Chapter 447 Send someone to investigate

He Wenlin immediately called Jin Haichao.

"Happy New Year, Mr. He," came Jin Haichao's lazy voice from the phone.

“Happy New Year, Attorney Jin, I need your help,” He Wenlin said. “Help me investigate someone…”

He Wenlin told Jin Haichao the personal information she knew about Tan Mingyuan. He was also in Dongguan, so they could investigate.

Tan Mingyuan and Hu Meiling's wedding date is set for the ninth day of next month, which is about forty days away.

This is a good time to start the investigation. If we don't find anything, there's nothing we can do.

After dinner, He Ni and He Na came to find He Wenlin.

"Linlin, Happy New Year!" He Ni said with a smile. "Do you like these gloves and scarf?"

"You're too kind. You should keep the money to make more money."

"It's nothing precious, just keep it," He Ni said. "Actually, I need your help with something, and I'd feel bad asking if you wouldn't accept it."

"Then I definitely can't accept it. What if I can't help at all?"

In fact, He Wenlin had already guessed what kind of help they wanted her to give; it must be related to the unsold goods they had sold.

To be honest, He Wenlin didn't want to get involved, nor was she capable of doing so; the main reason was that she simply didn't want to.

"You can definitely help, and even if you can't, it's okay. It's the New Year, so it's only right to give you a New Year's gift."

It has to be said that He Ni is better at interpersonal skills and communication than He Na, which is no wonder she studied in the capital for several years.

He Ni then asked, "Linlin, I heard you've been selling socks and undershirts at a stall in town these past few days. How's it going?"

"It's so-so, but no matter how much they sell, I won't get a share. I'll just get a basic salary."

He Wenlin helped her second brother and Lin Fei, but it wasn't for free. As usual, it was fifteen yuan a day, with transportation costs extra.

He Na felt very uncomfortable, thinking that He Wenlin's relationship with Lin Fei and He Shan should be even better.

"Linlin, we haven't sold all our stock yet. What do you think we should do?" He Ni asked. "We've only sold socks, tank tops, and underwear so far. The rest are basically untouched, except that the other items have higher unit prices. What do you think we should do? You're the most capable among us, so we can only ask you for advice."

"You think too highly of me. I'm not that amazing."

“No, no, no, you can do it, you’re amazing. I’m not flattering you, I mean it sincerely,” He Ni said. “Linlin, I know Nana doesn’t think before she speaks or acts, and she offends people without realizing it. Don’t take it to heart.”

He Wenlin didn't respond to that question. After a pause, she said, "I really can't help with that. If I were that powerful right now, I would have already moved into high-priced items."

He Ni pursed her lips and said, "Linlin, how about I go with you to set up a stall tomorrow? You can give us some pointers."

"Sorry, I'm going to my grandma's house to pay New Year's visits tomorrow, so I won't be setting up a stall."

"And the day after tomorrow?"

"We'll have lunch the day after tomorrow and then head back to Shaoxing."

"So fast!" the two sisters exclaimed in unison.

"Yeah, I'm worried about being away for too long."

He Ni: "That's true. No matter how big your business is, you should keep a close eye on it."

The two sisters looked disappointed and ultimately had to leave with regret.

He Wenlin brought them a box of chocolates from home, as a gesture of reciprocity, and she didn't want to take advantage of them.

"Sigh, it looks like these goods are going to be stuck with me." He Ni sighed as she got home.

"Didn't Linlin give you any advice?" Li Jinfeng asked.

“She had no choice,” He Na said. “I was originally planning to set up a stall with her tomorrow, but she’s not setting up her stall tomorrow because she’s going to visit relatives for the New Year. The day after tomorrow, her family will be going back to Shaoxing. They’re leaving really early this year.”

“Now that their business is growing bigger and bigger, they definitely need to go there sooner,” He Dayong said. “I’m afraid they won’t even come back for the New Year anymore.”

Li Jinfeng: "They built such a big house over there and their business is so big. They've also moved their household registration away. They definitely won't come back anytime soon. If they do come back, it will be for the Qingming Festival to pay their respects."

(Guaqing means tomb sweeping.)

Li Jinfeng glared at He Na: "I told you to go to work honestly, but you've been messing around and made so much money. What are you going to do now? When you go back to Shaocheng, go to work honestly and give me four hundred yuan every month. If you run out of money, let's see what you'll squander."

He Na retorted, "Of course there are risks in doing business, it's not like I'm the one who has to lose money."

"You're still being stubborn!" Li Jinfeng scolded. "How could Linlin and the others not lose money when they set up a stall? How could they make so much?"

"Have they sold out yet?" He Hui asked.

He Ni: "It feels like it's about time, but how would we know for sure?"

Li Jinfeng: "With such high profit margins, even if they sell half of it, they'll still make a profit."

He Na had gone with them to buy goods once, so she already knew the purchase price of the goods and therefore knew the approximate cost of Lin Fei's batch of goods.

“They sold out last year, and I heard they bought even more last year. I estimate I made around ten thousand yuan last year,” He Hui said. “Linlin is really capable; no wonder they all bought houses last year. Why don’t you partner with them?”

He Na remained silent.

I dare not speak.

Because her sister had been scolding her for a long time after finding out the reason, she didn't want to be scolded anymore.

"What else could it be? She doesn't listen to Linlin when it comes to ordering goods, and she blames Linlin for not selling all the cakes. Now, Linlin doesn't want to work with her anymore," He Ni said irritably.

"What's going on?" The whole family was shocked and stared at the two sisters.
