Chapter 43 The Wang Family's Last Resort

"Let me tell you, the whole city knows what kind of person you are, Liu Meijuan! Pregnant with a bastard's child and still wanting someone to take the fall? Dream on!"

Liu Meijuan's face turned ferocious, and she suddenly grabbed the water glass from the bedside table, intending to splash it on Su Mingde's face.

Su Jianguo reacted quickly and grabbed her wrist.

"girl."

Su Jianguo's voice was low and dangerous.

"This is a hospital, there are police everywhere. You still want to go in and keep your Wang Zhenguo company?"

Liu Meijuan abruptly shook off Su Jianguo's hand and took two steps back.

Just then, Su Mingde spoke up.

"You just mentioned gifts. What a coincidence, I was just about to settle this score with you. All the gifts you've given me over the years, all the money you've spent, was because you wanted to marry me. Now, you can give them back to me."

As he spoke, Su Mingde pulled a small notebook from under his pillow and opened it to a page.

"Last year for your birthday, I gave you a gold necklace weighing 15 grams. Gold was priced at 20 yuan per gram then, totaling 300 yuan. For Valentine's Day, you gave me an imported watch for 150 yuan. Last month, you said you wanted to buy a new dress and took 200 yuan from me..."

Liu Meijuan's eyes widened in disbelief; she clearly hadn't expected Su Mingde to hold such a grudge.

"What...what do you mean? You can take back something you gave away as a gift?"

"Of course."

Su Mingde closed the notebook.

"Especially items given to scammers."

"You're talking nonsense!"

Liu Meijuan completely dropped her pretense.

"You gave those away voluntarily! Now you want them back? No way!"

Su Mingde said calmly.

"Then we'll see you in court. Fraud, with this amount of money, will get you three to five years in prison. Perfect, I'll keep Wang Zhenguo company."

Liu Meijuan's face turned deathly pale instantly; she clearly hadn't expected the usually timid Su Mingde to be so forceful.

Her lips trembled, and suddenly her expression changed to one of impending tears.

"Mingde...we were at least in love..."

"like?"

Su Mingde sneered.

"What do you, Liu Meijuan, know about love? You only love money, power, and men who can bring you benefits!"

Liu Meijuan trembled at these words, a flicker of panic crossing her eyes, but it was quickly replaced by anger.

"Fine! Su Mingde, you've got guts! But remember this: if you reject me today, even if you beg me on your knees, I won't give you another glance! I'll never speak to you again for the rest of my life!"

She turned to leave, but Su Mingde's next words froze her in place.

"etc."

Su Mingde's voice suddenly became unusually calm.

"What did you just say? You won't even look at me again? You'll never talk to me again for the rest of your life?"

Liu Meijuan, thinking her threat had worked, turned away smugly.

"What? You've changed your mind? It's not too late to sign the letter of understanding..."

She didn't finish her sentence.

Because Su Mingde suddenly used all his strength to struggle to stand up from the hospital bed.

His movements aggravated his wounds, causing him to break out in a cold sweat, but his eyes were more determined than ever before.

"Liu Meijuan."

He walked towards her step by step.

"Do you know what? These are the most beautiful words I've ever heard in my life."

Under Liu Meijuan's astonished gaze, Su Mingde raised his hand and used all his strength.

"Smack!"

A slap echoed in the hospital room.

Su Mingde slapped Liu Meijuan's carefully maintained left cheek hard.

"This blow was for my blindness."

Su Mingde's voice sounded like it was being squeezed out from between his teeth.

"For the past few years, I've followed you around like a dog, wagging my tail, and you wouldn't even let me touch you, yet you're pregnant with another man's bastard child!"

Liu Meijuan staggered backward as she was hit, her carefully styled curly hair falling loose.

She covered her rapidly swelling cheek, staring at the man in front of her in shock.

She had never seen Su Mingde like this before.

The timid man who used to always fawn over her was now like a wild beast that had been provoked.

"Mingde, are you crazy?"

Liu Meijuan's voice became shrill and distorted.

She instinctively backed towards the door, but Su Mingde grabbed her wrist.

"Why are you running? Didn't you come here to beg me to sign a letter of understanding?"

Su Mingde sneered and suddenly pulled her in front of him.

He raised his hand.

"Smack!"

The second slap was even harder than the first. Su Mingde's palm struck Liu Meijuan's right cheek horizontally, causing her head to snap to one side and her earring to fly off and hit the wall.

Blood spilled from the corner of her mouth and dripped onto the snow-white hospital sheets.

"This blow was for my parents."

Su Mingde's voice trembled, and his Adam's apple bobbed up and down.

"My parents raised me, and I didn't spend a single penny on them. All the money I earned went to you."

Liu Meijuan panicked completely. She struggled to break free, but found that Su Mingde was incredibly strong.

Her fingernails scratched several bloody marks on Su Mingde's arm, but it had no effect whatsoever.

"Let me go! You're insane!"

Liu Meijuan screamed hysterically.

Su Mingde ignored her and grabbed Liu Meijuan's hair, forcing her to look up.

He raised his arm one last time.

"Smack!"

The third slap whistled through the air as Su Mingde used all his strength.

Liu Meijuan was knocked flying and then crashed to the ground.

"I don't know why, I just really wanted to hit you."

Su Mingde's voice suddenly calmed down, like the sea after a storm.

"Now, get out of my life, taking that bastard in your belly."
