Chapter 189 Su Mingqiang angrily slashes Zhang Haiyang

Three hours, 180 minutes, seconds...

Every second will be torture.

Three hours later.

Su Mingqiang received the paternity test report that stated "biological father-son relationship excluded".

He didn't know how he got out of the hospital; he only remembered a buzzing in his ears and a blurry vision.

Before he knew it, he had walked into a small restaurant called "Old Ma's Home-Style Dishes".

There weren't many people in the shop; an old man with a wrinkled face was wiping the table.

"Comrade, what would you like to eat?"

The old man looked up and asked.

"liquor..."

Su Mingqiang said in a hoarse voice.

"The strongest liquor."

The old man sized him up.

"Young man, drinking at midday is bad for your health. How about a bowl of hot noodle soup first?"

"I said I wanted alcohol!"

Su Mingqiang suddenly raised his voice, startling the old man.

He then lowered his head again.

"I'm sorry...I...I..."

The old man sighed and took out a bottle of Erguotou (a type of Chinese liquor) and a cup from under the counter.

"Sit there, I'll cook you a snack to go with your drinks."

Su Mingqiang sat at the table in the corner, his hands trembling as he poured himself a full glass and drank it all in one gulp.

The burning sensation traveled from my throat to my stomach, but it couldn't suppress the chill in my heart.

"Drink slowly, this liquor is strong."

The old man brought over a plate of peanuts and a bowl of smashed cucumber.

"Are you in trouble?"

Su Mingqiang poured himself another glass, and this time he drank it more slowly.

"Uncle... why do people get married?"

The old man sat down opposite him and poured himself a small cup as well.

"Young man, I've run this shop for thirty years and seen far too many heartbroken people. Come on, tell Old Ma what happened?"

Under the influence of alcohol, Su Mingqiang's defenses completely collapsed.

He recounted his experiences over the past year in fits and starts.

How to tell if my wife is acting strangely, how to find that birth certificate, and the results of the recent DNA test...?

"I love her so much... I had a falling out with my family for her... I worked tirelessly from dawn till dusk every day..."

Su Mingqiang downed another glass of wine, and finally, his tears broke free.

"The child...the child isn't mine..."

Old Ma listened quietly, occasionally refilling his glass.

After Su Mingqiang finished speaking, the old man patted him on the shoulder.

"Young man, there's no hurdle in this world that can't be overcome. I was swindled when I was young, and I lost everything! But look at me now, I'm doing just fine, aren't I?"

"no the same..."

Su Mingqiang shook his head, his eyes unfocused.

"I gave her everything... my job, my family... and now I have nothing..."

"nonsense!"

Old Ma suddenly raised his voice.

"You still have yourself! As long as you're alive, there's hope. Come on, finish this drink, and I'll take you home."

"Home?"

Su Mingqiang gave a wry smile.

"Where is home anymore..."

He pushed away Lao Ma's hand, stood up unsteadily, threw down a few crumpled banknotes, and stumbled out of the restaurant.

It was already dark outside, and a light rain had started to fall.

The cold rain hit my face, mingling with my tears.

Su Mingqiang walked aimlessly, clutching the appraisal report tightly in his hand.

"Why...why did you do this to me..."

He roared in the rain, his voice drowned out by the sound of the rain.

Rain dripped down Su Mingqiang's hair.

He stood at his doorstep, soaked to the bone, clutching the paternity test report tightly in his hand.

Alcohol burns in the blood, slowly consuming reason.

He took out his key, his hands trembling so much he could barely insert it into the keyhole.

With a click, the door opened.

Inside the room, Li Jinhua was sitting on the sofa breastfeeding her child, not even looking up when she heard the noise.

"You're back? I thought you'd died out there. Let's talk about a divorce!"

Su Mingqiang stood in the entrance hall, where rainwater had accumulated into a small puddle at his feet.

He stared at Li Jinhua, the woman for whom he was once willing to give up everything, who now seemed so unfamiliar.

"Li Jinhua, I'm asking you a question!"

Su Mingqiang said in a hoarse voice.

What is a child's blood type?

Li Jinhua's hand paused for a moment, but quickly returned to normal.

"What's your blood type? What's wrong with you?"

Stop pretending!

Su Mingqiang slammed the appraisal report onto the coffee table.

The paper was spread out, and the bright red words "Excluding biological father-son relationship" instantly filled Li Jinhua with horror.

Her face turned deathly pale instantly, and the child in her arms seemed to sense the tense atmosphere and began to squirm restlessly.

"You...you secretly went to get it tested?"

Li Jinhua's voice began to tremble.

"What right do you have..."

"On what grounds?"

Su Mingqiang suddenly burst into laughter, his laughter filled with madness.

"Just because I work from dawn till dusk every day, just because I hand over my entire salary to you, just because I fucking trusted you like an idiot!"

He grabbed a fruit knife from the coffee table and pointed the tip at Li Jinhua.

"Tell me, who is that man? Tell me!!"

Li Jinhua screamed and backed away while holding the child.

"Are you crazy! Put the knife down!"

"Am I crazy?"

Su Mingqiang approached step by step, his eyes bloodshot.

"Yes, I've gone mad! You drove me mad! Tell me, who is that bastard!"

The child was so frightened that he cried loudly. Li Jinhua hugged him tightly, tears welling up in her eyes.

"It's...it's Vice Principal Zhang..."

"Zhang Haiyang?"
