Chapter 298 Yan Daqiang's Worries

What kind of son doesn't send money home for six years? Is this Yan Zheng just like Er Qiang, also an ingrate? Since there's a will, let them send it over. I want to see what's going on in the second wife's family.

One phone call after another was made. After learning Yan Daqiang's identity, the other party promised to send Yan Zheng's will as soon as possible. It turned out that this Yan Zheng was Major General Yan's nephew. But this kid had never mentioned it before and insisted on going to the border.

Yan Daqiang walked into Yan Zheng's ward, stood in front of him, and looked at him for a long time: "Yan Zheng, I am your uncle. I hope you will wake up soon and give me an explanation."

Yan Erqiang and Cai Min were frightened the moment Yan Daqiang stepped through the door, especially Cai Min, who had just arrived and had bullied the nurse, and had even made a scene and been scolded by the nurse in the white coat.

But they noticed that Yan Daqiang didn't even glance at them, instead standing motionless in front of his youngest son. They found it strange, but didn't dare to approach and ask. Just as they were feeling awkward, they overheard Yan Daqiang speaking to Yan Zheng. Yan Zheng quickly said, "Uncle, thank you for coming to see my brother."

Yan Daqiang had a good impression of Yan Ge, and nodded at him: "Where are you living now?"

Yan Ge shook his head: "Uncle, we just arrived today and don't know where to stay. If all else fails, we can just borrow a chair in the hospital and sleep there for the night."

Yan Daqiang wanted them to stay at his home, but he had to discuss it with Xue Ying first. They were just his younger brother and sister-in-law, not his mother, and Xue Ying had no obligation to take them in.

Yan Daqiang returned to Xue Ying's office and brought up the matter with her. Xue Ying shook her head as soon as she heard it: "Old Yan, if it were your third brother and Cuihua's family coming, I would welcome them with open arms. They are a family of hardworking, honest, and good-natured people. But let's forget about your second brother and his family."

"And the upstairs room is new, the bedding and everything are new. We have no one to watch over them during the day, so I'm really worried about letting them stay home. But if they're staying with Mom, that house belongs to Nan Nan, so you'll have to ask her first."

Yan Daqiang nodded repeatedly. He didn't want them to go to his mother's place, but his son had come all the way to Beijing, and his grandson was unconscious in the hospital. It was only right that he told his mother.

With a heavy heart, Yan Xiaoqiang arrived at the courtyard house and asked, puzzled, "Brother, don't you have to go to work? Why are you back again?"

Grandma Yan was sobbing in the recliner Xue Ying had just bought. She had to sob more when her baby wasn't around. The radio next to her was playing opera, and Grandma Yan would occasionally sing along. The sound of a sewing machine could be heard coming from the west wing; Cuihua must be making clothes for everyone.

Yan Daqiang pondered whether such a harmonious and peaceful scene was about to be disrupted by that couple.

"Daqiang, tell your mother what happened. As long as it's not about Nannan, your mother can handle it." Grandma Yan noticed that something was wrong with Daqiang at a glance and quickly asked.

Yan Daqiang felt a pang of heartache. "Mom, can you stop being so quick to talk?" He glanced at Yan Xiaoqiang, only to be surprised to see Yan Xiaoqiang nodding in agreement. Surprised, he finally realized, "Mom's right. As long as Nannan is alright, everyone else will be alright too. I was just being dramatic."

"Mom, there's something tricky. Erqiang's here at the hospital." Yan Daqiang decided to tell them; he figured he could just stay here and watch over them.

But what kind of person is Grandma Yan? She raised her eyes and said, "Speak your mind completely. Don't leave things half-said, it's like a woman."

Yan Daqiang almost lost his composure. How could his mother say she was like a woman? It was so untrue!

"Yan Zheng went to join the army and was injured. His wounds have been treated, but he is still unconscious. He was sent to Xue Ying's hospital, and they sent a telegram to Yan Erqiang, so they are on their way here now."

"Is it because you have nowhere to live? Are you afraid of disturbing me if you stay here?" Grandma Yan saw through Yan Daqiang's thoughts at a glance.

Yan Daqiang nodded quickly, "Mom is amazing!"

"Let them move in. Nan Nan has already reserved rooms for them. Besides, Ai Dang is getting married next month, so it should be a festive occasion. But why is Yan Zheng unconscious? Have they found out what's wrong?" Grandma Yan found it somewhat unbelievable.

Yan Daqiang shook his head: "I don't know what's wrong with Yan Zheng. He wrote a suicide note for Nannan. He didn't send a single penny home during his six years in the army. I really don't understand Erqiang and his family. They're all abnormal."

Grandma Yan was startled. Why would he write a will for Nan Nan? What does it have to do with Nan Nan? Cuihua heard the noise and ran out, having overheard Yan Daqiang's words clearly.

“Mom, Nan Nan has always been good to Yan Zheng since he was little. He gives him candy and canned fruit, and you send them New Year’s money and pastries every year. I guess Yan Zheng considers you two as family. That’s why he wrote his will to Nan Nan. But why write a will at such a young age?”

Cuihua felt very sorry for the Yan brothers. What kind of children go a whole year without eating a single piece of candy? The second brother was really something; no wonder the children didn't care about them.

"Cuihua, help me up. We need to go to the hospital. After all, he's my grandson, and I need to see him." Grandma Yan called to Cuihua.

Yan Xiaoqiang was a little unhappy. He sternly said to Grandma Yan, "Mom, I'm not going. I need to work on the flower beds. There's so much else to do at home."

Grandma Yan sighed. Her second son was truly disappointing and had angered everyone. But no matter what, he was still her son. She should scold him if she needed to, but she should also help him if she needed to.

Seeing them leave, Yan Xiaoqiang also rode his bicycle out. He was going to buy locks. Nan Nan's room wasn't occupied yet, but it had too many valuables and needed to be locked. The west wing also needed locking, and the kitchen definitely needed locking.

Yan Daqiang led Grandma Yan to Yan Zheng's ward. Yan Erqiang and Cai Min were extremely surprised to see Grandma Yan: "Mom, why did you come all this way just to see Yan Zheng? It's not worth it."

Grandma Yan wanted to slap Erqiang twice for saying that, no wonder Yan Zheng was going to write his will.

Yan Ge rushed over and hugged Grandma Yan tightly: "Grandma, Grandma, you've worked so hard, please sit down, Yan and I have missed you so much."

Grandma Yan felt a pang of sadness for the two children. She patted Yan Zheng on the shoulder and said, "Good boy, let Grandma see Yan Zheng first."

Yan Zheng helped his grandmother to the bedside. Grandma Yan sat down next to Yan Zheng and held his hand: "Grandma's grandson, Grandma has come to see you. When Nan Nan comes back tomorrow, tell her to come see you too. If you can wake up, wake up quickly. If anything happens, tell Grandma, and Grandma will help you get revenge."
