Chapter 444 You're so stupid!

"What? Are you blaming me?" He Wenlin's tone was quite cold.

He Ni quickly said, "Nana didn't mean that, Linlin, don't misunderstand, she's not very good at speaking."

“That’s exactly what she meant,” He Wenlin said bluntly. “You blame this and that when your business is bad, but you never reflect on yourself. When the cakes don’t sell, you blame me for not telling you about the competitors. Now that these things aren’t selling, you blame me for not explaining things clearly. How else am I supposed to explain it to you? I told you to stock up on some one-size-fits-all items, but you didn’t listen, did you? I don’t get a share of the money you make, but when you don’t make any money, it’s my fault.”

He Na was left speechless by the rebuttal.

She paused for a moment, then said defiantly, "You're just closer to Shanshan!"

“Shanshan and Linfei listen to me in everything and trust me completely. I decide what goods to buy and how much to buy. Can you do that?” He Wenlin said. “If you lose money in this business, you can blame me. I dare not make decisions for you, let alone give you advice. I’m afraid you’ll make me lose money.”

Hearing this, He Ni looked at He Wenlin and her younger sister He Na in surprise.

"Linlin, is there some misunderstanding?" He Ni asked.

"Whether it's a misunderstanding or not, your sister and I know the truth."

He Wenlin was too lazy to argue with her and turned around to squeeze into the stall of her second brother next door.

He Ni looked rather grim and asked He Na, "What's going on between you and Linlin? You didn't sell all your cakes, is that your fault?"

"I don't blame her."

"Then why did she say that? Did she wrong you?"

"Last time I just... I just said it casually, I didn't mean to blame her. She misunderstood."

What did you say?

“I was selling cakes that day, and one of her employees was also setting up a stall there, which prevented me from selling all my cakes. I thought she knew her employee was setting up a stall there but didn’t tell me, so I called her and asked her why she didn’t tell me. It was such a small thing, and I didn’t think much of it at the time, but I did think she might be holding a grudge.”

He Na found He Wenlin's behavior utterly ridiculous and thought she was petty.

He Na suddenly realized and said, "Now that I think about it, the reason she refused to lend me money when I wanted to take over the night market stall must be because of this!"

She's so vengeful! I asked her to help with everything, but she didn't do a single thing. I asked her to call her stall employee and tell him to leave, but she refused.

She wouldn't agree to stop selling cakes to her, and now she knows my jeans aren't selling well, but she doesn't stop me. She's so petty!

"You're telling her not to sell to her employees?" He Ni was stunned, looking at He Na incredulously. "Are you alright? Are you out of your mind? They're running a business, and you're telling her not to sell? What are you thinking?"

He Na looked surprised: "Did I do something wrong? We've been childhood friends, we grew up together, shouldn't she side with me?"

"She's on your side, but not like that! Has she ever helped you? When you wanted to start a business, did she help you?"

“She didn’t help me at all! She doesn’t have faith in me. She keeps telling me to save more money and not to spend it recklessly, because I’ll need money for my business in the future. She also said she would support me in the future, but when I wanted to take over the night market stall, she refused to lend me money. Now I have another cake seller, and the business is booming. She wants me to sell cakes at the vegetable market. The only thing she helped me with was taking me to Sijiqing Market to get this pile of goods in front of me.”

He Ni rolled her eyes at her sister: "The fact that she doesn't think highly of you proves that her judgment is really correct; you really haven't accomplished anything."

He Na stomped her foot angrily: "Who do you think you are, sister?"

“I’m telling you the truth,” He Ni said. “You’re incredibly stupid. Would a stranger tell you to save more money? It’s perfectly normal for her to lend you money. You only have a few days of work experience. And what about buying goods? She even gave you advice, telling you to buy one-size-fits-all items. And what did you do? You didn’t listen to her, bought all this stuff, and now you’re blaming her. If I were her, I would cut ties with you too!”

He Ni is 21 years old after all. She is studying at a university in the capital. After starting school, she began to do part-time jobs and worked during winter and summer vacations to earn some living expenses. Therefore, she is more knowledgeable than He Na in all aspects.

He Ni really thought her sister was incredibly stupid. Such a capable friend, with whom she had grown up, yet she couldn't maintain the relationship and made it so strained!

What else could it be but stupidity?

He Ni suddenly remembered something and asked He Na, "Why don't you partner with them? Is it really because you want to go it alone? Or has something else happened?"

He Na didn't hide anything from her sister. She told He Ni everything He Shan had said to her, what He Wenlin had said to her, how He Wenlin had suggested leaving so they could go it alone, and how He Na herself had taken the initiative to go it alone.

After saying that, He Na looked enviously at Lin Fei and He Wenjun's stall next to her, thinking to herself how wonderful it would be if they were partners.

After a little thought, He Ni understood the reason: He Wenlin disliked He Na for being a troublemaker and didn't want to partner with her!

"You're so stupid!" He Ni couldn't help but yell again.

He Na asked angrily, "Why did you scold me?"

"Who else should I scold if not you? Do you know why Linlin quit and why she suggested you go it alone?"

"Why?"

He Na hadn't really thought about this issue. As soon as she heard that she could go it alone, she immediately thought about sourcing the goods herself and then setting up a stall with He Ni, because if they were partners, He Ni wouldn't be able to participate.

“Because she knows you’re a shrewd operator! You said you have no experience and you didn’t want her to make the decisions about purchasing goods, so how could she take you under her wing?” He Ni sighed. “No wonder she’s even nicer to Shan Shan. Shan Shan hasn’t even come back yet and doesn’t care about anything. She just trusts Lin Lin.”

At this point, He Ni looked at He Wenjun's stall with envy, feeling a mix of emotions as she saw how booming their business was.

...

He Wenlin had no idea what the He sisters said.

She's now squeezed into the stall to help sell things.

They closed up shop around 5 p.m., and Mr. He came to pick them up in his car.

The tools for setting up the stall were the same as last year, placed at Luo Yumei's neighbor's house. Lin Fei gave the stall owner a pack of red bean cigarettes worth two yuan every afternoon, since they couldn't just be left there for nothing.

On the way back, everyone was finally able to talk for a while.

He Wenlin asked them, "How's your business?"

He Wenjun said, "Business is not bad, but on the first day, I don't know who received a counterfeit 200 yuan bill."

“It’s Chinese New Year, there are a lot of people, and some people will definitely try to take advantage of the situation. Learn from this experience and be more careful next time,” He Wenlin said. “How much stock do you have left?”

"There's still more than half left," Lin Fei said. "It was just bad luck. It rained the first two days after we got back, so we couldn't set up our stall. Linlin, why don't you come and sell some too? Business will definitely be better with you here, and we can sell out faster."

"Tomorrow I'll ask my older brother to go to Wufeng Town to set up a stall and try to sell this batch of goods as soon as possible."

Wufeng Town is a large town, but it's in the opposite direction; it only takes about half an hour to drive there from He Wenlin's house.

If it weren't for the fact that they still had a lot left, He Wenlin wouldn't have planned to sell any goods this year.
