"Mingqiang? What happened to you...?"
Is Dad home?
Su Mingqiang interrupted his mother, his eyes constantly glancing towards the main room.
"Your father went out early this morning, saying he was going to the hospital to see Brother Wu."
Wang Xiulan wiped her hands.
Upon hearing that his father was not there, Su Mingqiang immediately straightened his back, his timidity vanished, and he suddenly became assertive.
He waved his hand to interrupt his mother.
"No rush, Mother. Where's Yuzhen? Tell her to get me a glass of water."
Su Yuzhen, hiding behind the window, rolled her eyes.
She was all too familiar with her older brother's behavior.
He was timid and hesitant in front of his father, but as soon as his father was away, he immediately put on airs as the eldest son.
"Yuzhen said she has a headache and is resting inside."
Wang Xiulan said with difficulty.
"How about Mom pours it for you?"
"Headache?"
Su Mingqiang snorted.
"How can someone so young have a headache? They're spoiled!"
He raised his voice and shouted.
"Su Yuzhen! Did you hear me? Go get your older brother some water!"
Su Yuzhen gritted her teeth, reluctantly pushed open the door, and went out.
The eldest brother stood in the courtyard with his hands behind his back and his chin held high, looking just like a landlord from the old society.
"I have a headache."
Su Yuzhen stood still.
"Even with a headache, I have to keep working!"
Su Mingqiang stared wide-eyed.
"What? Just because Dad's not home, does my word as the eldest brother mean I don't count anymore?"
Su Yufen poked her head out of the kitchen.
"Boss, don't yell at Yuzhen, she really isn't feeling well today."
"And you too!"
Su Mingqiang turned to Su Yufen.
"What are you standing there for? Can't you see I'm back? Go heat up my food right now!"
