Chapter 349 The Son's Debts Are Repaid by the Father (shuhaige.net)

As soon as the car came to a stop, Liu Changhe jumped out and ran towards Hu Dazhuang's office, tearing off his insignia as he went. Hu Dazhuang was just about to leave when Liu Changhe punched him in the face, causing him to stumble back a few steps and bleed profusely from his nose.

The guards behind him rushed forward, but were stopped by Liu Changhe's guards, and a fight was about to break out.

Hu Dazhuang quickly called his bodyguard back. He was of a lower rank than Liu Changhe, so even if he could beat him, he would still suffer the loss. As for what happened, he guessed that something had gone wrong with his daughter and Liu Changhe had found out.

So what if they found out? Children's games are for children to solve themselves. Who told your wife and son to be so stupid? He pinched his nose hard and said, holding his breath, "General Liu, you beat up your subordinate during work hours without cause. Give me a reason, or I will not accept it."

Liu Changhe narrowed his eyes. "So, Hu Dazhuang, you're using a feigned retreat to advance, aren't you? You can do it, but I can't." Liu Changhe snorted coldly, turned around and left. He was going to find his superiors and properly explain his grievances.

In the political commissar's office, Yang Zheng and Yan Daqiang were chatting. In the military, strength speaks volumes, and Yan Daqiang had proven his abilities through his actions. The higher-ups appreciated him. As the two were engrossed in their conversation, a knock sounded on the door: "Report."

"Come in," Yang Zheng said, frowning.

"Reporting to Yang Zheng, Major General Liu Changhe has something to report to you."

"Do you know what this is about?" Yang Zheng asked his bodyguard.

"Major General Liu punched Deputy General Hu, causing him to bleed from the nose," the guard replied.

Yan Daqiang and Yang Zheng exchanged a glance, and Yan Daqiang wisely took his leave.

Yang Zheng looked at Liu Changhe, whose face was ashen, and politely asked him to sit down: "Major General Liu, may I ask what business you have with me?"

Looking at Yang Zheng, who was smiling politely yet distantly, Liu Changhe suddenly realized that he had brought up his trivial family matters in front of his superiors, as if he thought he was stupid enough.

After a moment's thought, Liu Changhe stood up and said sincerely, "Yang Zheng, I made a mistake today. I hit Hu Dazhuang during work hours. Please punish me."

Yang Zheng nodded. Liu Changhe was as calm and collected as an old dog when dealing with other matters, but he would lose his composure when it came to his son. Hu Dazhuang had this weakness firmly under his control, and Liu Changhe knew this fatal flaw, but he had no way to save himself.

"What do you think is the most appropriate way to punish you?" Yang Zheng threw the difficult question to Liu Changhe.

Liu Changhe did not answer. He knew he couldn't escape being put in solitary confinement, and might even be suspended from his duties for investigation. The initiative was no longer in his hands, but in Hu Dazhuang's.

Sure enough, the guard knocked on the door again. Hu Dazhuang ran in after being given permission. His face was covered in dried blood, which made him look even more frightening. Political Commissar Yang frowned deeply. It seemed that Hu Dazhuang was going to make a big fuss.

Upon seeing Yang Zheng, Hu Dazhuang saluted with a look of grievance: "Reporting to Yang Zheng, Hu Dazhuang requests that you punish me. My daughter offended Major General Liu's son, and as her father, it is only right that I apologize on her behalf."

A nameless anger slowly rose in Yang Zheng's heart. At this critical moment when everything was waiting to be rebuilt, as a leader, instead of seeking benefits for his subordinates and improving their quality of life, he was either preoccupied with seizing positions or doing these messy things, and he still had the nerve to come to him to complain.

Looking at Hu Dazhuang's pretentious face, Yang Zheng asked coldly, "How do you think he should be punished as an apology?"

Hu Dazhuang's heart skipped a beat. Yang Zheng's demeanor was off today. Could it be that Liu Changhe was the one who filed the false accusation first?

Stealing a glance at Liu Changhe, she sensed that he wasn't in a good mood either, and her heart sank inexplicably.

"Where is this? Please answer." Yang Zheng asked seriously.

The two looked at each other, knowing the answer but unable to reply.

"Please tell me, where are you standing right now?" Yang Zheng's voice rose three octaves.

“I committed a serious offense by assaulting someone during working hours. I request that Yang Zheng discipline me as a warning to others,” Liu Changhe said resolutely.

Yang Zheng's expression softened slightly, and he looked at Hu Dazhuang.

Hu Dazhuang had no choice but to say, "I had impure intentions and deliberately caused a bad influence on the unit. I request that Yang Zheng punish me."

Yang Zheng nodded and said, "Liu Changhe will be confined for two days, and Hu Dazhuang will be confined for one day. After they come out, they must complete the arduous tasks assigned by the unit within the specified time. If they fail to do so, they will be suspended from their duties for investigation. We will hold a meeting to decide on the specifics."

The two were struck dumb, proving the adage "If you don't court death, you won't die." Apart from Yan Daqiang completing most of the arduous task assigned by the unit, the others only managed to scrape together bits and pieces.

Watching the two slink away, Yang Zheng felt exhausted. They had survived such difficult times, how could they both die at the hands of their own children? It was truly unbelievable.

In the corridor, Hu Dazhuang glanced at Liu Changhe, thought for a moment, and said, "Major General Liu, why don't we go to your office for a while?"

Liu Changhe nodded, realizing he had acted too impulsively today.

The guard brought in two cups of tea, turned around, closed the door, and left. Liu Changhe looked at the closed door and said wearily, "Liu Decai and your Hu Lisha have both been disciplined by the school and are on probation."

Hu Dazhuang was confused. Hu Lisha had only asked his wife to come to the school to propose marriage, so why was she being punished by the school?

Seeing Hu Dazhuang's bewildered expression, Liu Changhe laughed, from a soft chuckle to a hearty laugh, until tears streamed down his face. He then walked to the door and opened it, saying, "Hu Dazhuang, please."

Hu Dazhuang left Liu Changhe's office full of suspicion. After thinking for a while, he decided to ask his bodyguard to take him to his daughter's school to find out what had happened.

When Hu Lisha saw her father coming to find her, she turned pale with fright. She had made a huge mistake this time and dared not hide anything. She told him everything clearly, especially the story of how Ye Chenming broke Liu Decai's nose.

The more Hu Dazhuang listened, the more his head ached and he was terrified. Who was this Ye Chenming? How dare he beat Liu Decai to the point of being hospitalized, while Liu Changhe didn't dare to utter a single word?

The biggest problem is that Yan Xiaonan is Yan Daqiang's niece, and she is engaged to Ye Chenming. How powerful must Yan Daqiang be? Luckily, I lost back then, otherwise I would have been in big trouble.

Both were heroes who had emerged from the flames of war. Hu Dazhuang never thought he was inferior to Yan Daqiang, but at this moment, Hu Dazhuang sincerely admitted defeat. His wife was not as good as Xue Ying, his son was not as good as Yan Aidang and Yan Aiguo, and his daughter was not as good as Yan Xiaonan.
