense numbers and records, the handwriting neat and strong.

She suddenly realized that her father was far more open-minded than she had imagined.

"Oh, right."

Su Jianguo suddenly remembered something.

"If you really intend to open a tofu shop, you'll need to get a license from the local industrial and commercial bureau first. I know Old Li at the Xicheng branch; I'll take you to meet him tomorrow."

Su Yufen's eyes welled up with tears, and her voice choked with emotion.

"Dad...you're so kind."

Su Jianguo waved his hand, his face unusually gentle.

"Silly girl, you're my daughter. Who else would I support if not you?"

He paused.

"However, doing business is not easy; you must be prepared to endure hardship."

"I'm not afraid of hardship!"

Su Yufen straightened her back and her voice became firm.

At that moment, she almost forgot what she was going to say about her third brother, completely overwhelmed by her father's enthusiasm.

The father and daughter then discussed the preparations for the tofu shop in detail, and Su Jianguo even drew a simple diagram of the equipment layout.

Before we knew it, it was almost midnight.

"It's getting late, go to sleep."

Su Jianguo put away the blueprints.

"I'll take you to see the venue tomorrow."

Su Yufen nodded, but as she stood up, she suddenly remembered something and hesitated for a moment.

"Dad... that... third brother, he..."

"What happened to Mingfu?"

Su Jianguo looked up at her.

Su Yufen swallowed her words back.

Seeing her father's expectant eyes, she ultimately couldn't bring herself to tell him the news that might enrage him.

"N-nothing... I just wanted to say that my third brother has been studying very hard lately."

Su Jianguo nodded in satisfaction.

"That's good. Of all you siblings, he's the most successful in your studies."

Su Yufen forced a smile, turned and left the room.

The moment she closed the door, she breathed a sigh of relief, but her heart was filled with mixed emotions.

The moonlight shone like water in the courtyard. Su Yufen stood under the eaves, clutching the money and notebook her father had given her.

She was both delighted to have her father's support and guilty for hiding the truth from her younger brother.

Two conflicting emotions made her feel a tightness in her chest.

She looked towards her third brother's room; the light was still on in the window.

Through the thin curtains, you could see Su Mingfu's figure pressed against the window, gazing longingly at the neighboring yard.

Su Yufen sighed silently, turned around and went back to her room.

As night deepened, the night in Beijing was exceptionally quiet.

Xiaomei stood in her own yard and looked up at the sky.

The moon has climbed high in the sky; it's probably close to eleven o'clock.

She took a deep breath, turned around, and brought out a large wooden basin from the kitchen, the hot water in the basin steaming.

She specifically tested the water temperature.

The temperature is just right, allowing her to take a comfortable shower without catching a cold from being too cold.

"Mom, I'm going out."

Xiaomei spoke softly into the room.

"Yes, try to move naturally."

Grandma Zhou's voice came from the inner room, carrying a hint of eager excitement.

"Remember, don't make it too obvious; make him feel like it was a chance discovery."

Xiaomei pursed her lips and didn't answer.

She was absolutely confident in her charm; dealing with a naive young man who had never seen the world was a piece of cake for her.

The wooden tub was placed in the center of the courtyard, where the moonlight shone down, making her figure exceptionally clear.

Xiaomei deliberately chose this spot, which offered a clear view from the window of the neighboring courtyard.

She slowly and deliberately untied her hair, and her long, black hair cascaded down like a waterfall, gleaming softly in the moonlight.

"Splash..."

She deliberately splashed the water loudly to make sure she would get attention.

In the neighboring courtyard, Su Mingfu was tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep.

Ever since he saw Xiaomei that afternoon, her image had been lingering in his mind.

Those watery eyes, the slightly upturned corners, and the dimples that appear and disappear when she speaks...

He turned over, trying to banish these alluring thoughts.

Suddenly, the sound of water came from next door, which was particularly clear in the quiet night.

Su Mingfu sat up abruptly and listened intently.

"Splash."

Another sound, accompanied by a soft humming.

Su Mingfu's heart suddenly raced.

He tiptoed out of bed, not even bothering to put on his shoes, and quietly walked barefoot to the window.

Through the window, he saw a scene that made his blood boil.

Under the moonlight, Xiaomei was standing beside the wooden basin, having taken off her outer clothes and wearing only a close-fitting red bodice.

The bodice was made of silk, and under the moonlight it outlined her graceful curves.

She had her back to him, her slender waist and rounded hips forming a perfect curve, and her long neck was dazzlingly white in the moonlight.

Su Mingfu's breathing became rapid, and his throat tightened.

He swallowed hard, his eyes fixed on the alluring figure.

Xiaomei seemed completely unaware that someone was watching her.

She gracefully raised her arm and untied the ribbons of her bodice.

The red silk slowly slid down, revealing her snow-white back.

Her skin shimmered like pearls in the moonlight, and the lines of her shoulder blades were as beautiful as a work of art.

Su Mingfu felt a surge of heat rush to his head, and he involuntarily leaned forward, wanting to see more clearly.

The windowsill was digging into his chest and causing a sharp pain, but he was completely unaware of it.
