He Wenlin didn't want to pay any attention to Yu Xiaoqiao. After all, she was almost twenty years older than Yu Xiaoqiao, and arguing with her over such a small matter would be a waste of her time.
But this little brat just kept going on and on.
He Wenlin looked at her deeply, nodded and said, "Compared to you, I am indeed quite remarkable. At least I have a mobile phone, while you don't, so you can only talk nonsense here."
Yu Xiaoqiao's eyes widened: "You're a newcomer, you..."
"I'm new here, but I'm here to study, not to argue with you, so please don't bother me."
Yu Xiaoqiao felt extremely embarrassed and gritted her teeth, saying, "You just wait!"
"What? You want to play the bullying game with me?"
It's best to keep her away from bullies, otherwise it's hard to say who will bully whom.
"You just wait!" she said again.
The school bell rang again, but He Wenlin ignored her.
The next class is physics. Physics and math are two extremely difficult subjects for He Wenlin, so she needs to be even more attentive.
The last two periods were self-study periods, and He Wenlin did math problems for both periods until she felt like throwing up.
I hate math and physics the most.
Which immortal invented it?
There was an hour and a half break in the afternoon. The school food was terrible, and it was even local cuisine, which made it even harder for He Wenlin, who came from Hunan Province, to swallow.
So He Wenlin simply took a motorcycle taxi home to eat in the afternoon. Anyway, it only takes about half an hour to ride back and forth, so she had plenty of time to get home for dinner.
When I got back to the Caijiang Village fast food restaurant, it was not yet six o'clock, and the restaurant was busy.
Upon seeing He Wenlin's return, the old acquaintances at the Boss Silk Factory joked, "The college student is back."
"You've already made so much money, why are you still studying?"
"That's right, you have to spend money to go to school."
~
The customers who came to pick up their meals started discussing it one by one.
"Reading books will allow you to learn more things, which will be useful in your future business endeavors."
He Wenlin didn't say much to them because there was no need.
She got herself some rice and vegetables and ate quickly, because she had to go to evening self-study later.
Seeing He Wenlin eat two bowls of rice, He's father asked, "Didn't you eat enough for lunch?"
“Yes, the school food is terrible. I ate two steamed buns at the gate for lunch, but I wasn’t full,” He Wenlin said. “I was lucky this afternoon. There was a motorcycle taxi waiting at the school gate, otherwise I wouldn’t have had a way to get back to eat.”
Walking back to eat is too far, I'm too lazy to walk.
Grandma He: "You definitely won't be used to the local food. I'll bring you lunch from now on."
"It's too far, Grandma, don't bother. I just made an appointment with that motorcycle taxi driver. He'll take me home after school from now on."
He's dad is busy making fast food, so he definitely won't have time to pick people up, but he can deliver them. So he calls a motorcycle taxi, which costs only four yuan for two trips a day.
"Big brother, Brother Bo, how's your learning going?"
Xu Haibo, He Wenhua, and Xia Lijuan arrived on the morning of the tenth day of the lunar month. Xia Lijuan is currently working at the Bosi Factory, while He Wenhua and Xu Haibo have been learning to make glutinous rice balls from their father for several days.
"I've already learned how to make rice balls, and I can also make crispy ones, but I'm still not good at fried rice noodles or fried rice, especially fried rice," Xu Haibo said.
He Wenhua: "Me too, I cook fried rice and cook in a wok."
"Practice slowly, you'll get the hang of it after a while," He Wenlin said. "I've inquired, and you can set up a stall at Hengling Vegetable Market. There are also several processing plants there. You can also set up a stall near our school. I can go with you to Hengling Vegetable Market on Saturday to take a look. I don't think you'll lose much money selling breakfast at a stall. The initial investment isn't large, but it's definitely hard work."
Xu Haibo: "Linlin, I'll listen to whatever you say."
After finishing her meal, He Wenlin called her second brother again to ask about today's sales figures.
The second store opened the day before yesterday, and most of the workers from the factory there have returned. The liberal arts college has started classes, and He Wenlin prepared vouchers for Peng Liang to sell, but we don't know the specifics yet.
"We haven't sold many vouchers at the factory. Many people brought local specialties from home, like cured meat and sausages, which they had already cooked in advance. They can just heat them up and eat them after get off work, so they're not buying our vouchers for now," the second brother said. "We've sold more than a dozen vouchers at the College of Arts and Sciences, though."
The second store is not doing well right now because it has no factory orders and is surviving on orders from liberal arts colleges.
The fast food restaurants here aren't doing very well either; they had no business a few days ago. But last year, several factory owners gave out vouchers as New Year's gifts, so they're afraid the vouchers will expire, so they still come here occasionally to use them.
He Wenlin roughly estimated that business would not pick up until March. By then, the local specialties she brought would probably be almost gone, and even if they weren't finished, she would probably try something different.
A little after six o'clock, He's father ate a few bites of food and then drove He Wenlin to school for evening self-study.
The math teacher is on duty tonight.
He Wenlin spent two class periods completing a test paper she had bought herself, and then handed it to her math teacher for grading. There were three major questions that He Wenlin couldn't answer, so she decided to ask him for help.
In fact, teachers welcome students to ask questions. He Wenlin remembers that when she was in school in her previous life, her teachers said countless times that if she encountered anything she didn't understand during evening self-study, she could ask them.
Teachers of all subjects wish they could have evening study sessions as their own.
In her past life, He Wenlin was too embarrassed to ask, but in this life, there's nothing to be embarrassed about.
