Chapter 156 Recruiting Three Female Employees

"That's a great idea!"

Wang Xiulan agreed.

"I've been so busy collecting money these past few days, sometimes there are so many people, I'm completely overwhelmed."

"Hiring is a good thing, but where can we find reliable people?"

Su Jianjun raised a question.

Su Jianguo smiled slightly.

"The subdistrict office. The government is now encouraging self-employment, and the subdistrict office has specialized employment services; they definitely have suitable candidates."

Just then, a faint but clear voice rang out.

"That, I can do that too."

The whole family turned around in unison, looking at Su Yuzhen in surprise as she suddenly spoke.

"What did you say?"

Su Jianguo doubted that he had heard correctly.

Su Yuzhen took a deep breath.

"I said I could work in the store."

Su Jianguo burst out laughing.

"Oh dear, our young lady is going to work? Has the sun risen in the west?"

Su Yuzhen's face turned red instantly, but she still spoke earnestly.

"I'm really capable. I went to high school, I can do accounts, and I can serve customers. Anyway, I have nothing else to do right now..."

Upon hearing this, Su Jianguo began to look his youngest daughter up and down, his brows furrowing even more deeply.

His youngest daughter has never given him a moment's peace.

This sudden urge to work really left Su Jianguo somewhat bewildered.

Just then, Su Yufen suddenly spoke up.

"Father, let Yuzhen try."

Su Jianguo looked at his eldest daughter in surprise.

"Yufen, you..."

"I can bring Da Mao and Er Mao to the store."

Su Yufen thought for a moment and continued.

"After I finish making tofu during the day, I can go to the shop to help out. With me there to look after Yuzhen, nothing serious will happen."

Su Jianguo stroked the stubble on his chin, lost in thought.

It's not good to keep my youngest daughter at home all this time, so I might as well let her give it a try.

Finally, Su Jianguo let out a long breath.

"Okay."

He looked at his youngest daughter with a stern gaze.

"However, I have conditions."

Su Yuzhen sat up straight nervously.

"First of all, this is a serious job, not something to joke around with. You must be at the store on time every day; lateness and early departures are not permitted."

Su Yuzhen nodded repeatedly.

"Secondly, you must learn diligently how to greet guests and how to handle accounts. You must learn all of this within a month."

I will definitely study hard!

Su Yuzhen's voice was very excited.

Su Jianguo held up three fingers.

"Third, there's a one-month probationary period. If you do well, you'll get ten yuan a month. If you don't..."

He paused meaningfully.

"Just stay home and don't cause me any trouble."

"Ten yuan?"

Su Yuzhen blurted it out, then realized her mistake and quickly shut her mouth.

She did the math in her head: a sales clerk at a state-run store earns eighteen yuan a month.

Su Jianguo's face immediately darkened.

"What, you think it's not enough? Do you know how many people can't find jobs these days?"

Su Yufen quickly tried to smooth things over.

"Dad, Yuzhen didn't mean it that way. Ten yuan is fine, it's just the beginning."

Su Yuzhen lowered her head, her voice barely audible.

"I understand, Father."

Su Jianguo nodded in satisfaction and turned to his eldest daughter.

"Yufen, starting tomorrow, you can focus on making tofu. You don't need to go to the shop anymore; just have someone deliver the tofu. You can stay home and look after the children during the day."

"Huh? Dad?"

Su Yufen was somewhat shocked.

Su Jianguo waved his hand dismissively.

"After all, Da Mao and Er Mao are still young, it's just a matter of hiring one more person."

Knowing that her father was worried about her, Su Yufen's eyes welled up with tears.

That was the decision, and everyone continued eating.

After finishing the meal.

Su Jianguo saw Su Jianjun off.

He put on his coat, pushed his bicycle, and went out the door.

He was going to the neighborhood office to solve the staffing problem for the shop.

The neighborhood office wasn't far away, and Su Jianguo arrived in no time by bicycle.

It was already afternoon, but there were still quite a few people queuing up in front of the neighborhood office to handle their business.

Su Jianguo didn't queue; he went straight in and found the office he was looking for in each one.

He knocked on the door that had a sign that read "Employment Services".

"Please come in."

A woman's voice came from inside.

Pushing open the door, I saw a female cadre in her early thirties organizing documents.

She looked up and saw Su Jianguo, and asked with a smile.

"Comrade, is there anything I can help you with?"

"Hello, I'm the owner of 'Su's Vegetable Shop' at Dongdan Market. My surname is Su."

Su Jianguo introduced himself.

"The shop is too busy to handle the workload, so I'd like to hire a few employees. I'd like to ask if the neighborhood committee can help me with recommendations."

Upon hearing this, the female cadre immediately stood up enthusiastically.

"Mr. Su, please have a seat! The government is strongly supporting the development of the individual economy, and since you can provide employment opportunities, we will certainly cooperate fully."

She poured Su Jianguo a glass of hot water, then took out a stack of documents from the filing cabinet.

"These are the files of unemployed youth in our jurisdiction. Please take a look and see if there are any suitable candidates."

Su Jianguo carefully reviewed these files.

Most of them are young people around twenty years old, some of whom graduated from high school but failed to get into university, and others are former educated youth who returned to the city from the countryside.

He paid special attention to those whose evaluations included phrases like "hard-working" and "dedicated."

"What do you think of this young lady named Wang Li?"

The female cadre pointed to a file and said.

"I graduated from high school and have been unemployed at home for half a year, but I actively participate in every voluntary labor activity organized by the neighborhood committee."
