Chapter 483 The Heartbroken North and South

Inside Ye Chen'er's second courtyard house, Tie Ge was also anxiously pacing back and forth. Bei Nan wanted to go back, and he definitely had to go back too, since their visa dates were the same. But Ye Huixian hadn't given his consent yet.

"Huixian, my dear aunt, please, I need to book my plane ticket tomorrow. Promise me you'll wait for me to come back and marry me, okay? Here's the key to my courtyard house, and this is my bankbook. Take it."

Ye Huixian was startled. This guy was going back, and he seemed a little reluctant to leave. Should he put aside his pride and agree to go with him? He was in a dilemma.

Seeing that Tie Ge was hesitant to take the keys from his hand, he knelt down on one knee in desperation: "Hui Xian, I'm proposing to you. Please say yes and marry me. I'll treat you well for the rest of my life."

Ye Huixian looked at him suspiciously and asked, "Where did you learn this from?"

Tie Ge said that this is how men propose in Vancouver. They usually give flowers and a ring, but we're more practical. We turn the flowers into the key to a courtyard house and the ring into a savings account with millions of dollars.

We Chinese are practical. Why spend money? Isn't a house better? Why need a ring? The money in one savings account can buy thousands upon thousands of rings.

"If you give me the money, what will happen to your hot spring?" Ye Huixian asked.

“Hui Xian, I have a plantation, a vineyard, and a business in Chinatown in Vancouver. I can easily come up with tens of millions. You can use this little bit of money for now,” Tie Ge said casually.

Ye Huixian is so depressed! Are a few million a small amount of money? If so, then nobody should live anymore. How can you talk like that? It really proves the old saying, "Rich and powerful, so arrogant."

“Huixian, when the pace of opening up accelerates in a few years, I’ll take you to Vancouver and show you our estate. If you don’t like it, we can come back. Shanghai is fine too. Or you can use this money to buy a few villas in Shanghai.”

Ye Huixian was tempted. Oh right, Nan Nan had said that with economic development, future house prices would rise to unimaginable heights.

"Hmm, that's a good suggestion. My second brother is going back to Shanghai in a couple of days, and I'm going back with him. We'll see if there are any Western-style houses available then, and I'll buy one for you." Ye Huixian took the bankbook.

"You don't need to give me the key, I'm perfectly fine living here," Ye Huixian said, pointing to the key.

Tie Ge was unhappy and shoved the key into Ye Huixian's hand, saying, "Huixian, the mansion will also be registered in your name, and all future properties will be registered in your name."

"Aren't you afraid I'll run away with your belongings?" Ye Huixian laughed.

"Don't be afraid, you're mine, the wife I've chosen for this lifetime. Even if you really want to run away with all my belongings, as long as you're happy, I'm willing." Tie Ge wished he could tear his heart apart.

Ye Huixian couldn't bear to tease him anymore, and nodded shyly, saying, "Then let's talk about it when you get back."

Tie Ge took Ye Huixian's hand, kissed the back of her hand, and said, "When I come back, I will give you a grand wedding."

He wants to go back and have a suit, a ring, and shoes made to order.

"Hui Xian, give me your clothes, pants, and shoes sizes. I'm going to Vancouver to have a wedding dress made for you. What color do you want, white or red? Or maybe both? Wear white for the entrance and red for the toasts," Tie Ge said excitedly.

Ye Huixian's reserve vanished, and his thoughts completely followed Tie Ge's lead. Hmm, not bad suggestion. Wearing white when you make your entrance represents purity, and wearing red when you offer a toast represents celebration.

Seeing the change in Ye Huixian's eyes, Tie Ge felt relieved. He knew he would have a wife soon, and in the near future, a string of children would be revolving around him. Just thinking about it made him happy.

The two walked side by side toward Nan Nan's house. Bei Nan should be back today, otherwise she wouldn't be able to book her flight tomorrow.

Sure enough, as soon as he arrived at the door, he smelled the aroma of food. Tie Ge realized he was hungry and quickly ran a few steps.

Grandma Yan was feeding the fawns when she saw Ye Huixian and Tie Ge looking so sweet together. She knew then that there was going to be a happy occasion in the family.

Ye Huixian glanced shyly at Grandma Yan; the old lady had sharp eyesight, and she could tell just by looking at her.

"Grandma Yan, has Bei Nan returned?" Tie Ge asked.

"You're back. You're in the main room. Please come in," Grandma Yan said with a smile.

Ye Huixian looked at the kitchen and said, "Grandma Yan, I'll go to the kitchen and help Sister Cuihua cook."

Seeing Ye Huixian's bright red face, Grandma Yan felt like she had bullied a younger generation, and waved her hand, saying, "Go on, I'll feed my little deer some more."

The next day, Bei Nan and Tie Ge booked their tickets back to Vancouver in mid-April. With two weeks to go, Tie Ge decided to accompany Ye Huixian back to Shanghai to see what good things were happening there.

Meanwhile, people from both the north and south would often visit the furniture factories when they had nothing to do. Now that the logging teams had signed transportation contracts, they would transport a batch of timber to the capital every quarter, so the furniture factories in the capital were running out of trucks again.

Ye Huili happily helped arrange transportation. The bigger the furniture factory became, the more at ease he felt, knowing that this factory belonged to his daughter-in-law and niece.

Yan Daqiang also helped find drivers among the veterans, as those veterans in the driver training class had top-notch driving skills.

Looking at Shen Shaohua's serious demeanor as he meticulously reviewed the materials and diligently registered them, Bei Nan felt that her business would be taken care of in the future.

Shen Shaohua looked at Bei Nan sitting in the office, staring at him without saying a word or moving, and felt puzzled.

"Yan Beinan, you've been coming here a lot these past few days, is something the matter?"

"Shen Shaohua, I want to ask if you have a boyfriend?" Bei Nan asked boldly when she saw that no one was around.

Shen Shaohua smiled and shook her head. She wanted to find a hero like her father, preferably one with some superpowers, but her stubborn uncle said that such people were practically extinct and very difficult to find.

"What do you think of me? Do I suit your taste?" Bei Nan asked nervously.

Shen Shaohua was taken aback. In her eyes, Bei Nan was just Yan Xiaonan's third brother, a ruthless figure who rose to power through the underworld.

In Shen Shaohua's mind, this kind of person was a completely different kind of person from herself, and there was no possibility of them ever getting to know each other. To be honest, in her eyes, the Southwest was much more pleasing to the eye than the North.

"I'm sorry, Yan Beinan. The person I want, even if they can't be a hero, is an upright person who can live with dignity and do things honestly. You are not suitable for me, and I am not suitable for you."

"Although you have a lot of money, in my eyes, the money I earn myself is still the cleanest," Shen Shaohua replied outright.

When his father finds out he's dated a clean-cut gangster, he'll definitely break his legs.

Yan Beinan's heart clenched painfully. It turned out that his millions of dollars were not as appealing to this girl as her monthly salary of eighty yuan.
