Chapter 756 Yan Xiaonan Gives Birth (1)

Two days later, Ye Chenming drove Cuihua and Nannan to the hospital. Yan Xiaonan was surprised to see the completely renovated ward.

The sofa in the living room was covered with bright red velvet fabric, and the kitchen was filled with pots, pans, thermos flasks, kettles, and cups.

The toilet bowl was covered with a thick cotton pad, and the bathroom was filled with toiletries, towels, and bath towels were neatly folded on the shelf.

In the room, two single beds were placed side by side, covered with clean and soft mattresses, along with pink floral comforters and pillows, and even the curtains had been changed to a heavy, bright red.

There was a crib next to the bed, covered with a snow-white and soft baby blanket. Most surprisingly, colorful toys were hanging on the crib. The baby hadn't even been born yet, but they had already prepared a lot of toys.

"Nan Nan, what do you think? If there's anything inconvenient, I'll go and get it." Ye Chenming asked, supporting Yan Xiaonan.

Yan Xiaonan nodded. Chen Ming had really put a lot of thought into this; how could she not be satisfied?

"Chenming, you should take Mom back. I'm worried about Grandma staying at home," Yan Xiaonan said.

"It's alright, your dad's home. Besides, they'll call if anything happens. I've already told the nurse to call me if there's a phone call," Cuihua said, waving her hand.

"Mom, you're amazing! You even managed to fool the nurses." Yan Xiaonan said admiringly.

Cuihua nodded smugly: "I'll go to the nearby vegetable market and see what vegetables I can buy. Chenming, you go find the nurses and see if the hospital cafeteria has any meals for pregnant women. If so, make a reservation."

Ye Chenming nodded repeatedly, opened the door and walked towards the nurses' station. The nurses had long been gossiping about Ye Chenming's appearance, describing him as unparalleled.

Seeing an excessively handsome man approaching, she quickly nudged her companion: "Is this the man, the pregnant woman's husband?"

The person who was pushed was the one who helped Ye Chenming tidy up the ward. Upon seeing him, he nodded quickly: "That's him, isn't he handsome?"

"Mmm, it's so beautiful! My eyes are sparkling!" the nurse exclaimed dramatically.

"Who should I contact to order meals for pregnant women?" Ye Chenming asked.

But no one paid him any attention; the three female nurses stared blankly at him.

Ye Chenming saw a familiar face, tapped the table with his finger and said, "Hello, I want to order food."

The nurse, having spoken to Ye Chenming before, was the first to react: "Hello Mr. Ye, what kind of meal would you like to order? We have meals for patients, nutritional meals, meals for pregnant women, and meals for postpartum women."

"First, order meals for pregnant women, three meals a day. After the baby is born, order meals for postpartum women, also three meals a day, and make sure they are the best," Ye Chenming said.

"Okay, I'll order it for you today, but lunch is probably not available. How about starting tonight?" the nurse asked.

"Okay, thank you." Ye Chenming left without looking back.

The young nurse quickly picked up her notebook and started taking notes. Seeing her two colleagues still staring at Ye Chenming's back, she couldn't help but shake her head. He's already married, what's there to see?

Ye Chenming returned to the ward and saw Yan Xiaonan sitting on the sofa, engrossed in a book. He glanced at the cover and realized it was a book about prenatal and postnatal care. He couldn't help but smile.

“My Nannan is so serious. Show it to me after you’ve finished reading it, so I can learn from it too.”

Yan Xiaonan was taken aback, then laughed and handed the book to Ye Chenming: "You should learn this. When giving birth, you should take deep breaths, exhale, inhale, exhale again, and inhale again. This can reduce the pain."

Ye Chenming felt a little embarrassed. He wasn't a woman and couldn't have children, so he couldn't understand the pain that was comparable to a level seven injury.

"Nan Nan, if there's an injection that makes childbirth painless, you should get it," Ye Chenming said with concern.

"There shouldn't be such a thing yet, at least not now." In her previous life, Yan Xiaonan was also a girl, so she wouldn't know anything about childbirth.

The two chatted and laughed, and time flew by. Cuihua returned to the ward carrying large and small bags of things.

Yan Xiaonan looked at the groceries Cuihua had bought: "Mom, you're overthinking it. The stove here can only heat up food; it's nothing like the kitchen at home where you can just stir-fry a few dishes."

Cuihua paused for a moment, then turned on the gas stove. Looking at the tiny flame, she frowned. "This flame would take a long time to boil milk, how am I supposed to cook rice?"

Ye Chenming laughed. He guessed the hospital was also worried about a gas leak. With such a small flame, even if there was a leak, with only the kitchen window open, no one would die.

"Looks like I'll have to go home and cook it, then bring it back," Cuihua said, somewhat annoyed.

Ye Chenming quickly told Cuihua about his meal order. Knowing that her daughter was guaranteed three meals a day, Cuihua finally felt relieved. She could just go back and cook some soup.

"Chenming, why don't you take Mom home? There's so much food; we shouldn't waste it," Yan Xiaonan said.

"I'll go buy you a meal first. After you finish eating, I'll take Mom back. Mom, you stay with Nannan. I'll go buy some food, two extra portions, we can all eat here," Chen Ming said, taking out a lunchbox.

Cuihua nodded; this was the only way.

Ye Chenming returned from the hospital cafeteria with his food. The food there was decent, with fish, meat, bean products, and vegetables. Ye Chenming took a little of everything, and eventually, there weren't any lunchboxes left.

I could only buy ten meat buns to take home, so I'll just eat them as my meal and make do with whatever I have.

Yan Xiaonan looked at the three full boxes of vegetables and couldn't help but laugh: "Chenming, are you treating us like pigs? So many vegetables, but not a single grain of rice."

Cuihua lightly patted Yan Xiaonan's hand: "You're so glib. How can you talk like that? Chenming is the best son-in-law I've ever seen. You're not allowed to bully him."

Yan Xiaonan covered her mouth and laughed: "Mom, you've betrayed me."

Cuihua shook her head. This girl is no longer a good match. They say pregnancy makes you stupid for three years, and now that she's pregnant for the second time, she'll probably be stupid for six years.

After finishing his meal, Ye Chenming rushed to wash the lunchbox. Fortunately, the faucet in the kitchen was reliable, and the water flow was strong.

After sending Cuihua back, Ye Chenming quickly returned to the ward and saw Yan Xiaonan preparing clothes. He asked curiously, "Nannan, what are you doing?"

"I want to take a shower and wash my hair. By the way, Chenming, did you bring scissors? I think my hair is too long and I need to cut it shorter."

"No, Mom said pregnant women can't touch knives, including scissors. Don't cut anything, you'll just have to tie it up later," Ye Chenming quickly refused.

Seeing that Ye Chenming's expression had changed, Yan Xiaonan found it amusing. Where did this superstition come from? Really.

After grabbing her clothes, Yan Xiaonan turned around and entered the bathroom. A non-slip mat had already been laid out in the bathroom, and Yan Xiaonan, barefoot, confidently turned on the tap.
