"Second Brother."
Su Jianguo called out softly.
The figure in the wheelchair jolted, then desperately tried to turn around.
This movement clearly aggravated the wound.
Wu Er gasped sharply, but his expression was one of wild joy.
"Brother Jianguo!"
He shouted excitedly.
Old Zhou quickly pressed down on his shoulder.
"Don't worry, don't worry, I'll turn it around for you."
The wheelchair slowly turned around, and Wu Ermai saw that it was Su Jianguo, and smiled very brightly.
"Brother Jianguo! I knew you'd come to see me today!"
He said excitedly, gripping the armrests of the wheelchair with both hands, his upper body leaning forward as if he were about to stand up at any moment.
Su Jianguo quickly took two steps forward and grabbed his shoulder.
"Don't move! Are you making the wound reopen?"
Wu Er immediately became obedient.
"Comrade Su has arrived."
Old Zhou greeted him with a smile.
"The patient is in exceptionally good spirits today and kept saying he was waiting for you to come."
Su Jianguo nodded gratefully.
"Thank you for your help, Master Zhou."
"Of course."
Old Zhou waved his hand.
"You guys chat, I'll go get some hot water."
After Lao Zhou walked away, Su Jianguo pulled up a chair and sat opposite Wu Ermaitai.
Looking at it calmly, the injuries on Wu Er's face were still so clear.
"Does it still hurt?"
Su Jianguo pointed to the scars and asked Wu Er in a sarcastic tone.
Wu Er shook his head, then nodded, and finally smiled sheepishly.
"It hurts a little... but seeing Brother Jianguo makes it stop hurting."
This silly answer made Su Jianguo laugh.
He quickly bent down and rummaged through the fruit bag.
"I brought you bananas and apples..."
"Brother Jianguo."
Wu Er interrupted him suddenly, his voice full of grievance.
"I...I'm so sorry..."
Su Jianguo was stunned.
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
"sunglasses..."
Wu Er lowered his head, his fingers twisting together.
"The sunglasses you gave me... I couldn't protect them... they trampled them to pieces..."
His voice grew softer and softer.
Tears began to flow uncontrollably.
Su Jianguo immediately felt a pang of emotion. He took a deep breath and pulled out the velvet box from his inner pocket.
"Look what this is."
He gently handed the box to Wu Ermaitai.
Wu Er looked up and saw the exquisite box.
He took it with a puzzled look, his fingers trembling slightly as he opened it.
"ah!"
He let out a short cry of surprise, as if he had been burned, and almost threw the box away.
When he saw what was inside, he froze, only his lips trembling slightly.
"This...this..."
He couldn't speak a complete sentence; he just kept staring at the brand-new round-framed sunglasses.
Su Jianguo took out sunglasses and gently placed them on Wu Ermaida's nose.
"Try it and see if it suits you."
Wu Er remained motionless, even holding his breath.
His expression slowly shifted from shock to unbelievable joy, finally settling on an almost pious gratitude.
"The same..."
He spoke softly, his fingers carefully touching the frame of his glasses.
"Exactly the same as before..."
Su Jianguo smiled.
Do you like it?
Wu Er nodded vigorously, then suddenly seemed to remember something and asked nervously.
"Is it expensive...is it expensive, Brother Jianguo?"
"It's not expensive."
Su Jianguo told a white lie.
"It's on sale now, only three yuan."
Wu Ermaitai finally relaxed, and a bright smile appeared on his face.
He turned his head left and right, as if adjusting to the feeling of the sunglasses, and then suddenly grabbed Su Jianguo's hand.
"Brother Jianguo, once I'm better, I'll help you with the chores! I'm strong, I can do any kind of work!"
He spoke urgently, his eyes filled with determination.
"I don't want wages, just meals!"
Su Jianguo smiled.
"Perfect timing, I have something to tell you."
He briefly described his greenhouse plan, and Wu Ermai listened with wide eyes, his mouth eventually forming an "O" shape.
"Growing summer vegetables in winter?"
He asked in surprise.
"Then...wouldn't that make you a god?"
"It's not a deity, it's science."
Su Jianguo patiently explained.
"Using plastic sheeting to build a shed creates a warm environment inside, allowing the vegetables to grow."
Wu Er nodded, seemingly understanding, but his excitement remained undiminished.
"Then I'll watch the shed for Brother Jianguo! I'm fine with staying up all night!"
"There's no need to stay up all night."
Su Jianguo smiled and patted him on the shoulder.
"Once you're fully recovered, we'll work together. I've calculated it; let's start with two acres to try it out..."
"How much is two mu?"
Wu Er asked, tilting his head in a disgusting manner.
Su Jianguo thought for a moment and then gestured.
"It's about... as long as the section of riverbank where we used to catch fish when we were kids, and as for its width..."
"I know, I know!"
Wu Ermaitai suddenly interrupted excitedly.
"It's the section with the big willow tree! There's also a big rock under the tree; we often sat on it and ate roasted grasshoppers!"
Su Jianguo was stunned. He himself couldn't remember the details of such a long time ago, but this fool remembered even that stone.
"Yes, that's it."
He said softly.
Wu Er was lost in his memories, a dreamy smile on his face.
